  • Hey, i’m Caris welcome to my TH-cam channel where I talk about all things tinnitus! 👂🏻
    In this video I answer some of your questions about tinnitus and my experince!
    Tinnitus isn't the end of a happy life and i'm here to prove it. I used to blame everything on my tinnitus and since accepting it, my life has changed.
    Tinnitus has been a companion of mine for as long as I can remember. I'm now 22 years old and after many rough years with tinnitus, I have now began to live my life happily. My tinnitus hasn't gone away, but my negative response to it has.
    When I was struggling to cope, the search to find reliable information was almost impossible. I have made this channel in hope to reach you at a point in your journey where you need it most.
    Here i'll share all of my mistakes, management techniques and most importantly, things I wish I knew about tinnitus.
    Thanks for being here!☺️

    Started to do head, neck, mouth, tongue and face massages. Running as exercise. It helped to reduced the symptoms. Stay positive and stress free life. Life is good.

    Thanks for making tinnitus videos! It is nice to see someone on youtube that isnt just reviewing specific hearing aids. Thanks for sharing your story too! It is nice to know that I am not crazy, and that spikes are normal, and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Cheers! Be well all

    Thanks for the answers Caris. I will report back on my Scottish road trip. The fear last year was that I would have a spike all the time but obviously I know now that it won't.
    My tinnitus is made worse by exercise (typical) but I don't let it stop me riding my ebike about the mean streets of Birmingham. I cycled to my 1st place of work and realised that was 39yrs ago 😮.
    I am getting my hearing aids just after too.

      You're very welcome! Your Scottish road trip sounds amazing-I can't wait to hear all about it. It's great to hear that you're not letting the fear of spikes hold you back.
      It's tough when exercise makes tinnitus worse, but kudos to you for continuing to ride your ebike around Birmingham! That's impressive dedication, especially after 39 years since your first job.
      Best of luck with your new hearing aids; I hope they make a positive difference for you. Safe travels and happy cycling!☺️

    How do you cope with poor sleep. I'm supporting my husband who has had t for 20 years and has a massive spike now) He is desperate to sleep and very obsessed with the t -he also has increased hearing loss recently. I would like to be able to help him.

    • @LetsTalkTinnitus
      @LetsTalkTinnitus  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm really sorry to hear about your husband's struggles with tinnitus and sleep. It must be incredibly tough for both of you. A few things that might help include using white noise machines or soothing sounds to create a more peaceful sleep environment. Relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation before bed can also reduce stress and make falling asleep easier. Keeping a consistent sleep routine and practicing good sleep hygiene can improve his sleep quality as well.
      Consulting a sleep specialist or audiologist for tailored advice might also be beneficial. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has helped many people manage the emotional impact of tinnitus and improve their sleep. Your support and patience are incredibly valuable during this time, and seeking professional help together can make a big difference.
      Take care and best wishes to both of you💫

    The amino acid taurine has helped made my tinnitus a little better, and it calms down anxiety. Have you tried it?

      Thanks for sharing your experience with taurine. I haven't tried it myself, but I'm glad to hear it's been helping with your tinnitus and anxiety. It's always good to hear about different approaches that work for others.

    Hello, with tinnitus do you sometimes feel tired, fatigued and anxious?

    • @LetsTalkTinnitus
      @LetsTalkTinnitus  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great questions☺️!
      I used to be super anxious in the past, mainly because I was perceiving the noise as a threat. I was terrified it was caused by something sinister. Since going to healthcare professionals and practising CBT the anxious side of things definitely doesn’t affect me half as much.
      I do however get tired a lot. I put this down to unconsciously listening to it so my brain is using more power. Not too sure but that’s my theory anyway!
      How are you doing?

    Can you have both hearing loss and tinnitus?

    • @LetsTalkTinnitus
      @LetsTalkTinnitus  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes! I have hearing loss too. It’s actually pretty common to have both.
      Tinnitus UK say: It is estimated that 80% of people with severe-profound hearing loss experience tinnitus.
