Sorry to hear you have gone through a divorce - I am lucky in that respect, in that my wife and I have been very happily an item for 45 years - our 5th Grandchild is due in 10 days. I have the Casstrom no.10, which I have owned for perhaps 14 years or so. I don't need the no14 - but I certainly want one! I never ask my wife if she actually needs another handbag. She never asks me if I really need yet another knife. One of the reasons we have been so happy together! Regards from Scotland.

@@OldForestBushcraft I hope that you do find the right wife this time. We have a proverb - "A problem shared is a problem halved, a pleasure shared is a pleasure doubled". I enjoyed my camping / kayaking trips alone, but much better when shared with my wife. Even better when shared with 4 women - we have 3 daughters, all of whom are outdoor enthusiasts. Teaching you children or grandchildren campcraft, kayaking, or the constellations in the night sky reignites the original wonder. The sense of history you describe does not only stretch backwards, but forwards. The boy learning how to handle a sea kayak in the 1950s is now the old man waiting to share the secrets of wild country with the boy to be born over the next few days. I am arthritic, and my wife has a dodgy heart, but, what a wonderful life we have had!

Wrestled with the idea of moving to a bigger city after work and financial gains versus staying here and being happy while barely making my living. I have a healthy baby boy now, an awesome working place and a growing collection of knives I get to use in proper nature just a few minutes drive from where I live... So no complaints.

I enjoy being taken along on your walks, stopping for something to eat, brewing tea, in the forest of Finland. I suspected that something was going on in your life this summer, little short video, one that you mentioned that you were at your girlfriend’s home. Well you don’t post that unless you want your wife to know. So, now we know too. Not an easy time for anyone involved, especially your daughter. Of course you know, so back to Forest/knife talk. Your feelings of a”Sense of Place” is spot on. I have felt that feeling only in very few places, I strongly feel it, as do you. I like the looks of this knife also, beautiful art in a functional tool. If I didn’t love the looks and usability of the Finnish Puukko, I would want to carry one of Casström knives on my belt, during my wanderings in the wild country, surrounding my Alaskan home. I would love to wake up some morning in one of JRR Tolkien’s Hobbit Homes. It would be comparable to waking up in a Lapland sod house or a Saami teepee tent, something I thoroughly enjoyed, I play that in my memories all the time. Have a sparkly day, my friend on the other side of the world.

Wall tent is classic Alaska house shaped tent. Large enough for a big cot with thick mattress, so you can sleep off jet lag from the many flying hours to get here. I can take you to places that I fish for Arctic Grayling.

It truly does!! I would say I'd definitely go with this one. Allthough I havent tested the 10. This is such a phenomenal one tool option. Very lightweight, and balanced for its size and robustness. Great video! Very relaxing, thinking of doing it myself tomorrow, hiking and cooking in nature that is. I have the Casström No 10 and Lars Fält, they are great knives. Thinking of pairing this with the No 10 when I don´t bring an axe and want to process wood for cooking. It looks like a "fancy" Terävä 140 or Peltonen M 95 which along with the Benchmade Leuku are my favourite knives. Thanks for another great video and greetings from Sweden :)

One drawback is the family that dont want to go along. Im progressing with my own selfish regime. One huge problem is the cooking. Especially when travelling. So i shrunk the griller and produced this. th-cam.com/video/TyG-5ghtUU8/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared The best thing is that when I want to cook chicken and sausage on the griller you need low and slow. So all you do is place the griller flat and reduce the oxygen. For steak you raise the griller. Sort of turbo . Im not selling or manufacturing it.its just my secret sauce of getting around the difficulty of getting my meat freshly cooked
