Beans, I'm currently looking around for v. R. Trackers, that is compatible for metaquest 2 but i dont want the Hassle of having to buy base stations and i am looking at vive ultimate but not sure if its compatible

As a trans woman who has been watching a lot of your videos, genuinely thank you so much for calling out the transphobia. It is something I have had to deal with both in and out of VR, thankfully not as much recently because I am at the point where I pass pretty well but I have many trans friends who do not have that privilege, and VR is kind of a safe space for that expression.

I have the quest 2 & it's really starting to feel out dated. I'm looking into the new meta stuff or pcvr but idk meta is just so simple

i have a pico 4, and i wondered for a while why i would feel worn out using it after like 2 hours. eventually i realised it was probably the face cover, so i got a new one for like £30 and it made a waaaaay bigger impact than i ever expected... for the first time ever, i was playing until the headset ran out of battery, and it even improved the way the headset looked. there used to be this really annoying blur around the edges of my vision, but that got immediately fixed just by the face cover letting my eyes get way closer to the lenses, it gave me a bigger field of view too

Haptics just immediately makes me wonder if Rez Infinite can buzz them. Probably not, but... it's my first goto for VR haptics.

what about quest 3 + bobovr s3 pro? You can run it without gasket, essentially getting the same mode as quest pro. I guess face/eye tracking would have to be modded in, though, but would likely cost less overall and u end up with the 10,000 mah battery of the s3 pro

I have a quest 2 and a quest 3. And the quest 3 IS better. hands down. but it's not really WORTH it. the tracking struggles at FAST movements compared to the quest 2. and the upgrade in visuals IS noticable, but not like night and day. When you go from the 3 to the 2, you can see the pixels in the 2 more easily. but they aren't like HORRENDOUS. it's like going from 1080p to 1200p on the same monitor. you don't really notice it. when head sets hit the equivalent of 2k then i'll take the plunge. if that's the valve index 2, then heck yea...

havent watched the vid yet, but i justify meta for one reason: no other HMD manufacturer has even ATTEMPTED to sell in australia from as early as they did, Quest 1, Rift S, any meta owned device, was sold here OFFICIALLY. Varjo, HTC, Valve, Bigscreen, all of them. IF they are sold here, its through a "partner" where you have to obey the "partner" warranty (typically 30 days for parts and servicing, 0 days change of mind, no free shipping. 100 pages of Ts and Cs apply) until another headset can come out that delivers that one feature, ill turn a blind eye to anything meta do, also valve got the arseache with australia cos of their OLD refund policy which actually BROKE FEDERAL LAW here and they were sued, so even if valve sold index, deck, or deckard here, they'd be below meta, because they got butthurt that "other country have consumer laws that aren't terrible" (the new good world liked refund policy they have IS THANKS TO AUSTRALIANS, not valve, they didnt want it)

I have wired full body with reflashed vive wands as the trackers. Broken ones are so cheap and as long as tracking works there's no reason to get a working one other than resale. Also touchpad repair is super easy.

i feel how unphysical most vr games coming out these days is the reason there is little wide interest. If you take a look at Ares Vr, it shocked everyone, several flatscreen creators and devs were making videos about it, because of how cool and believable the reloads looked. People want to do these physical actions, but 99% of vr games are currently better suited for the wii than vr.

Honestly I agree. From a personal standpoint, I am getting a Bigscreen Beyond soon because I have weighed the pros and cons, but I would never recommend it to a newcomer. Of course I've hyped the headset up towards my friends, but I would never recommend them to spend $1,600 on a beyond, basestations, and controllers, unless that suits them, and if it does, it's not really my place to be recommending it anyways.
