Tinnitus isn't the end of a happy life and i'm here to prove it.
I used to blame everything on my tinnitus and since accepting it, my life has changed.
Tinnitus has been a companion of mine for as long as I can remember. I'm now 22 years old and after many rough years with tinnitus, I have now began to live my life happily. My tinnitus hasn't gone away, but my negative response to it has.
When I was struggling to cope, the search to find reliable information was almost impossible. I have made this channel in hope to reach you at a point in your journey where you need it most.
Here ill share all of my mistakes, management techniques and most importantly, things I wish I knew about tinnitus.
Sending you strength and positivity on your tinnitus journey,
Caris 💫👂🏻

I think your earings are not needed where you have to use hearing aids. I dont know if you realized that.
Eu estava pensando em comprar aparelho, mas tenho medo pq meu zumbido é reativo ao som 😢 tenho medo de comprar um aparelho e o outro ouvido zunir tbm.
I wish I had these. I have big bulky NHS ones 😢
I press the button for fun 😂
Hi from northern ireland 🇮🇪..this video has opened my eyes to a reality .i have had tinnitus as 2 years and i hear music too which no doctor can relate to..i nearly paid £1800 forba course claiming the same .thank god i didnt !!!..Q' do you ever hear music sounds iseen you had a short about it ???
How loud is your T?
After 90 i couldnt hear anything ..is that bad ??..also that was kinda scary to my ears !!😅
Ive had this for 2 years straight with no let up ...i had covid 2 years ago and now i live with high tinnitus, hyperacusis,,anxiety ...musical earworms and overall my mental state has crumbled ...i hope one day it stops ..its like torture tbh ...ive had several breakdowns over this ..im a guitar player and ive had tinnitus before but it would fizzle away ....if i hear a song in shop or tv il hear it and then ot will stick and loop for about 5 seconds the loops lasts then repeats over an over .....audiology said i have high tinnitus..i got hearing aids but its makes it worse...
Hiya new sub here ,,I've had this for 2 years now I developed high tinnitus and severe hyperacusis..if you come across this message ..do you constantly have this MT..I call it earworm but I think I have this for life ...its been non stop for two years ...thank you for my new earworm tune ..I had this one last year !!!!
Have you managed to live with it ok? I got the same since getting covid. Has your noise sensitivity settled?
@@BijalPatel-sh1kl just the same mate ..no change .but I don't react as badly anymore when I'm having a bad day or spike
Ear protection helps my sensitivity, but then my tinnitus is more noticeable. Then my brain focuses on the tinnitus and that's never good. I wear ear protection when only absolutely necessary. They are cool though!
Could you give us an idea of the price range of those products ? From cheapest to most expensive ? Or maybe, in your opinion, which one is the most useful ?
Qual o nome ?

