Hi, I'm Steph. I enjoy everything about the outdoors - walking, hiking, camping, mountains, occasional running and pushing myself to see what I am capable of. I love to encourage others to do get out there and have their own awesome adventures.
I am setting myself a challenge of making films of my adventures to hopefully inspire you to get out into the outdoors and to show that it's never too late to put more adventure into your life!
Adventure is out there - let's go!

We Return to Over Owler Tor | Will there be a Camp this time? #wildcamping #peakdistrict
After our washout trip to the Peak District last month, I returned with@ramblingracheltrailtales to try again!
Would we be successful this time? Spoiler alert - yes! We had lovely weather and epic views on Sunday but sadly we had our usual wet and cloudy weather Monday. Packing away wet tents - not nice! Still, we made the best of it and got in a good walk with the large rucksacks.
All good training for my Side 2 Side challenge in June - 520 miles from Land's End to Ness Point for Parkinson's UK - www.justgiving.com/page/stephanie-cooke-side2side

Northamptonshire Boundary Walk | Part 17 | Ashley to Geddington - We Finish It!
มุมมอง 10928 วันที่ผ่านมา
We walked our final section of the Northamptonshire Boundary Walk in February! The theme for the day was mud, mud and more mud as we climbed out of Ashley towards the lovely village of Stoke Albany with a lovely display of snowdrops. After a short hop to Wilbarston we stopped for a break, watching the antics of a couple of red kites swooping gracefully overhead. The next section through the gro...
Solo Wet and Windy Wild Camp... would I bail? | Peak District National Park | Two Day Hike

A Bank Holiday solo adventure in the Peak District! I head for the Dark Peak with my trusty Lanshan to get in a couple of days' training for my Side 2 Side Challenge on the John Merrill Dark Peak Challenge Walk route. I intended to do my second solo wild camp somewhere around Derwent Edge, though I was very nervous and having some serious doubts. I chose the worst night to do this - high winds ...
Wild Camp? We Bailed... Kinder Scout | Grindsbrook Clough | Jacobs Ladder
มุมมอง 296หลายเดือนก่อน
In early March 2024 Rachel and I headed up to the Peak District for a wild camp. Unfortunately the good old Spring weather just wasn't playing ball, so we grabbed a twin room in the Maynard Inn in Grindleford. Fully refreshed after a good night's sleep and a hearty hikers breakfast, we ventured up Kinder Scout via the scrambly Grindsbrook Clough, on through the Woolpacks and down Jacob's Ladder...
Northamptonshire Boundary Walk | Part 16 | Sibbertoft to Ashley
มุมมอง 1582 หลายเดือนก่อน
Our penultimate section of the Northamptonshire Boundary Walk! Starting from Sibbertoft we followed the well-signed Jurassic Way to East Farndon where we had a short break. We headed for Market Harborough where we picked up the Brampton Valley Way, along a disused railway before turning back into fields. After a lunch stop in Braybrooke we followed the Macmillan Way into Brampton Ash and then o...
Eyam - The Plague Village | Bonus Video | Derbyshire #peakdistrictnationalpark
มุมมอง 4542 หลายเดือนก่อน
After completing our Peak Pilgrimage Trail, @ramblingracheltrailtales and I stayed on for an extra day to discover Eyam and learn about the plague story. Eyam suffered an outbreak of Bubonic Plague, known as the Black Death, in 1665-66, when a bundle of cloth containing infected fleas arrived from London. Led by the Reverend William Mompesson and former Rector Thomas Stanley, the villagers chos...
A Spooky Winter Wild Camp in Haunted Woods | Northamptonshire #wildcamping
มุมมอง 1.4K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
@ramblingracheltrailtales and I head off for a February wild camp in woods said to be haunted by the ghost of a murdered woman riding to meet her lover... would we encounter her tonight? What were those screams in the night? We topped this off by a short walk the next day, through the Fawsley estate and a circumference of the lovely Badby Woods. Another great microadventure! 2023 in review | the good bits and the not so good bits

During a wander around the woods at Holme Pierrepont I take a rather belated look back over 2023 - the trials I faced and the wonderful adventures I enjoyed. There were some great moments, far more than I can share here. I'd love to hear what everyone else managed to get up to last year. I hope there were plenty of adventures and outdoor fun! I'd urge everyone to take a few moments to reflect o...

A Chilterns Wild Camp and News | #wildcamping

This weekend I headed off for a proper winter wild camp with @ramblingracheltrailtalesto experience some frosty temperatures - it was a chilly one! Also I have exciting news about this year's adventure! Introducing the Side 2 Side - a crossing of England's widest point, from the most westerly point of Land's End to the most easterly - Ness Point, Lowestoft. That's around 520 miles over 30 days!...

