Followed your video and totally repaired my machine. I’m a 71 year old lady and was able to follow your instructions and make the repair! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much! As a divorced woman I am learning to do things on my own or pay big money. I am proud to say, I'm pretty impressed with my life skills & determination to fix things & thanks to a 12 min video on you tube I changed out my suspension rods in my washer machine in 30 min. ..now not banging around and wrecking the top
I gained so much just from the first 2:40 of the video. Your attention to detail, and not skipping over anything, and sharing your tips is what makes you stand out.
It worked!!! I ordered the parts and did it myself. I was kind of worried that,,,,that wasn't the problem, but that was the problem. I made sure it was level while I had it up in the air, which probably helped. Thank you very much.$30 as compared to $800. Is a big win! I'll take those odds any day. Heroes don't always wear capes.
Thanks to you my partner & I were able to replace the suspension rods in our 7 yr. old Amana...Amazing because he's over 70 and I'm not far behind. I must say 4 hands were better than 2! It took 4 hours but we did it! Thank you!
Wow! I got here from searching the problem, not even a specific model. But sure enough, mine's a whirlpool that looks just like this and 100% has this issue. Must be a pretty common failure. So happy to know there's an actual solution!
I've seen several videos on this exact repair, and you're the only one who recommended hanging the old rods from the frame and swapping them two at a time. Genius! Much easier than the others with their "drop the entire basket and then struggle to lift it up several times" methodology.
Thank u so much my friend .. my family asked me to buy a new one and you Saved me 1000.00 dollars . I replaced these parts and done Blessings to u and your family
Omg 😮thank you! After like two years of my machine doing the bouncing/knocking I finally understand what is happening with our 6 year old Whirlpool! Thank you so much!!
JOSH!!! My son and I successfully fixed the washing machine following your instructions! This was such a blessing not to have to pay someone else, especially now that we know how simple this is!
Thanks so much!! This did the trick $30 on Amazon, followed your instructions, used my 13y/o for an extra hands and viola! Brand new! Saved me from buying a new one, which was my next move! And yes the springing center was the diagnostic factor along with the jumping on spin cycle no matter how I arranged the clothes, or how few I put in! So thank you so much! I appreciate you!
Thank you so much for your video, I normally can't fix anything but my wife encouraged me to look on TH-cam. I found and followed your instructions and was greatly successful. I saved $600.00 last weekend, because I decided to attempt repairing our, not so old machine versus buying a new one. Thank you very much; happy wife, happy life. God bless 😊
I, too, hate to needlessly dispose of things, so when our washer started going off the rails during the spin cycle, I hoped that there would be an easy fix for it. Thankfully, I came across your video and discovered that a fix was not only easy, but cheap as well. Thanks so much for the great video!
Thank you. Great job with your step by step instruction. Also super helpful that you mentioned “plastic side may be broken, and that’s alright”. Really helped prevent my wife from scraping ours.
Thanks. As a former maintenance tech for a large apartment complex, I never had to fix the washers because the units were not directly owned by the complex. When my own home washer started to bounce I just re-attached the suspension rod that "jumped" out of place. Unfortunately, shortly there after the problem persisted. I thought there may have been a counter balance broken at the bottom of the washer. I did not even know if there was a counter balance. Watching your video, I will immediately order some new suspension rods and I am confident that the new rods will solve my problem. Thanks. As I am also a teacher, I found your video to be very informative and well presented. Keep up the GREAT work.
My husband and I just did this (Jan. 2024)! Worked like a charm. Bought the parts on Amazon as you said. One day free shipping with Prime and saved about $20 on the parts. Your instructions were incredibly easy to follow. THANK YOU!
Between the banging, noisy spin cycle and the controller needing reprogrammed every time I used it, I scrapped it and bought a Speed Queen. Fabulous machine and a great warranty! You can't even hear it run!
My wife and I did this together quickly. I only ran into 1 problem. The grease from the old rods was on my hands and made it a bit harder to pull the new rods up through the corner holes and attach the fastener. Even if I had worn rubber gloves, it would have been slippery. What I did was to use 1 of the old rods. I put it (hook down) through the hole and hook it to the new rod. Then I had better grip to pull it through the corner and attach the fastener. Very simple. Thanks for the video, as it helped tremendously. And we didn't have to hire anyone to fix the washer or replace it.
