I'm a movie maker and I like rambling about everything.
The Blair Witch Project: A Shot in the Dark
The Blair Witch Project is one of the most upsetting films I have ever seen and I consider it to be one of the best horror films. I was on the brink of tears both times I watched it. It has three incredible performances that create an incredibly visceral experience. The film explores the very reason why we make art and why we document. It is a film that puts into question the purpose of documentation and the contradictions brought about by the age of information, pulling us closer together but as revealed by the cut up and particularly by the ending, ultimately there is a great distance between us.

James Benning is primarily known for his landscape filmmaking and this video is primarily a discussion of his film Ten Skies. This video also serves sort of as an explanation as to why I've been gone so long. Ten Skies is made up of ten shots shot on 16mm film, each ten minutes long, there is no camera movement or narration. The only things to take in are the heavens above and the various sound...
I Love Dark Souls so Here’s a Really Long Review and Analysis About It
มุมมอง 375K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
I've been writing about Dark Souls for nearly a year and this is the end result. I could ramble about the games design, lore, and aesthetic for hours on end and that is exactly what I ended up doing here with this comprehensive review and analysis of my favorite game ever. Hope you enjoy this long winded video filled with, rats, covenants, and quite a bit of Gwyndolin. Links: Here is the covena...
The End of Dark Souls
มุมมอง 12K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Gwyn, Lord of Cinder, is the final boss of Dark Souls and the one responsible for the tragic state of the game's world. The finale to Dark Souls is one of the most memorable moments of any game and for good reason; it is fantastic. It has been such a joy to talk about Dark Souls and it is the best narrative I have ever experienced in a game. #darksouls #darksoulsremastered
The Lost Potential of Lost Izalith
มุมมอง 210K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Alright, I have put it off long enough, it is time that I finally talk about Lost Izalith. I’ve waited so long to talk about this because it is home to some of the most depressing narrative moments while also being a horribly designed area. I don’t like being too negative but that is damn near impossible to do when talking about this clearly rushed and unfinished section of Dark Souls. But if y...
Dark Souls Covenants are the best
มุมมอง 14K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
At its core, Dark Souls is a game about the need for humanity to reach out and make a connection. So it only makes sense that its multiplayer aspects are not only a ton of fun but also a beautiful translation of this game’s message. Despite a majority of the covenants in this game being pvp oriented they all find ways to have their own unique qualities and they also intersect with each other in...
Why this is my favorite moment from Breaking Bad
มุมมอง 3K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
Breaking Bad probably needs know introduction. But there is one moment I have always been particularly fond of and it was right at the start of the series in the Pilot episode. The matches in the pool scene is my absolute favorite scene in the show because of how simple it is and how effective it is at humanizing Walter White. In television series filled with extravagant action scenes, it is th...
How One Line Perfectly Sums Up Dune
มุมมอง 14K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
"Lead them to paradise" is a line that has stuck with me and many other audience members. It is a line that perfectly encapsulates the themes of Frank Herbert's Dune. The story of Paul Atriedes and the Fremen is a tragedy because we see the beauty and the love they have for the world become twisted by prophecy and war. Denis Villeneuve is able to perfectly bring this tragedy to life and through...
The Beast Rabban | Rage Is A Mask
มุมมอง 1.4K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
I've been going through a bit of a Dune Obsession and one performance I can't stop thinking about is Dave Bautista's performance as Glossu Rabban. The Beast Rabban is almost cartoonishly angry but underneath all that rage is a fragile man. I think his performance highlights the self destructive nature of the Harkonnens masterfully. #dune
An Artorias of the Abyss Retrospective
มุมมอง 26K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
Over the years, From Software has gained quite the reputation in regards to their dlc’s for their stellar games and it all started back here with Dark Souls. This DLC offers some of the best boss fights in the entire game with the Sanctuary Guardian, Artorias, Kalameet, and Manus. Artorias of the Abyss is an incredible experience and although it is often regarded as just a boss rush I have real...
The Truth About the Ending of The Sopranos
มุมมอง 1.2K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Sopranos probably has the most iconic ending in the history of television. It was an ending that shocked just about everyone who watched it. It is a polarizing moment in the series with many people unsatisfied with it while others view it as a fitting end to such a foundational show. I am among the crowd that enjoys this ending and I believe it to be the perfect conclusion to Tony Sopranos ...
A Deep Dive Into New Londo | Dark Souls Analysis
มุมมอง 18K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
New Londo ruins is one of the most somber locations in any of the From Software games. It is also home to some of the most frustrating design choices in Dark Souls. But I believe that the great parts of New Londo Ruins outshine the bad parts of it. I want to examine this corner of Dark Souls and its surrounding quest that will take you into Darkroot Garden in search of Artorias the Abysswalker....
