  • Ethel bagging in the Peak District - the Ethels are 95 Peak District hilltops over 400m above sea level plus other signiicant hills.
They are named after countryside access pioneer Ethel Haythornthwaite, who was behind the creation of the Peak District National Park.
We climbed three of the Ethels near the High Peak Trail - Aleck Low, Minninglowl and Harboro Rocks.
And I have a brush with death when I fall off a wall stile!

Sorry to hear you took a tumble, your very resilient. Well done for carrying on. A few more Ethels in the bag, good stuff 😊 Shame that some of the summits are on private land. Loving the countryside walking with glorious landscapes to enjoy. Thanks for taking us along with you. 🤩

Thanks Rachel, the tumble was the start of it all! Hopefully now things are getting better! Yes it is a shame about them being on private land, I tend to go with 'close enough is good enough' x

Another nice walk Steph. Lovely scenery around the High Peak Trail and three good Ethels to have bagged there. I've only been on to Harboro Rocks out of those three. So glad you weren't seriously injured! 😮 Good to know you survived to fight another day! 😃👍

Thanks Patrick, I still don’t know how it happened although one of the steps had broken off!
Harboro Rocks is a good little viewpoint