This was an amazing video. I did watch it twice and tackled my washing machine. I did it. All 4 changed out in less than an hour. I used the camera on my phone to get the new rods in. I was so proud! Thank you for this great video.
My washer was acting crazy this last month until I got feed up and start searching tutorials.. I was i bit scared to start playing with my washer but you made it so easy i felt comfortable doing it! I just fixed it!! 😁😁 I only hear silence now from the washer !!! Thank you soo much! 👍
You saved me so much money!!!!! I got the suspension rods from an appliance place in my town same day was $93 and I fixed it with the help of my son! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much. As many others have said it looks like this video you made is paying dividends and keeping appliances out of landfills… 55 dollars later and I got a perfectly good working washer. Again, thank you!
Oh my gosh!! Thank you for your video! My husband & I were able to complete this repair with more giggles than bad words! Also no divorce necessary!! We appreciate you! ❤🎉
Thanks so much‼️ I've been dealing with this"Dancing Machine" at least four months. I was on the verge of shopping for a new washer but I figured I could fix it myself. It took me less than an hour. Thanks for your tips & techniques. Thanks for the video!👍🏾👍🏾
Best video yet on how to replace those springs! I just ordered the kit. I love youtube and the people like you who have helped me repair things. When my refrigerator stopped cooling, i went through a video, troubleshooting found out it was a 25 dollar timer, intalled it and it's worked ever since. a new frig like the one i have would have been 1800 bucks. Cheers! MT
Maytag dealer quoted $250 for this repair. $38 from Amazon and and hour of work with my wife and like new with no divorce!!!!Thanks for great step by step.
Thanks for the video. The banging on our washer was only for a few seconds during the spin cycle, so I thought it was poor clothes balancing. Yours was more educational than others by including the symptoms of 'bounciness' and the broken plastic cover (and that it's OK to be broken). Replaced the suspension rods with OEM parts and seems to be working fine.
Bro this worked completely! I don't have the exact model of washer you have in the video, but it's really close. You save me $1,500 of not having to buy a new washer, or $300 getting this one fixed, it was $30 in springs off Amazon! Even though this washing machine is probably close to 20 years old, it's just me who uses it, and it's going to still be in use.
It finally dawned on me that our constant balance problem might be a physical issue, I have what looks to be the exact same model. I’m an atv mechanic not an appliance guy but I think I can handle this. Thanks for the video, god knows I cannot afford a new washer right now
Thank you for this video! You were spot on with diagnosis of the problem and the ordering of the part from Amazon. My husband and son changed them and now it doesn’t shake or get off balance anymore! Thank you!
Dude you were a lifesaver!!! And thanks for talking in a nice teachable speed!! You spoke clear!!! You did a great job. Thanks for sharing have great day 😃👍👍
I just wanted to Thank You for putting this out there. I ordered some parts for my Crosley but they were a little long, but my local appliance repair shop had them in stock and I was able to change them by myself. I had to take the back panel off of it and do them one at a time, but I did it. She's running good now, instead of like the mechanical bull at Gilley's.
Great video! Me and my two sons just fixed our machine and saved $$$! Thank you so much! Great step by step instructions from ordering correct parts to the end!
Thank you So much for this video. We bought a pair of used washer and dryer, we were told they worked great. The washer bounced so bad during the spin cycle I couldn't use it. I found your video on the weekend ordered the part my husband changed them and 2 days later it worked perfectly. Again Thanks So Much. Liz
We have this exact same washer. It is off balance when spinning. It's over 9 years old and the feet seem to be in correct position because it doesn't rock on either side. Looks super simple. Thank you.
Thanks!!! We had the exact same model and issue. The repair was as simple as your great video and we’ll now be doing quiet loads of laundry in the same washer for years to come. So grateful!
Thank you for this video! I stumbled across it when I was looking for a possible fix for my washing machine issue to see if it was repairable and not just needing to be replaced. This fixed my problem and for only $30 on my end.
Very good video, my washer has all the same symptoms. It walks, wobbles, and even bangs when very unbalanced. I will try everything you taught in the video and pretty sure it will work.
Thanks so much! Our washer sounded like it was going to bust through the walls. We were able to fix our machine in about 30 minutes between my husband and me!
I just got my parts yesterday and my goal is to work on it and have it back up and running by Wednesday. Reading the comments makes me feel a lot better. I’m a grandma and I know I can do this.
