I’m so glad you loved your first Brandon Sanderson book! Really enjoyed The Final Empire but it’s been a while so I should probably just re-read it and then continue on with the series. Oh and I loved seeing random cat tails 😂😂

I'm glad you enjoyed! I've only read one Sanderson book (Frugal Wizard's Guide to Surviving Medieval England), not tied to his Cosmere series, and as I understand, not his best, but I personally have no desire to read any of the Cosmere.
The series is a bit of a victim of it's own success where I'm concerned. Aside from being a bit large, the fan base is something else. They're either cultishly devoted, hateful, or when the good one's try to talk you into it they can't do so without either A) a reading order, or B) writing a paragraph on why you should. It's all rather intimidating, and unwelcoming (even when trying to be), and just puts me off him entirely. (Fan bases in general can be that way, it's not exclusive to Sanderson of course).
That said, I don't begrudge anybody enjoying his work, and again, I'm truly glad you enjoyed it, and hope you continue to!

@reedmorebooks Thankfully, I haven't come across the fan base. They sound intense. I remember being in a chat with other Tolkien fans once and when I said that I had gotten into Tolkien through the movies, people went insane! Only 'true' Tolkien fans, according to them, read the books before they were famous. I just ignored it. Some people always have to gatekeep and be obnoxious.

@@Bryndisdaugtherofgunnar I'll never understand people like that. You would think you would WANT people to join your love of something, not gatekeep and slowly kill it off.
To their credit, MOST Sanderson fans aren't trying to keep you out, they DO want more people reading the books, and mean well, they're just so intense it's off putting.
Generally good to just avoid "fans" and be an "enjoyer" in everything maybe 😅

    I do give ½ and ¼ stars, mathematically a star is 20% a ¼ staris 5% so a 3.75☆=75% enjoyment.
I'm doing BookTuber appreciation month in August called Alice August, if you want to suggest books for me to read I'm looking for recommendations.

@zachreads I use Goodreads and they only allow full stars. It would be a 4.5 otherwise.
Earlier this month I read Peril at End House by Agatha Christie. I 100% recommend that one, one of my favourite Hercule Poirot books 😊
