Thanks Neil! I find your videos super helpful as a brand new VO. Rates are such a touchy subject especially because they change all the time. What I’m learning is to know your worth and not compromise (too much!) when you don’t need to.

Always be open and flexible, as long as the offer vs ask is reasonable I tend to be happy to flex

Thanks for your continued EXCELLENT content.
VO is certainly an area I want to move towards, but don’t want to rush into it without the pre-requisite tools & information.
That’s why your videos are so good. I need to watch them all a few times to steady myself before moving towards a VO future.
It may take me a couple of years of prep, trial & error, but your videos will undoubtedly help!

Thanks for the video Neil. I was wondering what your thoughts were on pricing on Fiverr and Upwork and similar sites? I'm finding it a bit tricky to transition out of the super cheap work into the slightly higher paid stuff. I've managed to reach level 1 seller on fiverr in only a month, but my biggest difficulty now is that I'm drowning in work but worried I'll lose all my clients if I start charging fair prices.

It’s a fine balance between quantity and quality I suppose. As long as your work load is manageable you can keep going but don’t be afraid to increase your prices. I still get requests for $10 which I decline if they are unreasonable but I also get regular bookings between £150-300

@@CrownStagVoiceover Thanks dude, yeah that confirms what I was thinking. It's a bit problematic especially when people on jobs you should be paid well for see you're voicing youtube channels for $20 a script - and then want medical narration or elearning for the same per-word price. I've had several agents insist on paying me more than my fiverr rates!