This worked for me and the washer is like new (almost)! Thank you for this great clip on how to replace these. I never noticed the QR code or serial number on the lid of my washer after all these years of owning the thing. Bought my parts on Amazon and had them in two days. Was not easy to get these out on my own but did get it done.
Thank you!!! As much as I would love a new fancy washer, it's not really in our budget. I have no doubt I can fix my washer. I have same washer only it's under the name Roper. I just ordered my part's from Amazon 29.99 with 4.5 stars and a 5% off. It will be here in 2 day's. I will update you when I get it done. I believe with everything you just showed me in simple, easy to understand terms; I can do this! Thank you
Thanks Josh, you have saved our washing machine at least til we can buy our new set. I watched your video and found the part on Amazon and my husband and son goiter done in 15 mins. Awsome sauce!!!
My neighbor has the same brand and model with the same issue. I’m sharing with him so he can fix it. Thank you for a great video and glad the first spring hook fell off, I sometime’s find that helpful too
This is amazing!! Thank you so much!! I've got the struts ordered and just waiting on my husband to be ready! I'm really appreciative of your knowledge and video!!!
Ok, update: WE DID IT!!! I'm so proud of us! And so so so thankful for you!! Without your video- we would've had to spend SO MUCH to get a new washer! Thank you!!
Well done Josh! Perfectly and clearly explained. I just picked up one of these machines used after a fairly new LG decided to self destruct. Mine is not going off balance, but I was a bit concerned that the tub was swinging side-to-side so much when I would move it by hand. Now that I’ve seen your video, I know that it’s the “basketball bounce” to determine the suspension rod health. My machine passed that test; however, I’m saving this video for future reference! Thanks again, cheers.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge in a clear and concise manner. Thank you TH-cam for being "there" so many times for all the stuff I Needed to know.
This “is” my machine and this is the second time unbalanced, but this time I’m going to diy and save $. Watched your grrreat video and WILL proceed. Thank you!!!
I literally just ordered the parts to repair our exact same washer exactly the same way you did. I also ordered the water fill valve. Thanks for the helpful video.
I had to do the exact same thing my wife wanted a new one but she's happy now, My first time working on a washing machine and u made it easy to fix👍🏾 Thanks u saved me 250 bucks. She's always putting too many loads in lol.. Kids happy also cuz it doesn't make any noise it was so loud it was scaring my daughter sounded like a train was in our house lol.. thanks again God bless u and your family..
Great instructions and I completed the repair by myself. Some challenges moving the machine but at least I saved money on purchasing a new machine today. 😁
I did it. I have a Whirlpool top loader that looked more or less like this. I had a little less room to stick my arm down to pull the rod up. I used a screw driver shaft to catch the hook above the basket. It gave me time to put the ‘hook holder’ on. Anyways, would not have done it without this video. Thanks
Thank you for all of the thought and information that you put into this! I got everything that I needed to figure out the issue and the best way to fix my washer! I wish you and your loved ones well.
HELPFUL HACK!!! The video was super easy to follow, THANK YOU!! It was difficult for me to grab and push the hook up and through, so I used the old suspension rod’s hook to hook the new one and I pulled up…. SO MUCH EASIER for me.
Thank you so much for your video!! So helpful!! I was having a hard time find the right model number for the springs. You are a blessings Sir. May the Lord bless you!!!
Thank you so much!. I had subscribed previously and enjoyed your videos... I never used one until today, and like a previous comment from a couple, my wife and I did this in under an hour, and it was awesome! Thanks again, very much appreciated!. All the best, Peter in Massachusetts!
My goodness I searched and searched but then I found you the best instructor ever thank you so much job well done❤ couldn't have done it without you a big new subbing here 🎉😊
Great video and thank you! I wish there was a button like the CC ( closed captions ) to shut off the background music because I prefer just to hear your lecture without any other distractions.
great vid that helped my repair my maytag. mahalos! i found out on my last suspension spring install that you can install from the top. after you unhook the top, just push down on the strut and it will pop off. then hook the bottom assembly from the top then pull up and hook it thru the top keeper onto the metal frame. then clip on the locking plastic making sure the clip is correctly attached then turn 90 degree and all locked in. the last strut took 30 seconds to install! and you wonder why washer repair men cost so much 😅
My husband and I did it together. A few bad words, but no divorce necessary. Thank you very much!
Haha great!!
😂😂😂
😬😬😬😂😂😂😂😂
Bahahaha that's too funny 🤣
Ditto
Followed your video and totally repaired my machine. I’m a 71 year old lady and was able to follow your instructions and make the repair! Thanks so much!

