Why CARRY 2 Knives??? My favorite Combo at the Moment.
These are hands down best in class & put to shame many that are twice the price!
I have the Skrama 240 & it is fantastic as a small chopper/machete! Batons fabulous! In general just versatile! Best value in the industry!
Oh yeah, its a fabulous blade for sure! And an amazing value! Thx for watching!
Only thing more relaxing than making feather sticks in the forrest is watching someone make feathersticks
Hahaha😅 thanx for the great comment! Have a great day my friend!
Im a marttiini addict, they are great knives, i just got the marttiini Aapa to add to my collection
They do make really really nice knives! Those were the knives I grew up with here in Finland. Thx for watching, have a great day!
Looks like a great knife! Btw, is that Särmä Fishtail Parka that you are wearing? Considering buying it for this winter... Any downsides?
Yes, thats the Parka. Well have to say I have yet to find any downsides. I love the jacket. This one I have used now over 5 yrs. Iiked it so much that I bought another one. So I have two😅 Thx for stopping by my friend!
@OldForestBushcraft Good to hear. l'll put the order in soon, a small Yule present for myself as I'm taking a break from buying knives 😁. Seems like a great jacket! Merry Yule to you! 🌲
Hope you like it as much as I do! Merry Yule to you also! 🎄☀️🎄@@kv3515
Looks like a really great blade! Glad you're enjoying it so much!
Really am! Though just first impressions. Have to say this one's a keeper. Might actually be my grail knife. Thanx for stopping by, have great day there on the other side of the pond!
My FAV of all! Best of all the LT Wrights, that says a lot! Much credit to The Knife Connection “TKC” it was their exclusive design and contracted LT Wright to produce it. They knocked it out of the park, LT’s Quality was the icing on the cake!
This a stunning knife, a perfect all rounder in my book. The handle design is to die for, like so often with LTs knives. This really is close to been my Grail knife. Thx for watching my friend, have a great day!
@OldForestBushcraft What's NOT to love, very close in size to the Cub!
Oh yes, the Cub is very similar! Both great knives👍
Nice one! Where to buy it in Europe? Thanks!
I got this through trade so I have pretty much no idea. I think Lamnia in Finland sells some of their knives.. Thx for stopping by!
I hope this helps you, this is the ONLY source for new ones. It is an exclusive by this company in the US. "The Knife Connection" TKC, Note: They can be difficult to get, they just had a run of Magnacut Models, they went very fast, there are some in A2 still available though, you have to just check frequently, also, the sales guy's are WONDERFUL and if you contact them, tell them you are in Europe and what you are wanting "Sabre/Scandi/Flat", they will put you on a contact list and help you. Good luck! Have a Blessed Christmas!👍
@@joncox9719 Thank you very much, you helped alot! Cheers and have a wonderful Christmas!

That looks absolutely fantastic.
Im pretty much in love with this one. Could really be the best all rounder camp knife I ever had. Thx for stopping by my friend, have nice evening there up north!
Congratulations...The Forrest Trail is a favorite...
Seems like a fantastic all rounder camp knife. Possibly the best I've ever owned. Thx for stopping by my friend!
Thanks for showing us scenes of your village, and your knives of the year. My favourite is the bear knife!
@@Embrabrummie glad you enjoyed it! The Karhu Puukko is bloody awesome! Thx for watching my friend, have a great day!
Is this Noormarkku?
Sorry, now I didnt understand what you were askin sir?
Scan grinds always seem better with thinner blade stock imo
There is some truth to that for sure. Though of course depends on the hight of the scandi etc. Thx for stopping by!
Hello, I need some help from someone who knows knives from Finland. I'm trying to make a saami style knife. I've read that they can be as long as short swords around 450mm. Is this true? have you ever seen examples of machete sized leuku?
Well I would say that is very rare. I've seen them in exhibitions or as collectors items, but to be used. Would say pretty much 210-250 is a maximum length. Thx for stopping by, have great day!
I want one😂 , I should have bought this instead of the new Sissipuukko. Oh well maybe next year.
Its a stunning design really. Thanx for stopping by Tim, have a great day!
I do believe it's been LT Wrights most popular knife for a reason. Timeless Kephart design and broomstick handle. Excellent combination! "Nice camera work too!"👍
Im a sucker for all things traditional must say, hence allready a bias there in that sense😀 seems like a fantastic, balanced, workhorse bushcrafter! Thanx for watching my friend, have an excellent day!
