    Well, it definitely sucks, but there's a simple solution to that which is changing the strap into a NATO one. It'll separate the watch from your hand. That's how I wear my watch. NATO is comfortable, has plenty of cool patterns/colors and will not get dirty quickly - and if it does, it is easy to clean. Try it, if you haven't already.

    As a retired watchmaker with over 70 years experience i must say that I definitely anticipated some problems with the quality of the Omega Swatch without a doubt. I believe that this "collaboration" between Omega and Swatch was no more than a licensing deal between the two companies whereby Omega's licensed it's name to Swatch for profit, nothing more, nothing less. Any and all design, workmanship, manufacturing, etc., of the watch was 100% entirely Swatch brands responsibility as it is quite evident now that the workmanship on these watches are not up to standard. Good luck to all those who rushed out to buy these in multiples thinking that they will be a collector's item in the future. Umm, i don't think so !

      @@johnkwan4416 You’ve also got all the Omega fans losing their mind that this is the end of the world as it “cheapens” the brand. In my opinion they are looking at this entirely wrong. As you say, these watches are 100% a Swatch brand product, with Omega licensing the likeness, trademark usage etc. The fact they share the same parent company not withstanding. Swatch Group leadership have done this to reinvigorate the flailing Swatch brand (for which the family have a deep sentimental attachment to as it built their empire).
      People really need to think of these watches as Omega merchandising. Millions more people have heard of Omega today than had 2 weeks ago as well as their historic ties to space exploration. The watch industry pundits haven’t stopped talking about them and all the chatter they have created, as well as mainstream news outlets showing people camped out around city blocks desperately trying to get their hands on a Moonswatch, which is straight out of Apple’s playbook.
      They have also timed it gloriously, with the release strategically taking place just a week before Watches and Wonders 2022, where the talk of the industry has still been a $250 plastic quartz watch instead of the latest releases from Patek, Rolex et al, that no ordinary human is deemed worthy to buy anyway.
      Swatch Group have decided that they want to get the younger generation away from their Apple Watches and into these fun Swatch watches and hopefully the Swatch buying kids of today, will be buying the real Moonwatch in 5 or 10 years when their careers have developed and they have the expendable income required.

    What they can do is send out a stainless steel or plastic cover that doesn't bleed that has adhesive on it and the cut out for the battery hatch i think that should take care of the problem.

    This is a big issue. It will be interesting if tests show bad chemicals or something carcinogenic coming out. Not a joke and definitely will, excuse the pun, tarnish Omega’s reputation if it becomes dangerous.

    Plastic to absorb by skin? How should that work? It should be a mixture of plastic and ceramic. Both should not do harm to your body. The question is more like where does the color come from. Is it a color added with a solvent to the material or is the ceramic carrying the color and what you find on your skin ist color ceramic.

    It's not an Omega Swatch, it's a Swatch Fauxmega. The fact that people were falling all over themselves to pay $260USD for a plastic watch made me question the intelligence of human beings.

    I agree. A big fail. This is a cheap, poorly made, disposable plastic watch that looks like a Speedy but is a piece of junk and not worth $260. This will not end well for Omega.

    Major health issue. Seriously? It's dye. I don't think they will recall. I believe its just the blue version and they will fix it going forward. Oh yeah collectable because people want a blue wrist. I don't think so. Seriously get your submariner fixed. No way that bezel pip should be like that. I would be more worried about that and I hate all the moon swatch straps.

    Does the dye leak on other Swatches? Maybe this is just a Swatch thing?

    • @hummingbird71
      @hummingbird71 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the question Swatch has to find the answer to quick. It could be coming from the bioceramic, or it could be from the planet print on the back. However, bioceramic is not a new thing. Swatch has made plenty watches with that material over the past year, and I've never heard of Swatch mass recalling their watches. But at the same time, not many people were aware of bioceramic before the moonswatch craze, so 🤷‍♂️.
      If the dye leak is from the planet print, it could be a relatively easy fix. If it's from the bioceramic, then Swatch has a VERY BIG problem on their hands.

    • @simplyserge5000

      appears to be a large blue stain and an unstained small circle where the battery cap is. So its coming from the case not the battery door.

    The sticker of the planet did not have a proper spray sealer. The ink drips off the sticker and Bernoulli spreads all over the case back. So just carefully remove the sticker if you plan to wear the watch all day. Keep the sticker stored in a mini Ziploc bag and just reapply it when you trade or sell the watch.

    • @Alpinex105
      @Alpinex105 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. It’s not the sticker. It’s the actual case itself. The case leaking dye. Swatch says not a big deal because it will go away after a couple of cleanings. They said it’s non toxic as well.
      That being said. I wouldn’t get this watch.
