  • Hey, i’m Caris welcome to my TH-cam channel where I talk about all things tinnitus! 👂🏻
In this video I give you advice on how to prepare for your tinnitus appointment.
Tinnitus isn't the end of a happy life and i'm here to prove it. I used to blame everything on my tinnitus and since accepting it, my life has changed.
Tinnitus has been a companion of mine for as long as I can remember. I'm now 22 years old and after many rough years with tinnitus, I have now began to live my life happily. My tinnitus hasn't gone away, but my negative response to it has.
When I was struggling to cope, the search to find reliable information was almost impossible. I have made this channel in hope to reach you at a point in your journey where you need it most.
Here i'll share all of my mistakes, management techniques and most importantly, things I wish I knew about tinnitus.
    Thanks for being here!☺️

Totally agree with the concept of tinnitus affecting different types of people differently! My father in law has had it since I think his twenties and he does not give a crap, doesn’t bother him even though his is quite loud, and he’s the sort of person who just gets on with it, doesn’t even bothered using hearing protection and he’s at gigs weekly! But I’m much more likely to be affected by it on a bad day and I’ve got OCD and am an anxious person so I reckon there’s something in it!

It’s such a strange thing! I’m certainly one of them people who couldn’t brush it off quickly. With time and patience I’m now the opposite (of course still use hearing protection though!) Thanks for sharing I’m sure so many others relate.

I suddenly woke up one day with the tinnitus, I didn't know what it was at 1st. Left it a few weeks as usually things go away but this didn't. My GP didn't really know and put it down to earwax, the 2nd Dr said there is no cure which sent me down the dark hole where most people end up.
The upshot is that I don't think the local GP know much about tinnitus so refer you on to ENT for which I have now waited over 12months.
When I do get my appointment through I need some questions to ask, the 1st one probably will be can you find out the underlying cause. I had suffered with long covid symptoms the summer before so that was the final drama that probably set it off along with a couple of long standing friends dying at that time too.
2nd one will be about my hearing, and hopefully a proper tinnitus assessment to guage if any hearing loss. 3rd is probably is anxiety a cause because after long covid I probably have had anxiety for a couple of years and not realised it.
The upshot is probably go straight to an audiologist 1st who knows about tinnitus and not the GP.

I could not find either product you mentioned. For Tinearity you need a prescription, apparently, and no trace of Tinner sooth😢

This is the link for TinniSoothe: tinnisoothe.com and here is the link for the Tinearity device website: www.duearity.com/en/ - you do not need a prescription! 😊

I hope duearity will become available in the US someday! It looks like a really cool product.
I am a perfectionist too! Trying to work through it in therapy. Tinnitus opened my eyes to how bad of a perfectionist I am.
