It is excactly so, life is simple and good in such a days. Allthough I love all the seasons outdoors, and each have different character, it could be that the late winter (kevättalvi) could be actually my favorite. There's certain peace allround, days are getting a bit longer, with gorgeous evenings, sun starts to warm just a bit, but everything is wonderfully fresh and crisp. Theres just something..

Thanks for showing this knife! I hadn’t heard about Kivalo Design before this. And as much as I like our traditional Finnish design, I also love to see some fresh ideas that still build upon our old knife traditions. Their knives seem to be fresh, stylish, funny, playful, but still clearly Finnish puukkos. And very clever - the minimalistic features really make them look like the birds they are named after, e.g. the Kuukkeli, Korppi, Pöllö etc. Nice!

You don't see the grouse until you see it then it is so clear. They have really thought about the aesthetics on this one, it looks stunning. Looks very functional too.
The sheer functionality was a surprise. One of my absolute favorite neck knives at the moment. Specially now in winter.

@@OldForestBushcraft Never really been one for neck knives myself. Sometimes one of the smaller mora classics. Going to be trying to carry the Joker avispa round my neck this week and see how much that annoys me 😂
@@KuukkeliBushcraft oh yeah the avispa. Looks handy. I still haven't even tested any Joker knives. That needs to end, lol. I do so crazy amounts of mushroom foraging during autumn ( sell them also to restaurants) and for that I mostly prefere neck knives, so the habit has kind of stuck. But I bet this works on the belt also. Good quality sheath.

Yeah, me too. I like the proportions, and blade shape a lot! Havent pushed the steel too much, but being 80crv2, Im pretty confident its going to be more than ok.

Cant actually wait for to the Fishing season to start (well I do some ice fishing but not really my passion). About in one month starts fly fishing for me. And as soon as the ice cover in the sea melts, will head there for sea trout fishing!

Burrr! Ha! After 12 years in Alaska, I am glad I live in the Desert now! Ha! Actually, the winters in the Great North are beautiful! Love the scenery! The handle on that Puukko looks so comfortable and hand filling for those with big hands! Nice!
Haha, I can understand! Would actually love to visit the Desert. Never seen it. Been only in the Jungle couple of times.
The handle is surprisingly nice, and works so well with gloves on also, for such a small edc blade.

Good day sir! I have been making knives off and on for 40 years. Just finished a mora with spalted tulipwood handle. Would love a source or info on making the formed ferrules they commonly use. I make bolsters of brass, nickel and aluminum but would like to use ferrules if I can figure a die system to make them, or purchase them. Love your videos, thanks!

I think it's beautiful and I'm afraid I do buy my knives based on their looks, although it's handy if they happen to be useful and usable as well.😊
You've got me looking at the whole range of Kivalo's and now I MUST have some.😂 I think the Kukkeli looks fantastic and the Aurora too. I'm wondering if the beak on the Raven model might be a weak spot but there's only one way to find out!😂
