I do digital marketing and I have one client that this happens All the time. I'm ready to drop him because it's not fair to him and I'm trying to get into voiceover anyway. You got this. 💗
@@CrownStagVoiceover no, I was equating the experience. So, I've been a digital marketer for 10 years. I know what I'm doing, I'm creative and can usually whip up something cool in a matter of minutes, but for this guy, he asks me to do something (timing is an issue) and I just mess it up every time lately. It's horrible! It's just this one client. I don't know why. Lol.
Hey! Thank you for sharing this! I have my first live directed session tomorrow and I'm shaking (I'm so nervous when I think about it), but! hearing horror stories like this really helps me know what I can work on/control and what I can't. Thanks for posting this! It helps a lot!
Hey Neil, I know this may not mean much, but try to keep your head up and not let it bother you. I'm kinda going through something similar too right now, I may be losing my contract with a company I do work with, and if I do then I will lose my business and my employees will be without a job. Not voice over related, but I think the same headaches and frustrations are there. So trust me, I know telling you to keep your head up doesn't go that far, but try not to let it eat you brother, it will only make you feel worse and sick. If you ever need someone to talk to, even if it's just to vent, do not think twice about reaching out to me. I'm in the discord so I'm just a message away.
Hi. This question is related but not related to this video. Lol. On the review of Bunny Studio you stated that we don’t have access to communication with clients. Does that mean that their are no live or directed sessions? Is everything self directed? I hate those so that would be a plus.
I have yet to have a live session. When I get booked through bunny it’s usually a project with direction written and then multiple cycles of submission to get it correct. It’s pretty frustrating. I had a casual read which ended up in me reading it practically mono tone in order for the client to be happy.
Hey Neil, I am in desperate need of your advice. I am getting hired off platform from Upwork and I have fears it may be a scam. I say this because they asked me to go off platform for starters. And in my employment letter they are saying they are sending me a computer and equipment for the voice over work. I am so confused by this. Is this normal?
Is this for a regular job? I.e you are going to voice all of their things? I have never been sent IT equipment to record - it’s never even come up. The only people I assume would get that are those who work for a company like what culture who record exclusively for that company and do daily work
@@CrownStagVoiceover yes supposedly for regular work. But it’s an ice company “Arctic Glacier”. It’s a real company, but it could be someone posing as them. I reached out to their HR dept and am waiting for a call back to make sure the people I’ve worked with are real. Hopefully they are.
I've seen that where a company provides the talent the equipment on Backstage a few times, but Backstage will not approve it if it isn't legit! I would check it out definitely, good luck!

No problem. You will be fine, just listen to what they say and you will be good
I haven’t watched this yet (will watch later tonight) but I’m already feeling it!
Haha, that’s some super empathy right there
You’re amazing. If we were always perfect, we’d be AI, and that would suck.

Hello Neil, Would it be possible for me to drop you an email from the address on your website about possibly helping with voiceovers??? Thanks, Sol.
By all means
