The whole audition thing feels like so much pressure😅.. working to make it feel more fun.. between all the work:))).. Hi Neil! New subscriber, just watched 4 of your videos straight through. Thank you so much for the valuable information you share. I have a couple of questions based on what I’ve seen so far. What CRM do you use to send out 100 emails and nurture every 6-12 months? Also, how can I find out which companies have a roster of in house voice over artists? Any tips would be greatly appreciated:) On to the next video!☺️

Any chance you’re still monitoring these comments form a year old video? I’m just getting started and everything has directed me to Fiverr to get started. So I’ve been putting a TON of work into setting up my profile as professionally as I can. But now I see your video talking about blacklisting and it a the first I’ve heard of it. Has anything changed in the year since you posted this? Am I wasting my time or should I still move forward?

Can I do voice overs for audio books on utube using my smartphone?

I'm hoping it pays off eventually. I'm getting into it a bit older, and hopefully a bit wiser and with a deal more patience than some younger folks. It may never work out to be a full-time job for me, as much as I'd like it to. But I've let enough dreams sail past me in the name of expedience or of necessity, or by way of indecision, so I'll be damned if I'm not going to make a go of this one before I shuffle off this mortal coil.

I am still learning about commercial vs broadcast rights. So lets say for example someome uses your voice for purposes not originally recommended. What does Fiverr do to help you? Is there any legal recourse at all?

Hi Neil, in the min 16:25 in my case Reaper doesn't show up the option "Auxiliary Imput L+R", in Detector Imput. It shows another options but no the one that u showed. I wonder if this is very important when recording and editing audio? And another question that I had is, Im having a little of delay and reverb while speaking to the mic. Im using the Audio Technica 2005 via USB to my PC, Win10, and my Options- Audio-Device preferences in Reaper Im using WASAPI, because it handles better the delay and reverb than Wave out, but there's still some delay and reverb. Also I have my headset conected to the microphone imput audio jack, so that way I can hear myself while speaking. Could be this the source of the issue? :(

I had to bow out of doing a project, a fantasy novel, that was written at below 3rd grade reading level, with poor grammar, sentence fragments, run-on sentences, character dialogue that had no end quotation marks so I didn't know that the character had stopped speaking and 3rd-person narration had resumed.

most of the auditions want american english accents, very few want british or Scottish accents sadly. I SPENT TIME RECORDING AN AUDITION, SUBMITTED IT. THEN GOT AN EMAIL SAYING THE AUTHOR HAD WITHDRAWN THE BOOK. WHICH WAS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MY TIME AND EFFORT

Just started a couple of days ago! Thank you for the information as I am new to doing voice overs for people. I’m more of a voice impressionist but they can also order my natural voice as well. Say if they wanted my Pennywise voice and it’s for commercial use. Do I charge for that license? Technically it’s not my natural voice.

Starnow has always felt a little bit predatory to me, in their business model / marketing strategy. You've kind of confirmed it, despite listing valid pro's going for them, so thank you for that.

Needed to hear this. Did FM Radio and some production about a decade ago, want to get back in voice scene again. Thanks for the confidence booster.
