- The Sopranos is a show filled with many surprises. Mobsters in therapy, FBI Informants, but the thing that might surprise the audience the most is the show's exploration of the supernatural. In his arc of the final season, we witness Phil becomes something more than human. This is the closest The Sopranos gets to horror.

This is the most PROFOUND moment in television history. A moment that had me in absolute disbelief.
This IS the moment Phil becomes the House
Phill didn’t really turn into a house, he was in the upstairs room yelling out of the window.
@@fredhammer6413 Incorrect, he was actually the House itself.
@@maylabrown4584 ; that makes no sense whatsoever.
A man cannot turn into a house.
He was just yelling out the window and you couldn’t see him because of the shadows.
@@fredhammer6413 Yes they can, Phil became so embarrassed with his Human Form that he combined with his House, becoming a House.
I love how even Breaking Bad paid homage to this by having Walter White turned into a glass of whiskey at the end of Granite State.
Truly greaseball shit.
- Uncle Fill?
- Uncle Filly-my-ass.
That is a subtle reference that he did 20 years in the can
fill my ass😩😩
His acancion granted him a finer Form He understud the weaknis of his flesh
I m glad someone finally had the balls to touch the sacred and the propane aspect of the Sopranos.
Profane and profane accessories I tell ya hwhat.
@@secondarytrollaccount666 I can already tell, you have a lot of good ideas under your subspecies
Young Carmine.
@@franciscovega2042 Ohh. Walt fuckin Whitman ova here..
I saw this, but then again I have 9 pictures under my subspecies
Phil wanted to turn into a house, he compromised, he turned into a mansion
My estimation of Lavender Rex as a content creator, just fucking skyrocketed.
It’s an honor to be joined by men.
You perfectly nailed the parody of a style that so many channels use unironically.
There's nothing funny or satirical about a grown man turning into a residential building 😢
@@robertmorrison5916whatever happened there..
This scene is far creepier than the Paulie and Virgin Mary scene imo. Phil being so disgusted with his repressed homosexual urges, he rids himself of his flesh and becomes a house. Because a house can't be gay.
*I'm in your house*
😂😂😂😂😂😂
what if the house has a pride flag on it? that is definitely a gay house
@@user-ug5cp6qr5uit disappears ares and trips the happy guy in the bath, a sudden death
men can get inside a house tho
The slowed and reverbed "uncle Philly my ass" almost made me choke on my food
I'm glad you survived!
Phil did 20 fuckin' years as a house or something like that
20 fuckin years on the mortgage, and not a peep!
When you really think about it, Phil's story is just a loose adaptation of Kafka's THE METAMORPHASIS. The only real deviation from the text is that instead of transforming at the beginning of the story, Phil's change happens at the end. David Chase did this because he wanted to show how such a transformation could not simply be a quirk of fate, but a purposeful act caused by decades of exasperation and desire for change. A man may turn into a cockroach at random, but to become a house requires no compromise. Only will.
This is the truth people are scared of
A lot of people don't realize that "Phil Leotardo" is an anagram of "Gregor Samsa". Both names also contain nine letters. I'm pretty sure David Chase did this on purpose.
This is the funniest fandom of all time dead 💀
Never understood why Butchie turned down the power drills when he was now in charge of the upkeep within Phil.
Phil killed Vito because he was being drilled by other men... Butchie was not going to make the same mistake.
Historically, historical changes have come from video essays
The edited fallout ost was gold
Metallic Monks and Sierra Madre ambience
“I’d like to begin again, Butch, let me tell ya”
So.. what was your name again?
Wow, I knew Phil had done time but I never realized he was in for that long. His brother was practically still in diapers when he went away.
You delivered arguably the best and most profound video essay on the sopranos. Be proud and revel in it! I can tell you never compromised making this video. Cheers dude
Making this video felt like I spent 20 years in the can.
Atleast he did not become a leotard
This is art. Very allegorical. A true gift for Sopranos fans everywhere. Subscribed
the sacred and the propane
"Um, then again, on a second watch, it would appear that the most likely explanation is that Frank Vincent could not make it to the set during the shooting of this episode, so the showrunners rewrote it such that Tony and Little Carmine think they are invited to Phil's house for a sitdown, only to be told to get lost by Phil from the upstairs window."
An artless mind
🤓
You are an actual genius. This video is perfection.
I think I've fallen off the deep end
Excellent observations. The sacred AND the propane.
3:38 TURN THAT OFFFFF, Man this video is perfection. Well done.
"Phil reaches a point where he sees his own body as a compromise."
This line is so funny it's ridiculous. It feels like you built the entire video around it.
I kind of did lol
I shake when I think about Phil turning into that house. Horrifying.
He no longer compromised once he became a house. Case in point, those walls? Skim- coat... not that plain sheetrock shit.