I've got one of those, and it's an amazing blade! You'll enjoy it! And it's good to see your face - let's us connect a little better with you! 👍🏻
I think you've mentioned that actually couple of time! Seems like a fantastic knife once again from LT. Thx for watching, have a great day my friend!
Deffo one of my favorites.
It has continued to be one of my absolute favorites over many years now. It really is almost unbeatable for the price. Thx for stopping by Tim, have great day!
I would love it with wood handle
Oh yeah, now that you've mentioned it would be very cool! Thx for watching, have a great day!
Breathy. Sigh away from microphone.
Thanx for the feedback, will try to remember hat in the future👍 Thanx for watching!
Nice video. Life can be difficult at times, but spending time in nature can help. If you were going to buy a Swedish Forest Knife, would you go with the No. 10 or this one? Thanks, my friend. Cheers!
It truly does!! I would say I'd definitely go with this one. Allthough I havent tested the 10. This is such a phenomenal one tool option. Very lightweight, and balanced for its size and robustness. The handle is great for such a big blade. You get a really firm grip. I really like this one👍 Thanx for watching my friend, have a great day!
Thanks! I'm also looking at the Joker Nomad as a potential purchase next year.@OldForestBushcraft
@@8626John The Nomad is also in my shopping list😀
I got a decent deal on the Nomad 6.5, so I ordered it as an early Christmas present to myself. Lol. I'm hoping it will prove to be a robust, one-tool option. @OldForestBushcraft
I love Marttiini knives! Simply perfect 💥👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
Yeah, they are a great value knives for sure👍 Thanx for watching, have a great day!
A knife with a scandy grind I find good for woodwork, but only for that task. That's why I diverted over to full flat and convex grinds that are much more usefully for everyday tasks, and can do the wood tasks quite good as well. I love knives from Lionsteel, Joker knives, JEO Tec and Steel Will.
There is truth in that. One of the reasons I like outback so much. Specially in summer. So basically I tend to use full flat, saber etc in summer. But in wintertime I often do mainly wood related heavy use bushcrafting, and for the I do like Scandi. Its so realiable and sturdy. Though a robust Convex would do the trick also, like Nomad by Joker, ir Fällkniven knives. Thanx for watching, have a great day!
Perfect intro of the village and surroundings and great choice of knives.
Thank you for the comment! I do like it here. Thx for watching my friend, have a great day!
Lovely little village
Hi! I do like it here. Thanx for watching!
😍
Love it, but the hultafors gb heavy duty is cheaper & way tougher. Robust is about £12 hultafors heavy duty is about £5
Have to check that hultafors out! Thx for the tip! Have a great day!
what brand are in your hand?
Hi! The one my hand is Tommi Puukko by Risto Mikkonen. Thx for stopping by!
There is a real beauty to winter.
There truly is!
Fun video! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I knew the Skrama 200 would be in there somewhere. Has the Jakaripuukko 110 replaced the Peltonen ranger knife in your affections? I recently got to spend a day in the forest with the Peltonen, and I was very impressed by it. Cheers!
Thank you! Yeah the Skrama 200 is great! As for Jääkäri 110. It hasnt replaced the Peltonen. I dont ant kmife that would, it continues to to be one of my most used blades. Thanx for watching my friend, have a great day!
Thanks for replying. I really like the look of the Swedish forest knife. I'm sort of comparing it to the Joker Nomad as a possible purchase in the new year.@OldForestBushcraft
@@8626John I really love it. At first I thought did I purchase a too large version. But now after 1 month of use, no way. I love it as a one tool option.
ever try the sissi pukko? im sorry i think i spelled it wrong

FANTASTIC KNIVES ALL OF THEM. CAN YOU TELL ME THE NAMES OF THE FIRST THREE FINNISH KNIVES, EXCEPT OF THE TERRAVA SCRAMA 240? WHAT'S YOUR OPINION ABOUT AHTI, WOOD JEWEL, H. ROSELLI AND MALANIKA KNIVES? IF YOU WANT, YOU CAN CHECK THE THREE SCHOOLS OF ELLENIC TRADITIONAL KNIVES FROM SKOPELOS ISLAND, LEFKADA ISLAND AND CRETE ISLAND. ALL THESE THREE AREAS MAKE KNIVES FOR CENTURIES. THE KNIVES FROM SKOPELOS ISLAND ARE VERY CLOSE TO THE PUUKO ONES. IN ELLAS WE HAVE APPROXIMATELY 50 KNIFEMAKERS. THEY SAY THAT THE BEST ONES ARE FROM ZAFIRIOY AND TSAFOS KNIFEMAKERS.
