That's too bad you have that ding. I would definitely be bothered by that. Upon close inspection, would you think someone could notice the ding at all? I own the Champaign Rolesar 42 model, but haven't worn it much. Randy-IL
The great thing about flutted bezels is that unlike the plain bezels, it hides the eventual nicks and dings of a well-used and well- loved beauty of a chronometer. I only buy new watches. I want all of the scratches to be mine as I go through life. It's only a watch. By the way too, the Sub can get just as "damaged"
@@NikonFM2n Yeah but it won’t scratch and it certainly would’ve shaken this off no problem. I’ve slammed my sub into steel before.. no comparison at all between the braun of a Sub over a DJ.
Sorry about the watch. It’s tough to spend the money and see it get dinged up but that’s how it goes when you wear it. It either gets used as a tool, or put away.. but what’s the point in just putting something away in a box?
You could wear an arm band over it when cycling. I think the two watches make a great combination. Would like to see a vdo about life in Toronto (I think that’s where you are!)
I very recently changed my mind about wanting a DJ with fluted bezel to solid bezel. This video reinforces my decision. I *do* want the jubilee bracelet, though.
Pro tip: daily a sports diver, and reserve the dressy datejust for special occasions. Rationale: damaging sports divers just adds character, whereas, it's better to keep dress pieces in pristine condition for those special occasions and outings (e.g. graduations, dinners, etc).
Yea this dude is ragging on the datejust when he’s riding around on a bike 😂 if you make these types of purchases, it’s assumed that you’ve also upgraded your lifestyle
Hi Serge! Love your videos. Fellow Canadian and watch lover on the west coast. I really like your videos on watch news (Basel world) and your take around TPT. I would love to see more content around that!
Rolex can polish any for their bezels and make them look new (or they can replace them at a reduced cost)....I once had a platinum yacht master with a severely damaged bezel from a fall (I tripped off a curb at the airport and fell in a way that my watch was smashed on the curb). Rolex was able to repair and refinish the platinum bezel correctly. Even the sales people were impressed. BTW, if you are the bothered by such a small nick you should NEVER but another watch with precious metal again...stick to steel....and even that gets nicked over time.
Unfortunately the downside of soft precious metals, that's why I love my Omega GM they went to the trouble of using Tunsten Carbide for the fluted bezel, not in pervious but still extremely damage resistant.
What mark?? 😂 that’s minor. They may be able to repair it. Keep wearing it, it’s a beautiful watch. How about another watch TH-camr PARODY video?? Those are hilarious 😂🙌🏻👍🏻
@@SS-zz3tk All current Datejust models have fluted-bezels that are gold (white, yellow, or rose). Non-fluted bezels come in steel, yellow gold, or rose gold.
Don’t ever polish it, it’s character marks!

That watch is absolutely beautiful 🔥 hopefully you can get the mark out
Cool sunglasses..I guess it is from Oliver Peoples..Correct me if I am wrong...Can you kindly share the models' name?
Laser welded with gold would fix it ASAP
Rolex uses a special white gold alloy, so they’d need to use something that would match that
@@tcnoble yes. I would let Rolex do it

No lol a Sub has a ceramic bezel so this would never happen.
@anthonyb2990 hahahahahaha, ceramics shatter when it's hit hard enough. There are no guarantees in life.

Hello what is your wrist circumference? Trying to decide between 36 and 41. Thanks
I dinged mine in the first week but I don’t mind so much now, each mark makes it my watch. Watches are made to be worn.

Great idea! Thank you for the suggestion

That’s exactly why I got the Smooth bezel on jubilee because I chipped a previous gold Rolex and it couldn’t be repaired.
What happened to your Wimbledon? If sold it, what was wrong with the watch?
Nothing was wrong with it, I just sold it to get a mint green one. I do regret selling it though..
@@simplysergioo It looked beautiful. Were you wearing it when playing tennis all the time?
@@simplysergioo would you exchange your mint green one back for a Wimbledon?

I had the same issue you can get it fixed by Rolex, please document how Rolex fixes it etc
Scratches and chips in your Rolex watch is something like a History in your life
Those are great sunglasses. What brand please? A review of them please?
Gold is very soft and repairable
I got a Steinhart back when you did, do you still have it?
No I sold it. It held great value though and it was pretty
You could get it re-cut I think if it bothers you. By the way the Datejust models fit your wrist so well I must say.
The Datejust cyclops is glued on😂 trash
How did this happen?
honestly no clue, seems like something hit me rather than me hitting it. A rock jumped up from a tire while i was cycling to work?
don't cry about these little things
Rolex would replace the bezel with a new one...

Is it white gold? I thought datejust is made from steel, no?

I still want a Datejust 36 just without a fluted bezel.
Tool watch vs. Dress watch
precisely
The date just is not an active wear watch
It's an absolute stunner for sure
First world problem.
Agreed
Send it to Rolliworks they will fill in the dent
Can you make a video about the corruption of Rolex AD in Markham selling watches to Asian visiting from China instead of to local Canadians.
It’s not corruption… it’s business
White gold man, quite soft indeed and will only hold up long term spending its life under a shirt cuff.
How about a video of you cooking dinner? Or one about your morning routine?
Sell it if you can
