There's a fine line between ambitious and delusional 😅 I'm all for ambition and dreaming big, just do whatever feels good! If the Sanderson series isn't doing it for you right now, move on to something more exciting, I say! Or do one book a month, and you'll be done by the end of January. That pile is already so big! And then + all the Tolkien ones! 😂 As long as you read and enjoy Beartown I'm happy! 😁 I hope it will be more emotionally manageable too.

Im struggling to stay motivayed at the moment bc i have three preorders coming this month and I don't really want to read anything else :/ They are -Swordcrossed by Freya Marske (Oct 8th) -The Waiting hy Michael Connelly (Oct 15) -Fury of the Gods by John Gwynne (Oct 23) It has been 17ish years since I read The Stand, but from what I can remember it's more of a dystopian with some horror elements than a pure horror.

What a fantastic week of reading! I think of books like that as pralines, like the premium ones, and I also think of them as drinks, like you mentioned 😂 I’m so glad you read these books for this challenge, I didn’t realize that they were all so short. Even I can get through that! 😅 I haven’t been interested in the Old man and the sea before, but I am now. Which one did you listen to, on BookBeat? And I also want to read Great Gatsby and Breakfast at Tiffany’s (love the movie, Audrey Hepburn!) and anything by Claire Keegan. I also want to keep going on my Doris Lessing short stories, the writing is definitely on a different level in that too. I’m so jealous of your cat coming to chill with you while you read. Well done Bryndis, you definitely deserve a pat on the back. First of all, War and Peace has to count as like four books. What an achievement! ✨ And A man called Ove. It is such a good book. I agree that the love story is probably the most beautiful one I’ve ever read or seen or anything, it is so simple and sure. I loved the quote you mentioned as well, that she was all the colors. I could also relate to grief, and I can’t even write it here because it’s too much, but I feel your pain and I love what you said about books being a way for us to work through our own lives. I absolutely agree. And I also felt similarly when I read it that… emotional stories are hard to read, but it also wakes something inside us and it makes it more clear what’s important and it’s a kind of release when a book makes you cry and you can finally look at the things you’ve tried to push away. I’m proud of you for getting through it and even though it was hard it seems like it was healing for you and for that I’m happy. Even though yes, time doesn’t heal but we learn to live with it. Your summer break sounds like my dream, you read so many books! 😍 Yay for reading more Mistborn, so glad you’ve continued to enjoy it!! Once I’m done working through the Stormlight Archive I want to get back to that series. Very curious to see what I’ll think about Wuthering Heights, haha gotta love when all the characters are horrible… I need to re-read Sense and Sensibility, it’s a good one!! And I re-read P&P at the end of July/beginning of August and it’s just so fun, I listened to the audiobook and it was really entertaining!

@LibrariesandLattes It was such a lovely month! I'm planning to read the rest of the Mistborn series soon, can't wait. I will then probably start the Stormlight archives early next year, I keep hearing so many people talking about how good that series is.

Good to see you again! 😊 What a lovely month you had, I’m so glad! And a bit jealous 😅 What a treat to just do whatever you want for a few weeks. I’m very glad it worked out for you (as life can sometimes insert itself in our plans…) And your presentation of the books actually made me a little curious to read a Jane Austen book, possibly Persuasion or S&S. I had higher hopes for Longbourne though. Please keep taking care of yourself as work starts back up! I look forward to see you pop back up on my subs page 😊

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Jane Austen. She is definitely one of my favorite authors! Everyone of her six novels is worth reading again...and again! For future reading you might enjoy the novel Hamerston Hall by Jane Eastbourne. It is set in early 19th century England and has the common JA dilema of the family property being entailed to a male heir.

Looks like you have some really fun books ahead of you! I'm excited to hear your thoughts on Woolf once you get around to reading her work. She has become one of my favorite authors, but it can take a while to get into her narrative flow (worth trying more than one book; Orlando is the first one that clicked for me and made reading the rest easier). Thank you for joining in on the tag!

Wonderful responses to this tag, Bryndis. I’m excited for you to read Woolf. Beloved is one of my top five novels of all time. It is a very disturbing story but, as you note, a very important one. I did a video on it very early in my days of having a channel because it is also a frequently challenged and banned book here in the U.S., and I talked about it as a banned book. I’m just now finishing up a re-read of Ulysses. It is challenging, but it’s been great to read it with a group here on Book Tube. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and enjoy your time off! Thanks for doing this tag! 😊
