    Good looking knife! I have never really looked at Bark River knives. I may have to check them out. Looks a little out of my price range. Beautiful country there!

      Yeah, Bark Rivers are getting pretty expensive. I think the Joker Nomad is as close to this as any other knife. Have heard its a great blade. (Tim from KuukkeliBushcraft uses it)
      Thanx for watching, have a great day!🌲❄️🌲

      I don't know if I could bring myself to carry a really expensive knife in the woods for fear of losing it. Lol@@OldForestBushcraft

      That is a valid concern imo. Thats why I dont use my trc Classic Freedom that much. Might sell it. Bravo is also expensive ofc, I still do use it a lot. Though would not take it to long hiking trip etc. Maybe bacause I bought it second hand with great price (Would not pay the full price). Dunno.
      Thats why knives like Jääkäripuukkos, Peltonen M95 or inexpensive puukkos like Eräpuu, Ahti etc. are great. @@8626John

    I like the concept of Bark River - small quasi custom runs, interesting materials and many traditional knife designs. Just can't afford them.😥 I noticed in your videos that there hasn't been any fresh snow in a while. Early spring should make for a nice long bushcraft year. Looking forward to this seasons outdoor videos. Cheers,

      I also like their concept. And some very nice designs. But PRICY. And with the QC problems and not always so nice sheaths wouldnt say they are a great value. I love the once that I have, but bought all from second hand with very good prices. (So In that sense they were good values for me.)
      Thanx for watching, have a great day!🌲🔪🌲

      Yeah, the veeeeery long and harsh winter seems to end also quickly. Was one of the coldest in memory. Looking somehow very much for the upcoming season.

    I dare say you give grudgingly kudos to the the Barkey. Bravo 1. There is always room for improvement. As I went down the rabbit hole of collecting knives, one of my first knives was an Esse 5 with upgraded scales. A beast, heavy, indestructible, but not for every task. So when I purchased my first Bark River Bravo it was the Bravo 1.25 in 3V. It is my everything knife. It takes a beating and afterwards a strop to bring it back to shaving sharp. I have been fortunate with all my Bark River purchases. Everyone was flawless from a fit & manufacturing standpoint. I do agree The well made leather sheath for the Bravo is not for me. What ever issue one has with the knife one purchases from Bark River, they will fix any flaw. Replace it if you break it. Iv yet to hand over my knife to someone who didn’t like the ergoes. So in my opinion you can’t go wrong either a Bark River knife. Quality tools for the intended purpose or design. 😁

      Well probably so. I like their knives, and used them over 10 yrs, and owned many. I think Mike Stewart is genius designer and pioneer in. So credit where credit is due. I do have issue with their QC. I live in Finland, and dont want take change if the knife might not be okay, and would have to do the hassle of sending to states etc. With high prices one have expect certain things.
      Nevertheless I just bought today (second hand) the Cub in 3v. Which seems like a super design. Hope the Finish is ok. So I do like their knives. (Though I prefere LT Wright. Perfect Fit&finish, and imo better ergos) But lets see the Cub. Looks like a fantastic knife.

      It’s a funny thing this QC, I work on multi million dollar diesel engines made in Finland. I’ll just leave that one there. 😂

      @@Yooper71yes a 100% agree. The shipping & duty tax & the new EU laws are enough to make you cry. Do on that end , your quality check request is warranted. Don’t know where your purchasing from but I’m willing to bet that if you spoke to some one at Knives Ship Free or DLT they would do their best to quality check the knife before shipping. Best of luck

    Love the handle color, plus the handle! What a nice knife! It's hard to find a BRK that does not fit your hand well! Wonderful handles! The blades are outstanding too! But, like you said, their sheaths are not up to par with the knives, I never even open the sheaths that come with the BRK, I leave them in the box and use my custom sheaths! Great review! Thx!

      It really is a great one! I love the Bravo line up design. And its really a heavy use knife for me and after 1 year has totally convinced me!
      Thanx for watching, have an awesome day!🌲🔪🌲

    The handle looks really nice. Convex grind a bit like the Nomad. Wich is great at battoning. Even if I was struggling in my last video 😂(that was the wood).
    Awesome video mate.

    • @OldForestBushcraft
      @OldForestBushcraft  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think they are extremrly similar knives. Convex, high blade shape, exact same thickness, even handle.
      Nomad better value I would think. Bark Rivers are getting really expensive (I bought this second hand, as I did with all the Bark Rivers I have). Thanx for watching Tim, have a great day!

    I have the bravo and the bravo LT , beautiful knives ! Maybe one day i gonna try the gunny . Concerning the bravo LT . I am more afraid to baton with than my regular bravo 1 because the edge is very thin , he is more on the slicing side than my regular bravo .

  • @dlrmon1
    @dlrmon1 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    If you go with a Bravo 1 LT, you lose that balance you like (Handle Heavy). The Bravo 1.25 LT is a well balanced blade.

    Everyone says the same thing about Bark River: Nice knives, crappy sheaths. VERY expensive. 😊
    There are some great BRK's out there, but there have been some issues with quality control, for sure. Yours looks great, and I'm glad you're happy with it! 😃👍🏻

    • @OldForestBushcraft
      @OldForestBushcraft  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Have been very very happy with this one. Great design imo. Though not perfect either. And the sheath..
      I think if one pays so much money, the sheaths should be well thought out and high quality.
      (Btw. I think the Joker Nomad is pretty close to this.)
      Thanx for watching, have a wonderful day!🌲🔪🌲

    • @OldForestBushcraft
      @OldForestBushcraft  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It came with the Large Northern Hunter. Maybe it was the E size?
      I can double check. Much superior to the original sheath!

    Bark River knives are really nice, but they cost more than I’m willing to spend on a knife. I try to limit myself to $160.00. In the U.S. a person can’t buy a Bark River for for that kind of money. I enjoy your videos. Thanks 🎸🔪

    • @OldForestBushcraft
      @OldForestBushcraft  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, they are very pricy, and considering the sheaths are made somewhere else, and not top quality design, plus QC issues, dont consider them good values. I love few Bark River that I have, but bought them Second hand, with price range 100-200 e. Would not pay the full price.
      Thanx for watching, have a great day!🌲🔪🌲

    You prefer with thumb ramp, or rampless?

    • @OldForestBushcraft
      @OldForestBushcraft  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have to say, at the end I prefere the Rampless, but also the ramp doesnt realy bother me either. Great knife anyways!

    Nice knife but out of my price zone. I'll stick with a cheap Mora and an axe for the splitting 🪓

      Great choice! They are pricy knives, and would have not paid the full price for this, got a good deal secondhand.