Hi the Finnish puukkos are (in order) Jari Liukko puukko, Yrjö Puronvarsi Laplander Leuku done by Osmo Borodulin of the Topicala, Karhu Puukko by Kivalo Design. I loooove Ahti knives, great value puukkos. Woodjewel is also good. Roselli I like, though the handels are a bit too large for me. But they are great! Malanika I have nit tested. Thx for watching!
@OldForestBushcraft THANK YOU VERY MUCH. CHECK THE GREEK KNIVES. FROM THE ROSELLI I LIKE THE FULL TANG ONES. THE CASSTROM N10, I HAVE IT AND THE LARSE FALT ALSO. THEY ARE EXCELLENT KNIVES. ALSO, THE JOKER BUSHCRAFT ONES FROM SPAIN AND THEY ARE NOT VERY EXPENSIVE.
My new knife for this year is a Woodsknife Puukku 105. It is so nice my son said he wanted one for Christmas. Very hard to find these in Canada so I ordered it from Finland. Really nice village you live in. Thanks.
I’ve had very good experinces with Woodsknives awesome QPR blades. Thanx for watching my friend, have a great day!
Really great knives, Ilari! You've picked up some great blades this year! As you know, I was in your village last June on my sister's prompting. It is indeed a beautiful place. Lovely in the winter too, I see. 👍🏻
Oh yeah, I remember you visited here in early summer. Next time coffee in my garden! I actually even prefere the autumn and winter here, less tourists😅. Thanx for watching my friend, have a great day!🇨🇦🇫🇮
Very beautiful village
I also think it is. Specially in winter, very peacefull. Thanx for watching!
The karhu looks fantastic. I definitely need to get round to buying the Kuukkeli. I see you have snow. Ours came a bit late this year. Great selection of knives Ilari.
The winter here alao very late. Last year this time we had one meter snow😅 Have to say I really dig the Karhu, original and balanced design. The Kuukkeli looks also nice. Thanx for watching my friend, have a great day!
How does the overland compare to the large northern hunter? Which do you like better?
Hi! I've never tested the overland, looks nice though! The LNH is a fantastic blade! Thanx for watching!
Sorry wrong knife 😂. I was wondering how the outback compares to the lnh.
@@tkeefe0601 oh, a good question! I actually have to say I prefere the Outback by far. Just more versitale, better handle, as slicy, but also more robust. But the LNH is great also.
Great choice of knives, I love the Leuku

Did you check out the new Peltonen? You're gonna like it... I ordered it immediately!
You mean the new version of the M95? I actually have it. Totally awesome, and improved version of the Sissipuukko…

Beautiful Village! Thanks for showing the beauty, especially in the winter! Great 2024 selection, but they are ALL winners in my book! Your #1 choice "Don't ask me to pronounce it, Ha!" is quite beautiful, but also such quality! My Puronvarsi 125 Puukko is incredible, it's easy to see why that Puuko is your favorite! Again, great line up, it's like deciding which one of your children is your favorite! Ha! Thx for sharing, always learning so much! Thx! 👍 "Would it be possible to post the brand/maker and model of each Finnish knife? THX!"
‘They are ALL winners in my book’ They definitely are! so hard to pick the best (bests). Also many nice ones were left out. Now even when writing, I thought I should’ve showed some few other knives also. Glad you liked also the intro! Thx for watching, have an awesome day!
@OldForestBushcraft As far as US made, I agree totally on the Rogue River, the moment I first held mine, I said: THIS IS THE KNIFE, my search is over! "MY" Perfect knife due to the fit in my hand and ergonomics, that belly and slight "angle" downward just connected with me! Every hand is different, but this one was THE ONE that seemed to be custom made for MY hand, as though it was poured into my hand! Just wish they made it in a sabre grind too! I contacted "Knives Ship Free" owner about a sabre grind model, but he is just sticking with the scandi for now, also wish it was offered in a CPM-3V, WHOA! "I can dream!" Ha! He is the one that designed it and had LT produce it for his business as an exclusive! Again, fabulous line up of best! "ALSO, the Fallkniven has got to be my FAV 'All Arounder" especially in Elmax! And Also, Haaa! It's a sickness, I swear!
Agreed, RR in saber and with supersteel would a total winner. The handle is I really the most comfortable of all. Like it was molded to into my hand. @@joncox9719