My oticon intent 1 hearing aides are supposed to help me w this
A question for you, Caris. Do you still hear your tinnitus whilst wearing the hearing aids?
Because I am habituated, I hardly listen to my tinnitus. However, with hearing aids, I'd say the perception is lessened even when I do tune into it because of the amplified external noise. Thanks for the question!
@@LetsTalkTinnitus Thanks for your reply, Caris. Unfortunately, I have an inner ear injury, so the tinnitus is always loud (with or without amplification), especially upon wakening. I no longer react to the noise, but still perceive it noticeably, five years after the accident. I thought my hearing was okay until a hearing test proved otherwise!
I found this so interesting and it’s really made me realise how much of a difference having a great audiologist much make! My last hearing test really triggered me because the audiologist kept going ‘oh bless you, oh poor you’ and then by the time I was left in the booth I was so stressed and anxious 🫣
Thank you so much for your lovely comment and I'm really glad you found this video interesting! It's amazing how much of a difference a great audiologist can make, right? I'm so sorry to hear about your last experience-that sounds super stressful and patronising. You deserve to feel comfortable and supported during your hearing tests!! Thanks for sharing your story with us, take care! 💖
Interesting I'd love another q&a !
Ooo of course, I love doing them! Drop your questions here and I’ll make sure to do them in the next one☺️
@@LetsTalkTinnitus I have several, how do you deal with tinnitus when you have a cold? How big does your hearing loss have to be? I've got tinnitus but still hear better then most of my friends who don't have tinnitus. Is it normal that my tinnitus seems to be linked more to my mood then loud noise?
Oh and do you consider the cinema/theater safe without hearing protection?
@@roodjager2I’ve really noticed a HUGE jump in volume in cinemas! The last two films I saw I wore earplugs because some of the scenes were actually hurting my ears!
@@EmmaLouiseShepherd93 thank you for sharing your experience! Although it also might be a film by film case. Or even cinema
Totally agree out in the park listening to birds is great. Im now at stage 4 in habituation. Tinnitus im living with without disturbing me.
My T is brutal, so brutal I cant even leave the house. Go for a walk? Not a chance.
How to ignore T if I hear it everywhere?
I’m 25 with mild hearing loss, the ringing drives me up a wall.
think i'm coming friday for a school trip
You’re going to have a great time!!!🌊🫶
I am getting my hearing aids today. Long time tinnitus sufferer. Looking forward to it. Love this channel!!!
Best of luck for your appointment and many thanks for your kind words!!! Do update with how you get on. Remember it takes a while to adjust so give them time!🎉😊
Sooo…. It’s not the angels trying to contact me… ahhh well hardsytles and death metal are life
You are both so funny ❤
That’s what I hear when girls speak……… noise
I've also had a bit of T as far back as I can remember, from birth or at least early childhood. It got slightly louder about two years ago, but it's still fairly mild - I keep a noise journal and just make an entry every day - usually it's "Q/MQ," that is, quiet or medium-quiet - but it does vary a bit. I like Earasers for earplugs - they basically cut the volume in half or so, but with a good frequency range, so I can hear (and play) music, carry on conversations normally, etc., and no one even knows I've got my ears plugged! My best yardstick for loudness is, can I hear it in the shower? Usually, I can't hear my ringy-dingy when I'm in the shower with water hitting my head, because that generates a lot of high-frequency sound. Also, how much can I hear at the beach? Nice to have some support from fellow T people!
Wait so hearing aids actually help your tinnitus? I didnt know that, I spent too much time listening to loud music and working around loud equipment without hearing protection, I dont think my tinnitus is very bad but it definitely presents problems sometimes, is there a specific brand you think has worked better than others or was there a lengthy process to getting your hearing aids?? Sorry for the long comment! Thanks for any info in advance!
A question for you, Caris. When you are wearing your hearing aids either with sound therapy built-in or amplification only, do you still hear your tinnitus? Also, when you take them out, does the tinnitus return to the same level?
My spouse has been suffering for a few years now. Any suggestions on earbuds, like Loop or others that help at night and during the day?
Would love to know how much of an impact your hearing aids have had? I'm giving it some serious consideration myself

I have tinnitus from 5 months, due to earwax removal and perforated eardrum now I believe that due to earwax removal my ears are just focusing inside sounds I just need to concentrate outside sound. By the way can I use headphones, I like music a lot
I have learned to hate humans they are totally unpredictable. They throw pallets on the ground. They shoot fireworks in the air. They yell and scream when they are right next to you. People who have no hearing loss/ tinnitus certainly don’t play by the same rules. Someday I plan on exploring deep remote areas, where I can be free to listen to to the birds 🎵
How do you cope with poor sleep. I'm supporting my husband who has had t for 20 years and has a massive spike now) He is desperate to sleep and very obsessed with the t -he also has increased hearing loss recently. I would like to be able to help him.
I'm really sorry to hear about your husband's struggles with tinnitus and sleep. It must be incredibly tough for both of you. A few things that might help include using white noise machines or soothing sounds to create a more peaceful sleep environment. Relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation before bed can also reduce stress and make falling asleep easier. Keeping a consistent sleep routine and practicing good sleep hygiene can improve his sleep quality as well. Consulting a sleep specialist or audiologist for tailored advice might also be beneficial. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has helped many people manage the emotional impact of tinnitus and improve their sleep. Your support and patience are incredibly valuable during this time, and seeking professional help together can make a big difference. Take care and best wishes to both of you💫
