  • Ethel bagging in the Peak District - the Ethels are 95 Peak District hilltops over 400m above sea level plus other signiicant hills.
They are named after countryside access pioneer Ethel Haythornthwaite, who was behind the creation of the Peak District National Park.
We climbed the three nearest Ethels to Dovedale - Thorpe Cloud, Tissington Hill and Musden Low

Nice to see you in Dovedale Steph, it's a lovely spot isn't it. Glad you made it onto Thorpe Cloud and Tissington Hill. Not familiar with Musden Low, so it was nice to see that. Hope you enjoyed a cuppa in the cafe at Ilam Hall afterwards 😃👍

Thanks Patrick, I think we were a bit too late for the cafe sadly, I forgot what a great view there is from Thorpe Cloud and watching the balloons was quite an experience as one came so close!

It’s just a gate to open that one for future reference, if you’d like to get to the trig, cheers Matt
