I signed up for Oto and in a much better place now. One thing I learned in the process is not to try and "cure" tinnitus. I can still hear my tinnitus but crucially now it doesn't make me angry or sad or scared etc. Yes I would prefer to not to hear it, everyone with tinnitus wants that. I'm hopeful that in time I will be rid of it, but for now I am in a better place than I was. Journalling has helped too, I actually like the process of jotting down my day. I noticed that as got into it I wasn't mentioning the tinnitus as much.
@@roshnigurung7722 I get daily spikes sadly. Oto helps by reinforcing the mindset of not emotionally reacting to the noise. So when I notice my tinnitus getting louder I don't have an emotional reaction I still get get frustrated with it but crucially it doesn't now ruin my day.
@@roshnigurung7722 Ive had the tinnitus since xmas 2021. Spikes last anything from all day to a few minutes. Stress plays a big part of it, the more you stress about it the louder and longer the spikes are.
Thank you so much, this is so helpful. And thank you Dave!!! You and Dave are so adorable together. I am totally signing up for Oto. I think learning even more about these techniques and strategies will be so helpful for me in my tinnitus journey.
It really helped me get on track and learn everything about tinnitus habituation! Since sharing my journey about tinnitus I’m now working on the other side of the app, it’s incredibly rewarding. Thank you for your kind words and for being here!☺️🙌
How many sounds do you have Caris? and can it be high pitched?. I have numerous changjng throughout the day and some are so high pitched they actually hurt my ears.
Hi Susy! My pitches do vary and I often have small spikes throughout the day. They are often a lot more higher pitched than my usual noise. The good news is, no matter what you hear, you can habituate! These spikes no longer bother me🙌 You’ll get there. Keep being positive!
8 0:12 @LetsTalkTinnitus Can I ask how many sounds you have?. I have a metallic screeching one I am really frightened off. I am so scared Iam actually sick.
@@susy841 hi Suzy, it’s hard to distinguish how many different sounds I hear. I’d you’re concerned definition head to an audiologist or ent! They will be able to asses you and give you the peace of mind you need🤍
Exactly as said above, thank you Emma! I’ve found it’s important to find what exercises work best for you. Make sure to give everything a try and you may even find yourself doing certain things without even thinking of them! What exercises have you tried in the past?
I tried some smoking of the Cannabis and made it worse, much louder. FFS what can't we understand whats going on here and try to help people (mainly me)?

@@LetsTalkTinnitusIt was ENT that gave me tinnitus.
Hi I tried CPD and I tried it once and it made it much louder.
It will make it louder temporarily because you’re listening to it more but it should help over the long term
