    Great video. I had a good reading month - read 18 books. I have requested pierce brown and the turn of the screw and the haunting of hill house from the library

    I had a very good month too! 14 books 5,851 pages.
    I had two sci‐fi successes last month "Project Hail Mary" by Andy Weir (great science heavy sci‐fi), and "The Crypt" by Scott Sigler (sci‐fi horror).
    I also had my worst book of the year which was a sci-fi horror called "The Scourge between the Stars" by Ness Brown.
    I just finished Stephen King's newest book "You Like it Darker which has a character inspired by Inspector Javert in Les Mis.
    I have also read The Turn of the Screw twice and need a reread to tey to fully understand it, I do like Henry James' writing but it is difficult because each sentence is like a knot you have to untangle.
    If you're interested in more classic horror I reccomend a short story collection called "Deadlier than the Male" which is over 20 short stories written by 19th and 20th century women including my all‐time favorite "The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.

      Andy Weir is on my list of sci-fi writers to read, I've heard so many good things about his books. The turn of the screw is certainly tricky, I'm also going to re-read it soon.

    Love seeing your kitty! ❤️😂 I read Circe and her writing is beautiful but I was a little bored and underwhelmed… Glad you loved it though! Proud of you for reading Les Mis, haha I want to but I am intimidated by the thickness for sure. Really need to dive into Agatha Christie’s books, I don’t know how I haven’t read more of them at this point!

      Agatha Christie is just fantastic. I actually prefer Miss Marple, to be honest, but Poirot is also excellent.

    Omg Emma’s tail 😂😂😂 That sounds like a great reading month! And when you were so busy too. Love it! I’m so happy you enjoyed Circe, do you know if there is anything new coming from Miller?

      I read somewhere that she is working on a book about Persephone, but I don't know when it is to be published. Apparently, Circe is being adapted for TV but I don't think there is any dates regarding when.

    I listened to the audio book of The Haunting of Hill House this past October, and only a couple of scenes really stuck out to me (including the ending), I otherwise hard a hard time staying engaged. I think I'm going to re-read it this Halloween, I feel like I'd have a better experience off the page.
    Edit: I only just noticed your tattoos in this video somehow, is that a kitty on your wrist?

    • @Bryndisdaugtherofgunnar
      @Bryndisdaugtherofgunnar  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's definitely not super scary, more atmospheric. And yes, it's a kitty 😺 The tattoo represents the cat charity I volunteer at, we do TNR with ferral cats and find new homes for strays. The cat on the tattoo has an eartip (clipped ear) which is the international sign of TNR (trap-neuter-return). I have 5 tattoos and would love many more 😀

      @@Bryndisdaugtherofgunnar That's really cool, thanks for elaborating. And as a fellow cat lover, thank you for what you do as a volunteer!