A Review of The Sopranos: Road to Respect
มุมมอง 2.6K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Sopranos: Road to Respect is a tv tie-in game for the playstation 2. It was developed by 7-studios and published by THQ. THQ has quite the reputation of publishing licensed games and I find Road to Respect to be one of the most interesting. It follows the story of Joey Larocca and his journey toward becoming a made man. This game is faithful to the show in a lot of great ways but it is prim...
I Have Become Obsessed With Dune

I cannot stop thinking about Dune Part 2 ever since I stepped out of the theater. I've got so much to say about it and I just felt like rambling just so I could get it off my chest. This is one of the greatest adaptations I've ever seen and as a fan of the book I love what they did here. Denis Villeneuve is one of my favorite directors ever and he is truly one of the best filmmakers of our time...
The Coldest Moment in The Sopranos
มุมมอง 15K9 หลายเดือนก่อน
Tony Blundetto was a character I initially rooted for back when I first started watching The Sopranos. I genuinely thought he was going to change for the better but then he took away any hope of that so quickly. His actions created so much tension between the two families and his close relationship with Tony Soprano wasn't enough to protect him. That Animal Blundetto's final scene is one that s...

Pinwheel is very challenging when going there rather early, though. Like, not immediately, ofc, but maybe as the 2nd or 3rd place. Some even theorize that one was supposed to go there earlier, so who knows :')
12:30 This happened with me also
Hm, in the files, the bed of chaos is called "IzalithKing", though, iirc. But no issue with the video or saying "her". I'm just wondering which of both it is :) And ty for the great and hard work and keep the great and informative and enjoyable vids coming! <3
This was a treat to watch.
"That's right cocksucka!"
I actually like Lost Izalith as how it is. Feels pretty liminal with its open spaces.
Yeah... in the ds series there is no "happy" ending anywhere. The whole series is about accepting that the age of fire along with everything that people hold good and happy. The triology is all about just trying to prolong the end, or accepting (walking away from the primal fire)
I just seen the final scene a few mins and what i gotta say is i 4:23 was actually scared like I didn't know what to do or say but just say in my own mind "wake up tony" cause how creepy it got the person was just faceless and pitch black while inside the house looks like hell and I'm somewhat very religious about hell and know everyone has their own versions of hell and seeing a mobster version of hell is unsettling
Dark Souls cured my depression by giving me more depression
7:56 a slow walking dragon thing coming at you id be scared too
6:18 Why does a concentrated spray of water like a firehose hurt you? You're like 60% water. 🙃🙃
lost izalith wall structures is basically tseldora from ds2 but without the fire
6:57 fire Junji Ito reference
The most horrifying part of Phil's character is the fact that he managed to survive 20 years inside of a metal can eating nothing but grilled tissues off of women
Forest hunters can invade infinitely up, but only invade a little bit down. Meaning, if you have a level 400 charecter, youll only ever be invaded, yet your a god. But a low level can invade almost anyone, yet is weaker so pick and choose lol
This was wonderful to watch. I even kept it at 1x speed! Subscribed =)
Hey man, I really enjoy these vids of yours, just stumbled on them and I'm glad I did. I played Dark Souls for a few hours as a kid, and it stuck with me for all my life. There was something about it. It wasn't a kind game, and it wasn't a cruel game either. It was a struggle, and it was what I decided to make of it. A struggle isn't necessarily a bad thing, or a good thing. I find this game hilarious, honestly. I find Sen's Fortress hilarious. I crack up when the ball rolls over me. Thing is, this world will go on without me. Why shouldn't the common Undead steamroll me, why shouldn't the bonfires go on as half coals forever. But I carve out a place in this world. And I lose people, and I lose places of warmth and familiarity. But I keep at it. There is something very funny about this. And there's no lock on the door, you can just come on in, you know? Keep it up man.
Lost Izalith is an allegory for circumcision. Miyazaki is actually a genius. Thank me for this insight.
I am grateful that you devoted 70% of the video to the analysis of Blighttown. Truly one of the Dark Souls areas of all time.
Objectively it's a 6 or 7/10, in my heart it's an 11/10 perfect game. Thanks for the great rambling analysis. Be safe friend, don't you dare go Hollow.
This was amazing and DS1 is one of the best games ever. Take care!
What about Frank Sobotka? I'm not hearing his name in here anywhere.
Finished my first playthrough last night. This is a good video to just chill and think back on it all. It’s been a beautifully harrowing journey lol.
