- Welcome back to Crown Stag voiceover. in todays voice over tips video. We are going to talk about why you may be stuggling to get work. I have spoken to lots of people over that last couple of week who are doing 100's of audition and not getting hired. now, doing auditions and not being hired is part of the job for a voice over, but doing 100's with not a glimmer - you are probably doing something wrong, these are my 5 reasons you're not getting work. Excellent. I got my first paying gig about 3 months and 100+ auditions into it.
As I make more more money, I will invest in coaching from multiple sources because this is actually a lot of fun!

Thanks Neil! My next step is to find someone who can give me a one to one on producing, using Logic Pro X in particular. I can do the basics like trim and fade, but I would love to learn more about eq and reverb etc! I'm working, just not as often as I'd like! Great advice, thanks again!

I've been at VO well below part-time. It's been more of a hobby for ten years. I once told Rob Paulsen I'd be in the industry and...nothing. I don't have a studio space. I have a demo but I haven't leveled up at all. No work to show for myself. I'm always wondering what to do next.

GREAT advice. I would like the next phase tough. Why am I not getting hired after being short-listed so often? My ratio of jobs landed/Shortlist is about 8%. What is a good ratio for when you get this far?
To be honest that’s not a bad ratio. Short listing is really good but ultimately it comes down to the client
