Thanks for the thorough review! I own the predecessor B40 with those edgy scales resembling handles of japanese chef knives. Is has the same scales of wood called Santos I believe. I like my B40, very versatile! And like a commentator already recommended I modified the edge geometry to a thinner convex and also flattened and sharpened the crowned spine. It works even far better now for me. :) 2 things I didn't like that much is the sharp pommel and the sheath so I ground that flattened and bevelled the pommel and made a new sheath as I prefer deep pouch style sheaths without snap. Like your vids a lot, also telling about finnish nature and outdoor life! I'm currently on a trip through the lakelands and further north and enjoying it a lot with all mother nature has to give right now! 😋
Just realized that for some weird reason I'm not subscribed to your channel even though I could swear I subscribed a while ago... But anywho subscribed now! Nice knife and nice video as always Ilari! Gotta check out Lionsteel...
I am somewhat concerned that your camera has gotten lost or that some catastrophe has befallen you. Hope all is well an that you will soon be back to regular posting your wonderful videos. The “Shorts” are nice to see, but they are just teasing me, but also letting me know that you are still alive. I recently traded one of my Tapio Wirkkala Puukko’s for a Spyderco, Pekka Tuominen, designed puukko. I may never on my retirement pay check to be able to afford a hand forged Pekka Tuominen puukko, this is maybe as close as I will get to the real thing. I was raised in Northern Minnesota on a farm that was homesteaded by a Finnish man with a last name of Tuominen that emigrated to that wonderful little spot on the the Meadow Brook. If you ever get a chance to review one of Pekka Tuominen’s Puukko’s I for one would be very happy. Thanks for having this wonderful site.
Hi Richard! Will do shortly again longer videos! Have been a bit hectic autumn, and haven't had the time to do those recently. Oh man, I still regret not buying the Tuominen Spyderco second hand when I had the change. Was crazy cheap. I would LOVE to get my hands on on one his blades. Hopefully in the future. Thanx for watching my friend, and supporting the channel. Cheers from Fiskars! -Ilari
Interesting to see the different types of mushrooms in Finland. I think I read that you have Morels there too??? 🤔 Looks like a nice forest companion knife. Best wishes for the mushroom harvest.👍👍
Yes, here are Morels too! Where I live is very nice mushroom forests. Lots of different species. I collect many of them to restaurants etc. Thanx for watching my friend!
Looks good, the Italians make some top notch stuff. Wrens always amaze me (we don't have them this far north) so tiny but so bloody loud. Did you see my comment about the mushroom? Sometimes I find when I comment at the start of a video the comment disappears. Awesome video Ilari. TH-cam didn't notify me for some reason. Just as well you posted on Instagram.
They are indeed loud! And they sung at least last week in few parts of the forests nearby when all the other birds have already stopped singing while ago. Energig little birds. Though to photograph though.. Thanx for watching Tim!
I am envious of you knowing your local mushrooms well. I know I'm missing out around here, through my own ignorance :D I've been carrying a Lionsteel made knife in my right pocket every day for about a month. It's a Spydie Spy Opera and it is very well made. 'A lovely whittler.
Well have been a passion of mine since 30 years;). That model I dont know. Will check it out. This is my first lionsteel. And wont be my last. Thanx for watching, have a great day!
Wow, such a wide variety of mushrooms all in one location! So interesting! Lionsteel makes some wonderful knives, and easy on your pocket book! The B-41 is a "simple" knife design, simple can be very good, sometimes when a designer "Over Thinks" a design, he ends up taking away some of the qualities. I think that's why many of the LT Wright designs excel! Great review! Thank you!
Indeed! At first I didnt know what to think of it. Closest knife to this I have is the Classic freedom. With rounded spine, textured handle etc. But I like this more. Somehow fits my hand very nicely, allthough at first wasnt super impressed. Like often the case with lets say LT Wright knives. Wierd. Byt the more I used it more I liked it. Also the combination with the fantastic sheath works. So see this becoming a use knife for me. Thanx for watching, have a great day!
Found your channel looking for bark river videos and joined. Although gotta say I’m disappointed you don’t spend the first 20min talking about the sheath and showing the details of the drain holes like 99% of ‘Merican channels…the best ones show the boxes the knife ships in. If u didn’t catch my sarcasm I really think there should be a separate circle in Hell for those guys that spend most of the time on the packaging. I also think you, Joe x, and DBK have the best videos and all very different. Most in NA are like the above. The European channels are much better but the English Isles guys spend too much time looking for a decent log they never get….like every single one. Thanks for your content!
Cool knife and nice video.
Thanx for watching my friend!

To my brain, the thumbnail shows a shoe with a knife bottom 😅
Haha😂 maybe that will attract attention then...
This knife caches rust fast... And its a pain to sharpen...
Havent yet noticed it, but will keep my on it.
Thx for watching!
