    I’m waiting for this same piece for my wife. I have a datejust 36 and have had it since 1990. Paid $1300 then. It’s plenty durable. I still love it.

    Good morning. I think there is a prominent situation, created by Rolex and other brands, where ADs are acting as they were so special, which is laughable, and where sellers in the Grey market are taking advantage of ( and I agree with them). To wait for a watch (on average) for one to five years is ridiculous. At the end, you will pay more money than if you bought it today at retail ( all brands raise their prices one to four times a year on average). In addition, you are the one not allowing yourself to enjoy the watch whenever you want it. Moreover, you can always negotiate the price to a point where both parties are comfortable. If buying a watch on the secondary market is bad, then why Rolex and other brands have created the CPO? Just a thought thought.

    The last one is a reasonable enough price. This isn’t a plain Jane Rolex. It’s a new model so still quite hard to come by at retail and it’s green which is still ‘in fashion’. Compare it to the silver, black or even blue dials which are being sold for under or around retail on forums.

    Serge, your watch also has the newer movement. I got the new 41mm Champaign two tone and it is more accurate than my Sub Date movement like yours.
    Congrats on your new Lime green model. Delicious!

    The actual value in the gold would surprize you how low it is... i read that there is at most 1 ounce (2000$) of gold in a two tone sub.

    Damn the Datejust 36 mm is small.

    I've heard rumours your watch might get discontinued this year in the green, which means it would be worth even more!!
    But yeah prices are crazy, I'm yet to afford a Rolex so stick to Tudors are feel they suit my personality more and are amazing value for money.

    Nobody should be that stupid to pay 3-4k premium just to not wait 6 month.
    It is a nice feeling and essential part of the whole watch game if you have to patience for it.
    There is a significant difference in the asking prices and the real market ones. Prices will continue to drop so no point for paying any premium on overrated rolex products

    Problem is that I can't even get on the list. AD tells me to walk in every now and then and maybe get lucky. Nobody got time for a year of asslicking to get a watch. So yeah.. I think I will be paying €4k extra on the secondary market

    Be happy, buy retail and you make money. Your net worth increases. Of course only for some models. Supply demand easy.

  • @a004
    @a004 ปีที่แล้ว

    Buddy there's a difference between selling price (dealer sells the watch) and liquidation price (what dealer pays you for the watch).
    Granted, that model will still get you 1-2k CAD over retail. So my advice is take the profit now before datejusts fall further.
    You have a sub which is a far superior watch, you don't need a datejust.

    Hi. I get the impression that Rolex is your life goal or the best thing that happened in your life. Believe me, nobody needs a collection of watches, one watch is enough. It doesn't even have to be a Rolex. It's not a problem to spend a lot of money to have a good watch, it's much smarter to buy a good watch cheap - such watches still exist, but you won't discover them by watching TH-cam dodgers. Don't watch the viral marketing hustlers - it will give you more happiness than any watch. The more watches you have, the more unhappy and enslaved you will be, minimalism will make you free. No rolex has ever given me as much joy as found after months of searching, not produced for years, but brand new, cheap Certina with good movement. But in order to search, you must have knowledge. You won't gain knowledge from a cunning men from TH-cam, a cunning man constantly fools you.
