Almost a year living with tinnitus for a hearing loss in one ear but i have T in both, at the beginning was awful because my mind recognized this sound as a threat. I went with so many specialists and all of them told me ``you can do nothing about it´´. ``you have to learn to live with it´´ and it was devastating. And then i found sound therapy, it helped me in some many ways. Today I no longer care about this anymore, i dont know if im habituated cuz i can still hear it even more when im in completely silence but its like my brain saying ``who cares´´ so yeah like you have said before.. you can live happily with tinnitus.
BTW i saw you in a tik tok video then i followed you in ig and now im here, it is good to know there is people out there feeling the same way as me.

Hello my tinnitus sister, I’ve been on this journey for 3+ years now. On the habituation, because of fluctuations, some days still bring negative thoughts back. I think part of the problem is that the good days build high hopes that I’m on the right track then when it comes back with a revenge it makes me think that all the “progress” is reversed. I’ve tried many times to relate the louder days to anything external, and cannot pinpoint to anything. All the best. Adrian.

    • @LetsTalkTinnitus
      @LetsTalkTinnitus  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Hey! When I first started the journey of habituation I honestly thought it was as easy as going from point A to B. It’s actually a huge roller coaster and it’s normal to have ups and downs.
When I had my first bad day, similar to how you explained, I felt terrible. I felt like I had only made progress to my standard tinnitus sound and thought there was no hope with fluctuations.
These bad days are the most important days to try to apply these techniques you’ve been learning. You have to push through, keep being busy and be mindful of these negative thoughts coming in.
Remember that it’s okay to have these days where you can’t seem to apply techniques to, it’s all part of the journey. I like to look back on them once the fluctuation has passed and think about what I was most worried about.

My tinnitus is also inside my head! I feel like we're in the minority on that?
I just woke up one morning and there it was. The first week was horrible. Now I'm 2 months in and I'm almost the old me again. I've learned to put in the background and continue my day, the volume has decreased a lot though as well!
CST and massages for tight muscles have helped a lot as well.
Thanks for sharing your story and putting out such a positive vibe!

Hello! I had the same case, I had tinnitus for 1 month now, I just woke up at night and notice the noise and then BUM there was a big orchesta on my head. Now I notice it less and less, it's still there and I have not got trought it currently, but it passed just one month. I think this is a symptom of anxiety, at least, is what doctors say. I think I always had it.
      Any suggestions for getting throught?

@@jaumeivars I think you have to address the root cause of the tinnitus, the anxiety. That's what I'm doing also, with therapy. Meditating, yoga, mindfulness,... all these things calm your body and mind and they help me too.

    Hello Caris, very good vid
I'm 10 years of tinnitus, with a huge spike 1 year and 7 months ago.
I agree with everything you said on the vid.
Sleeping is the most important, so cut off naps, and try to go to bed and wake up with an alarm cloock every day on the same time.
Getting a sleep routine is much important.
I also use sound to sleep (water running and waves)
    Take care

Hello dear, I've had tinnitus for a while now, (just turned 23 1st Jan) i don't actually remember when i did not have it! Anyway, for a while now it was fairly low, almost unnoticable and i think i have habituated well as i could go months ignoring it! Recently, for past month or so I have been experiencing some pressure in my head along with feeling of pressure and blocked ears (currently being put on medication for this to see if it will help). All of this has caused a spike in my tinnitus, and all of a sudden for the first time in a long time it has caused bad anxiety about my tinnitus, i am suddenly becoming depressed. Thank you for sharing your experience and helping others like us 🙏 it takes some of the stress away :)

I’m 20 and I’ve had tinnitus for over a month right now. It just started out of a sudden after a cold & I went to different doctors & they told me I have Eustachian tube dysfunction with retracted eardrums. It’s weird because obviously that was a relieve for me cuz that would mean it’s probs temporary. And that stopped the fixation & the stress on it and now I’m not bothered by it anymore. Stress rly makes it worse ! I am also glad I got to experience this ringing in my ear because I’m also someone that literally wears headphones 24/7 and got this warning on my iPhone every hour LmAo. So now I know it’s important to protect my ears before it’s too late. ( gonna throw my jbl in the trash can fr) I also love to hear your & many other ( young ) ppl their story because having this experience made me being so interested in what tinnitus rly is and how it’s possible to live with this symptom/ condition. I am glad to hear ur feeling better than last yr:) now I’m gonna finish watching this video hahaha

Don't have the condition to your guys point
But when I sleep at night I hear a slight ringing but it never really affected my sleep
I understand the addiction to listening music on earphones
I listen to it at work, gym, walks. Such a majority of the day. But not too loud volume
Then I understand that I don't hear the ringing most of the day because a lot of my day involves noise.
It's a way to escape discomfort. Whether it be alcohol, overeating, driving fast on the freeway after a long day at work. They are all escapes from the stillness and silence.

This is a really helpful down to eath video. I've had it for 7 months and the best thing I did was to have acupuncture from an authentic TCM practitioner. It didn't cure my tinnitus but it did reduce my anxiety so much that the sound no longer bothered me. Maybe it helped bring the habituation process forwards. Anyway I agree with all you have said and thanks so much for sharing this.

Hey! I developed mine about a month ago. I listened to really loud music on a daily basis. Never considered the impact it would have. Gone to a clinic but not to an actual specialist, yet.
I am fine during the day, but sleeping is a real challenge! I loved sleeping in complete silence, could never really sleep with noise. Music doesn't work, open window barely works. I'm a bit stuck at the moment.

It’s no surprise that sleeping is a common challenge with us all. In my experience, finding the best sounds and aromatherapy have really helped - along with a solid routine!

I didn’t leave my house when I had terrible spikes and in 2020, this was consistent. When I attempted to go and socialise my tinnitus would always overpower people and I eventually couldn’t face it anymore. After wearing hearing protection I thankfully no longer have spikes this bad and I now have coping strategies that help me during these moments. Don’t let tinnitus stop you from living your life, it only makes things worse. Focus on the present and don’t worry about the future with tinnitus, habituation will come naturally and with time 💫

I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through such a challenging time. Tinnitus is certainly a journey full of ups and downs.
Tinnitus UK has a free helpline on their website that you might find helpful. Remember, you're not alone in this journey, and it does get better!
I never thought I’d be living happily with tinnitus. I spent weeks isolating myself and being so confused as to what was going on and how I’d ever be able to live normally again. But here I am! My tinnitus hasn’t changed but my mental response has. Once your brain stops perceiving it as a threat it gets easier.

I admitted myself in mental hospital for 7 days (not sure how well it helped) but they gave me anti-anxiety pills just to help calm my body from the Intense tremors from shock.
Im still suffering from the tremors and waiting for Neurologist to get help. America is getting worse and worse with Healthcare. (With a LOT of things actually) it's like they don't care anymore.
My Tinnitus is same of course and maybe a bit worse but as you said , you get used to it and I have but not perfect yet.
The good news is I am not at all as bad as I was when I wrote the above. I was REALLY scared.
I still get very annoyed at one of my higher pitched tones that I can hear over everything. Uugghh
Just hate it!! But I am dealing with it.
I have a ways to go but better than before. I know down the line I can possibly relapse a little and get frustrated again but thats what happens when something big affects our bodies and doesn't go away. Like losing an arm or leg or having another type of chronic illness. It's all hard.
      Maybe I'll update again later.
Thank you again and your post helped me. I'm definitely getting psychotherapy now and will be going back to work next week.