4:30 bullfrog
I remember getting stuck at undead burg bonfire for like 2-3 days and when I finally beat Havel (master key problems) finally moving on to the Taurus Demon and getting out of that area. Yet I never knew you could send the ladder down until I already cleared that area. 😂
Dark souls is still magic to me, I can go back into the game and get lost in it to this day! I even have a tattoo of Solaire of Astora on my calf
YOU CAN USE ALLURING SKULL ON CAPRA!?!?!???????????????????????? my god this game has so much info edit: fire attacks make them not spew toxin upon death, or you can backstab
I really enjoyed this. New fan here 🙏
Such a good vid. I loved how u show off your humor and thoughts about entire areas + parts of the lore, while also slowing down and letting us appreciate the game as you experienced it first hand (sights, audio, etc). Just subscribed! Hope you get around to making content about other games in the series as well 👀
this was hilarious 😂 and what a beautiful house he was 😂
When I got cursed I made a new character and when I made it back to the sewer I didn’t get cursed because I thought you couldn’t cure it
33:14 worst time getting cursed was the basilisks at the bottom of the great hollow tree and had to climb from the ash lake bonfire to the top of the chapel for the purging stone, all while cursed
the fact you made a 3 hour dark soul video and used evangelion font in the balck screens makes me know u have good tastes in medias of all sorts, praise the sun☀️
I never got why bed of chaos gave some people so much trouble its a fun little platforming boss Yall needed to play more ape escape as a kid
2:46:34 No, Siegmeyer doesn't go Hollow. Environmental storytelling, remember? If You look closely You'll see that He has normal, non-hollow skin. He is still human. Siegliende kills Him for I have no idea what reason. I always finish Her off earlier or even better, kill all the monsters in the sewers. With that in mind I always think that Siegmeyer is still safe after that. Don't You dare go hollow.
Whoa wait you can slide down ladders. Wtf how?
Hold B.
When he was in the big house, he compromised, now he's the big house
I think it woulda been cool to also talk about what alot of the early game level design is teaching you. Like the hollow archers shooting you in the back during the Taurus demon teaches you to take the time to turn around before running into areas.
Using the funny ball on Oscar was vile 😂😂😂
Ive really really tried to like this game but holy shit from everything ive done i havent had any fun so far everything has been just a chore especially the bosses moonlight butterfly dogshit capra demon dogshot big yittie goth girl spider bihc excruciatingly boring and drawn out gargoyles were alright at best asylum demon was interesting easy but cool the areas are overly obnoxious with its claustrophobic corridors for zero reason i just havent seen anything to just keep pushing with the game and people keep saying this is suppose to be where the best part is
Ok. Stop playing, then. You don't have to like a game just because everyone else does.
@OlympusPublicAffairs nah im finishing the gane so i can talk my shit i want the u have the right the criticise a souls game badge i seem to need in order to talk about the game
@@jacrispybbq Ok. Have fun.
@OlympusPublicAffairs i wont
@jacrispybbq 👍
Great stuff. I'd love for you to cover some Central/Eastern European cinema at some point. There's a lot of cool stuff to cover there.
This gonna be some "personal opinion" kind of trash I can not agree with from the start. The story telling is neither clever nor anything new. They literally stitched this game together from many already existing ideas and painted this half baked idea over it. The hilarious aspect about this is that mostly mental unstable people project their own pain into this non existing background story - the lore as you call it. This empty void of an existence filled with your own pain and hatred. A story I've heard from thousands of DS players, true losers in any reality. I like Dark Souls myself. All three games in this franchise and also some Sekiro. Good games. But holy canneloni are you Dark Souls fan communities filled with manic/depressed dumpster fires. Soulless and empty walking zombies with no life for once. Only Dark Souls gave them some purpose and now they walk on earth without purpose just waiting for a new Dark Souls to rise from out of the aether. Mental.
They're passionate. No different than someone who stans sports teams or formula one. What pain have they caused you to be so irate?
DS2 is better
(Grabs popcorn)
*Majula theme plays*
While the voiceover isn't quite as clean as it could be, and the editing is a bit inconsistent, the insights and personal touches, along with the humor, are great. Overall, really good video! Stay safe, friend. Don't you dare go hollow.
This vid just taught me you can give items to other players! Now i don’t feel like such a dbag when invade people
Imagine if they made a really good sopranos game. Such a missed opportunity.
I’m imagining Phil capturing Lorraine Colluzo and forcing her to watch slideshows of house building “You see this? This is Phil Leotardo. And this is Phil Leotardo transformed, now do you see?”
To say you love dark souls is to say you love an experiment... huh?
I think those bloated painted world hollows are vulnerable to fire. If I remember correctly they don't release toxic mist if they under flame damage.
this video is a lot funnier than I was expecting it to be lol
