- This is the first PhD vlog on this channel. Starting to write the dissertation is a big step in a PhD programme and I'm very excited to finally being there. I hope you enjoy :)

I really enjoyed hearing about some of the process that you have ahead of you. It is a lot of fun getting to go deep on a project like that. I’m rooting for you! 😊 Health first though 💜
Also, I have to give you a tip, in case you’re not aware, that will save you some fiddling over the coming year! Maybe you already know or aren’t bothered but in case it helps! If you want to split your screen between two windows/docs, you can grab one window and drag it all the way up to the edge of the screen and then out to the corner on the side, and it should appear a field for half of the screen and then you can release and choose which of the other windows you want to share with. In Word there is also a function where you can look at two docs at the same time and scroll simultaneously (or not), if that’s helpful.

Aw congrats on your progression to PhD candidate! I've been writing my thesis and it's a mix of fun and stressful 😂 and the like being 5, 10, 15k words into the projects feels like a lot..and then you remember it's above 80,000 😬 interesting to hear about your structure! Mine was going to just be 3 chapters plus lit review, but my current supervisors don't want a lit review....I've already written it, so we'll see!

What is your research topic? Sounds like you're in for an exciting 12 months - enjoy!
Thanks. I'm researching in early childhood education, my topic is embodied interactions in the toddler peer group, I'm looking at how they create a sense of togetherness and participate in social interactions through embodied strategies such as gaze, touch, gestures and facial expressions. I'm using conversation analysis which is very interesting and detailed.