No need for an interior decorator either. In fact, the inside is just as mellifluous as the outside. Some say the Leotardo house looks a lot like The Shah of Iran.
a mobster to shah of Iran to a house. that’s a fucking character arc right there
I would argue that on becoming a house, material possessions, and in particular home maintenance items, such as power drills are now more important than ever.
9/10 video
Vito was at a gay club *as a joke*
Genuinely tweaking when I saw Steve’s face and the guy said animal, so seriously what the fuck this is what I need. This is what I wanted and it’s here. God bless you man.
My estimation of Phil Leotardo as a human being and not a house just fucking plummeted
Phill didn’t really turn into a house, he was in the upstairs room yelling out of the window.
such incredible and insightful analysis. bravo rex
Now that's an image!
this video and "How to make Grilled Cheese on the Radiator" being on my front page made me chuckle, good stuff make more
I revisit that video from time to time. It's very insightful.
This is truly haunting analysis. I will never look at the Sopranos the same way.
Bro I love you, this was the best thing ever.
this is one of the best sopranos videos ever made, a true work of art. it told me a couple of tree tings.
Phil forgot to tell the entire neighborhood how he did 20 years in the can. It's kind of rude how Tony didn't offer Phil a gabagool or grilled cheese off a radiator.
best video ive seen in so long
Tell Phil.
I can't. Apparently cooler heads prevailed.
Tell Phil waat? "Da kid. Phil's son".
Great observation, Lavender Rex. The abstraction and the esoteric. Like the dream sequences in the series.
An out of body experience. Reminds me of when Tony was in his coma.
But the house is kinda Bo Peep-ish.
he put phil coming out the closet over when he said “coming out”
I was starting to wonder if anyone noticed
This is a friggin ace.
this is amazing
I applaud this incredible Sopranos scholarship. Phil's reasons for turning into a house is right up there with the obscure and still unknown exact number of years Phil did in prison.
Metallic Monks is such a banger, great analysis.
Phil turning into a house is a joke that will always make me giggle.
outstanding analysis
Yo i love this vid, just FYI I hear a nasty high pitch noise on my right headphone. It's pretty low in the mix just wanted to let u know
Yeah, i was wondering why that house sounded remarkably like the Shah if Iran.
Lmao
Holy moly, this might be a Uncle Philly my ass moment, thank you for creating such a riveting and disturbing creation
It's 3:40 AM rn and I don't know if I'm actually awake or not
I wanted to turn into a beautiful Italian Palazzo. I turned into a quant little house in Queens. I compromised.
Billy... He was just a fucking kid
laughing though the entire video this is the bomb
Uncle Philly my ass. Protecting the likes of rusty milio. Doc santoro.
Because a house always wins.
He's not only Phil but he's also Borko
He is everywhere
I love this community
The things you learn when having the state power of the Shah of Iran
Turning into a house... Whatever happened there
WHAEVA HAPPENED THERE?!
It's because he was the final boss, and the final boss always becomes a house
You need to be famous bro
BRUTAL NEVER STARTED FOR HOUSECELS
Nice music choice!
It's from fallout 1 isn't it?
Love this
I think that if Phil really did spend 20 years in the can, as you claim, he would have mentioned it at some point.
Can a house eat manicotti? 🤔
That was Cool. Good Warning.
This video made my day. I was down bad and this literally brought me back to life
I'm glad that my descent into madness was able to positively impact you!
I wonder if we all were unaware of Phil's machinations. Man. ... spiritual awakenings for us all
That metallic monk in the background 😢
While this is probably the most profound thing ive ever witnessed, the mechanicus soundtrack would have truly signified his disgust of his biological body
It's worth mentioning that One Piece features a Mafia don who can literally turn into a house. If that's not a Sopranos reference, then it's a hilarious coincidence.
What a masterpiece
This was fantastic. Like science fiction.
Well, this was delightful.
Someone actually did this, I salute
This is the most meta joke to come out of the series not even close
Phil got so used to the big house that he couldn't comprise any longer, so he became a big house. Quasimodo predicted this..
Phill didn’t really turn into a house, he was in the upstairs room yelling out of the window.
Give me da Sopranos Creepypasta fotoday
Vito wanted a power drill if you know what I mean...

A true tragedy, he sought to escape the big house but became one instead…
Phill wanted to be the Don of a family, he compromised, and became a house...
He turns into a house, so he can return the favour, and have the closest be in him.
Phill didn’t really turn into a house, he was in the upstairs room yelling out of the window.
What are you talking about? He is obviously a house.
@@LavenderRex7705 ; no, that doesn’t make sense. It’s just him yelling out the window.
🗣 Uncle Philly My Ass 🗣
Awesome 👍 my mom like the sapranoes
He belonged to "Casa nostra"
this man lavender will make a video on phil sacrificing vito to mallug to become a house rather than take a interview from mr. I respect it though, game is game.
