You have abused it. Iv had the same watch for 8 years, wore it everyday for about 6 of those year and half the time for the rest. Iv swam and dived with it, done all sorts in it and It is in excellent condition. A beater watch doesn’t have to meant a beaten watch.

Classic for excellent reasons! I have had a 16234 Slate Tapestry Datejust since 1992. Your watch is about as close you can get to mine in 2024. No reason to hate. BTW: I’m 6’2” and 225. I’m build like a linebacker and this watch is perfect. I own other much larger watches from 40-44mm including a Tudor BB Chrono reverse panda that is a beast. You don’t need to wear the same size watch all the time.

As a Rolex and Omega owner, my Steinhart (a 42mm black ceramic) is my favorite - is it the best, no but at the price it’s exceptional and I will be purchasing more.

I did the same thing. Can go into RSC and they replace damaged steel screws for no charge. They replaced 3 of them for me in a matter of minutes while I waited and it was at no cost.

Hard decision, but blue is my fav.

This is the main reason I sold my Rolex submariner several years ago was because it kept awful time. I have no problem with the watch gaining a little time but if you’re losing time making me eventually late to my meetings you don’t belong on my wrist. I ended up replacing it with an omega seamaster planet ocean which gains +2.3 seconds per day and is absolutely consistent to that day in and day out with +-.04 second per day. Omega absolutely dominates Rolex when it comes to the movement and price and quality for what you pay.

very nice dial! most classic DJ (for me) is the 36mm with the silver dial - timeless!

I scrub mine then they go in the washing machine tied up in a pillow case and on a 20c temp. Then and this is the important part put in shoe trees and let air dry takes where I’m at about 4 days.

If you wear a watch people don't notice until they're next to you, they'll assume you may have other qualities which are not conspicuously displayed. If they can see the watch as you're walking towards them, it's the opposite.