72 and fixing to do it, too! 🤞. Just hooked up my new water heater up after a dear man lifted it up on the stand… I have my limits. 🤣
You go girl! I’m a 60 yo.

Ha! Great job!!!!
I bet she's so proud of herself 😂💯 I know I will be when I fix mine & it's just me side eyeing myself saying "dude ..be real, u ain't fixing this"😂
I gained so much just from the first 2:40 of the video. Your attention to detail, and not skipping over anything, and sharing your tips is what makes you stand out.
We watched your video once and it took less than an hour and $23 to fix our machine! Thank you so much!

This video makes me believe I can do it myself thank you ....cause I'm tired of fighting warrantee people
Best video yet on how to replace those springs!

Thanks to this video I was able to fix my washing machine for $35. Couldn’t have done it without you! Many thanks!
Awesome 😎
I just wanted to Thank You for putting this out there. I ordered some parts for my Crosley but they were a little long, but my local appliance repair shop had them in stock and I was able to change them by myself. I had to take the back panel off of it and do them one at a time, but I did it. She's running good now, instead of like the mechanical bull at Gilley's.
Just fixed my washer after watching your video…from the least handy handyman ever, thank you!! You’re a lifesaver
Excellent!
Great video! Me and my two sons just fixed our machine and saved $$$! Thank you so much! Great step by step instructions from ordering correct parts to the end!

Thank you very much. I am going to to this on my Obnoxious machine. My wife will be very happy with me. Kudos!!!
Excellent presentation. Clear & concise.
Thank you so much! We spent $27 and 30 mins time vs $450 for a new machine from the Lowe's Outlet. 😁
Thank you!!

You bet! Glad I could help!!!!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge in a clear and concise manner. Thank you TH-cam for being "there" so many times for all the stuff I Needed to know.
On behalf of TH-cam, you're welcome.

Thank you to showed how easy to fix and save a lot of money. Just to remember to disconnect the power cable first for safety. 👍
I love this video. I am going to order parts to fix my washer. Thank you so much! Hold your fingers for me!
I literally just ordered the parts to repair our exact same washer exactly the same way you did. I also ordered the water fill valve. Thanks for the helpful video.
You bet! Good luck!!
Thanks, you too!!
Great instructions and I completed the repair by myself. Some challenges moving the machine but at least I saved money on purchasing a new machine today. 😁
Absolutely useful! This is my problem. A great project for my dad and me. Thank you!
I did it. I have a Whirlpool top loader that looked more or less like this. I had a little less room to stick my arm down to pull the rod up. I used a screw driver shaft to catch the hook above the basket. It gave me time to put the ‘hook holder’ on. Anyways, would not have done it without this video. Thanks
I know,,if you did it by yourself it's a pain but it sounds like you did great.
This is one of the best videos I have seen. You make it so very easy to do it yourself. Thanks .
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video short and straight to the point , It took me around an hour to fix mine... thanks!!!
Thank you for all of the thought and information that you put into this! I got everything that I needed to figure out the issue and the best way to fix my washer! I wish you and your loved ones well.
Thank you! 🥰
This video was a big help in figuring out how to open up my Roper RTW4640YQ1 washer. Thank you!
HELPFUL HACK!!!
The video was super easy to follow, THANK YOU!! It was difficult for me to grab and push the hook up and through, so I used the old suspension rod’s hook to hook the new one and I pulled up…. SO MUCH EASIER for me.
That's a great tip! Thanks 🙏
Thank you! My daughter helped me fix my washer. I'm a senior and my daughter was the muscle. It was a little tedious, but we got it done!😁🎉

Great video and thank you! I wish there was a button like the CC ( closed captions ) to shut off the background music because I prefer just to hear your lecture without any other distractions.
I don't use the music any more. Lol.
Out of all of the videos I watched. This was the best and most helpful! Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much man. Very straightforward and understandable. I was very nervous but you helped me fix a washer for the first time
Thank you so so much for showing us this! I’m so new to living in a home, and having to be my own handy man, much appreciated!!
Yay 😁
Can you suggest the type of tools we may need for this repair? Thank you
I managed bad back and all. Excellent directions. Thanks.
Thanks for the information! Just changed mine out with no issues.
great vid that helped my repair my maytag. mahalos! i found out on my last suspension spring install that you can install from the top. after you unhook the top, just push down on the strut and it will pop off. then hook the bottom assembly from the top then pull up and hook it thru the top keeper onto the metal frame. then clip on the locking plastic making sure the clip is correctly attached then turn 90 degree and all locked in. the last strut took 30 seconds to install! and you wonder why washer repair men cost so much 😅
Good job!! Excellent advice!!
Thanks to your video I was able to fix my washer!! Thank you!
I have 2 of the same unit, same issue. I have yet to repair them. Guess I need to order a few kits. Thank You for sharing
