    Awesome blades and great video!
Until I actually bought my own sissipuukko, I didn't realize how good it is! It is one of the most versatile knives I own. In fact, it might be THE most versatile knife I own! It can carve, do light chopping, batonning... everything. It's tough as nails and gets razor sharp. Man, it is an amazing knife! I've bonded with mine immediately.
Still on the hunt for my tommi puukko. I have a few similar to a Tommi, but not yet the real thing. One day!
LT is one of my all time favourite makers ever. Just amazing blades!
Great knives man! Thanks for sharing!

      The Sissipuukko is really awesome!!
Its one of those knives that I just dont need to second guess that did I took the right knife with me; its always a good choice to take! And Like you said, it just does everything!! (aaand its a crazy good value!)
And one thing I forgot to mention is that the seasons of course dictate a lot of my knife choices. For example the sissipuukko I use at the moment the most of my knives, and realized it has been the same past winters. Its a great Winter knife! (though I use it all year around).
And of the LT Wrights. These wont the last ones, thats for sure. Such a great knives! Not cheap, but I feel you got lot for the money.
Thanx for watching and have a an awesome weekend my friend!!🌲🔪🌲🌲🐺🌲

I really like the LT Wright Canadian belt knife. That’s the name we have always called them here. I live right next to the Canadian border. It’s an unusual shape, but I like it. The design has been around for many years. I will now have to find one. Thanks. Love the snow. We got some this morning. 🔪🎸

I also like the designer a lot! And agreed its definitely peculiar, somewhat wierd (for some one who has been ysed to Puukkos).
But after usung it I totally fell in love with it. This LT Wright version just really is my most versitale blade.
Glad youre getting the snow also. I just looove winter!
Thanx for watching, and have an awesome Sunday!🌲🔪🌲🐺🌲

@@OldForestBushcraft Thanks, and if I can make one suggestion... the minipuko 85 is a small knife that is in the shadow of its bigger brothers(teravajakaripuko 140), if you take the time to test it and tell us your opinion, that would be great

Thats a great suggestion! I have many times thought of getting the knife. But kind of forget about it. Thanx for reminding me! It went again to my shopping list!👍@@johanesgo8096

So Happy to see you pull out your Brisa Nessmuk! I just love that knife! I bought mine just the blade only and made my own desert ironwood scales. Desert Ironwood comes from the Arizona Desert where I live and is not only beautiful to look at, it's a very hard/durable wood! Great line up of knives! 👍👍

Oh wow, desert ironwood with the brisa nessmuk blade, Awesome!! I’ ve used mine a lot, and it has held so nicely through the years. Very trustworthy knife. A great take on the Nessmuk style imo. (Though people complaining Nessmuk should not have scandi).

Hi friend I watch your videos, I am also a lover of knives and nature.
Finland is a beautiful country and if I were born again I would love to live in this beautiful country, but unfortunately it will become my unfulfilled dream.
I'm a little jealous of you, but I'll keep watching your videos. Hello and good luck.

Its always surprising (and of course nice) to hear people commenting and appreciating my homeland.
I do love it here. Specially at the deep countryside where I live. Don’t really dont care so much about the big cities, lol😂.
Thanx for watching and have a great day my friend!!🌲🔪🌲🐺🌲

An excellent selection of knives. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on them. Certainly a comfortable handle is critical for a knife to be a favorite. We're finally getting some winter weather here too, with snow and near zero temps in the forecast.

Awesome knives, I really don't know which knives I would choose if I was to make this video 😂. Sissipuukko would be one. I guess it's similar to the 5 knives that make me happy video that I made a while ago.
Really nice video Llari. Muotjarunturi is a stunning place. - 44 here yesterday, proper winter.

I will go there this year for sure! Wow!!! -44 That is indeed a proper Winter😀. They promised almost plus degrees in couple of days here, lets see if its going to come loskakelit🤣. Hope not.

Please, remove the rust from the Marttini :) great Choice of Knives you got, i watched yesterday evening, the Video about the Handles, it was great explained :). At the Moment i am on the way to make the dicision between J.P Peltonen M95 an M07, but not the very new Version with sharpening notch. I hope i find the M95 in Green, i think i will goe with the M95, today i was with my Mora Companion Carbon in the Woods, and i had neeed a bit more blade lenght, to hack down some very spikey Bramble :D i think must go with M95.
This little Bark River looks also good :)

Great video. What were the names of the last two knives before the honorable mentions? First one had red on the sheath and the second had birch bark handle with brass harware. Thank you enjoy your content

    • @OldForestBushcraft
      @OldForestBushcraft  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

The one with Red on the sheath is Tommi Puukko by Risto Mikkonen. And the one with Birch Bark is puukko by Kari Saastamoinen.

It's interesting that many Finnish knives have handles that get thicker towards the butt. I notice that such knives tend to be comfortable to hold and I could see how one could do heavy or repetitive tasks more easily with such a knife. It seems like the little finger provides a huge amount of support with the right handle shape. Possibly a sign of the evolutionary nature of Finnish knives?

    • @OldForestBushcraft
      @OldForestBushcraft  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yeah you're right, many have that design. Some more pronounced, some less. The little finger provides then a role of controlling the knife. At best Finnish Puukkos indeed has almost unmatched control and comfort for woodwork. And at best also dont create hotspots. With many, modern blade designs I get fatique and they hurt the hand after using longer periods.
      Very good point!

Got the idea while watching a Japanese Yakuza film. Needed to understand why the little finger was lopped off as punishment (Yubitsume). 😁@@OldForestBushcraft