I do regularly on the local river banks .
I sometimes prefer a moody looking day to the sunshine. Makes great atmospherics
Very true, some of those edges look more dramatic in moodier lighting
Another great video Steph
Thanks a lot ❤️
f no
yes I would
It’s a good ‘un
I bet that path has caused a few clenched bums in it's time. 😅😅 Where is that Steph? 👍👍
It’s Giddy Edge in Matlock from the top of High Tor, not actually as bad as it looks!
@@endurance-adventures Thanks Steph. Looks an interesting place. 👍👍
Glad you made it back, just shows hoe different the same spot can be weeks apart. Great stuff 👍
Thanks, yes or even in the same day! Set of for a walk yesterday in pouring rain and finished in glorious sunshine! ☀️
Stunning area, with great views... this time. Would love to do this walk sometime. Xx 👍🏻🏕🚶♀️🎒💪🏻
Yes it’s a good ‘un, would be good to revisit in clearer drier weather… if we ever get that again!! 😂😂 xx
great vlog again steph loved it 👌👌👌
Thanks so much, I appreciate you watching ☺️
@@endurance-adventures no problem steth i watch them all
Where did U park your car for the wild camp...I fancy going in August? 🤔👍
If you drive through Grindleford there’s a long laybye on the left as you go up the hill
I liked your Bohemian Rhapsody video tribute in your tent. 😁 Also surprising colour in the heather! 👍
Thanks, yes some lovely colours despite the rain!
Glad it all went well for ya.. looking forward to your next post. Take care out there.
Thanks and thanks so much for watching 😀
Nice walk 😃 waiting for England to rust shut with all the rain.😛
Thanks, yes I know!! I’m beginning to think we will just have to learn to live with all the mud! 😂
Second time lucky hey Steph. Another Good one, informative and enjoyable. And don't apologise about your appearance of a morning, I like to see you with your down like that. 🙂
Thanks a lot and thanks for watching, I’m glad you like the morning look! 😁
Great video. I camped on Carl Wark back in February. Where is that first cafe you went in? I only know the one at Grindleford (which i walked all down the hill to, to find out they only take cash and i only had my card on me 😢) . Keep the videos coming 🥾🎒⛺️
Thanks I really appreciate it, it was the National Trust cafe on the Longshaw Estate, not far from Padley Gorge, good value. Ah no I saw they only take cash at the station cafe, luckily we had some on us!
Another great video Steph Rachel's curlew impression sounded more like a red grouse.
To be honest I’m not actually sure what curlews sound like - probably not like that though 😁
It's said that 'To experience something at it's best you must have experienced it at it's worst'. I think your 2 trips have proved that correct. Glad you had at least 1 dry day. Great video Steph. 👍👍
Thanks Jeremy, it was good to have the dry evening and the views, and the rain didn’t stop us from getting a good walk in 😀
Fab vlog Steph 😊 It was a good’en even though it rained…. Again! 😅
One day we’ll get a dry evening and next day!! 🤞🤞
One of my favorite spots x
It’s so lovely there x
I once bivied on the outcrop of rocks opposite surprise view carpark, woke up in the night to a barn own hovering a few feet away, magical place
@@Aurbey-Luigi-and-Me wow - what a special experience, I’d love to see that
🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nicely summed up 😂😂
Another amazing video, thanks Steph . Just one thing, if I was camping with you in that haunted forest I'd have to share a tent! 😘x
Thanks Angela, it would be a bit cramped! 😄 x
❤❤❤
Thanks for watching
Well done! That's a great achievement
Thanks a lot, it felt great to finish! X
Chilling out in your tent drinking a beer... you're living the dream Steph 😉🍺🎪
It was lovely and toasty! 👍
What made u choose this walk by the way? It must have felt great to finish it! When I start mine I think it will take me 5 years! Well done Steph & Sue. 👍😉
Thanks, mainly because Sue lives in Northamptonshire and we wanted a big project, I think doing a long distance trail section by section is a good way of getting one done if time is an issue
Well done Steph & Sue of course. You had me chuckling with your dry humour Steph regarding 'William not being welcome', .... so unexpected it cracked me up! 😂🤣😂
Thanks, I’m glad it made you laugh I wondered if people would get it 😂
Well done ladies👏
Thanks a lot, appreciate it 🥰
Yes! Back out in the glorious county of Northamptonshire ❤
Yes! And glorious it is! That was a huge project 😃
Well done! Always good to complete a mission. But very envious that you grabbed the last Caramacs.
Thanks ha ha yes they were lovely ☺️
Another great walk & lovely video. 👍👍
Thanks, thanks so much for watching
Great trip Steph and well-adapted to make sure it was a success. I'm looking forward to watching some of your other vids. Best wishes, Chris
Thanks Chris, it taught me some good lessons, thanks so much for watching
Hello 👋🏻 Steph and a first time viewer to your marvelous channel. Looks like you both had a great time and are you sure they weren't your beer cans 😉⛺👍🏻
Ha ha I wish!! Thanks so much for watching I appreciate it 👍

Love your gentle narration. Did laugh at Mount Doom!
Thanks - it’s what it reminded me of looming out the mist! 😄
Lovely video. Just found your channel and I'm watching to get my confidence to go out camping alone. It's been decades since I did it alone so I feel very nervous.
Thanks, if I can do it you certainly can, start by picking a spot that’s familiar and go when the weather’s decent for your first time X
@@endurance-adventures Thanks for replying. I have my pack ready (heavy at 14kg!) and am planning to catch the train to the New Forest. Just sorting Carers for my disabled daughter. I'm looking forward to it but also anxious!
@@bobalinga I’m sure you’ll be fine - you’ve got this! Please let me know how you get on x
Brilliant video Steph, loved it. It would have been so easy to turn around and go home (I know that only too well) 🙄🤨 good on you fir sticking to your plan 👌 that's a sub from me xx
Thanks so much, yes it would have been so easy to get the late train home but I know I needed to stick it out! X
Ah good on you for persevering through those completely natural, normal, doubtful thoughts and feelings.. and yes, you should take it as a success because it looks like you had a safe, cozy, comfortable camp! And you caught some beautiful scenes along your adventure. 👍 All the best on your next one. ⛺💚
Thanks so much, I’m so glad I pushed through and yes it turned out to be a really good camp in the end! 😀
Well done, Steph, very brave and inspiring. I felt cold watching you. Great views though x
Thanks, it was lovely and toasty in the tent, but rainy outside! X
Steph absolutely amazing, I'm just catching up with your videos . X
Thanks Angela appreciate you watching xx
Loved this! X
