UPDATES ON BOUNTIES:
BOTH PAID ON BOTH ENDS!
Update video OUT!
Also, would like to address something I said about Slimes, IMU's, and drift in general.
After speaking to members of Slime's discord server, I got something wrong about official slimes. Slime's official trackers do use the same IMU that includes a magnetometer, however they disable it in firmware in order to prevent any magnetic interference. It can be enabled if you choose to do so.
Magnetometers in a stable environment greatly benefit tracking, however good stable environments are hard to come by.
I will be making a follow up video due next week to show the progress that has been made by the community and comparing Axis current SteamVR tracking algorithm to Slimes once that integration is complete. As I am writing this, it has been about 12 hours since this video went live and the community has already made amazing progress.
Both I and Refract are completely blown away.
VR enthusiasts never fail to impress me! Thanks for pushing for the software stuff so people can get the most out of Axis. As shown by the major Mocopi improvements, VR content creators are making a big difference in the field right now!
in 16 hours ! this is insane , luv u sm
I am currently building slimes with the best sensor the project supports.
If these turn out to have better tracking and haptics and integrate well, then 4 of these to cover key locations and my hand built slimes covering the rest for cheap sounds like a fantastic combo.
@@Queldonus That's true! I have Sony Mocopi that I use as Slimes, and they would cover a bunch of the tracking points Axis doesn't. I could even make DIY Slimes to cover any points left over! I'd love haptics and full tracking without breaking the bank, and I didn't even consider combining Axis with Slimes!
Hi Everyone!
All bounties claimed! The community’s feedback and response has been top tier and we can’t wait to make a more immersive VR experience together with all of you! We love and appreciate you all
Wow, the fact that the company is actually supporting the bounty is super sick!
Totally! I love this! Well done team! Can't wait to see what people come up with!
Haptic feedback via OSC is claimed, slimevr integration happening right now. Testing happening now
@@BonelessVR In 12 hours? That's amazing, the community is awesome
UPDATE BOTH BOUNTIES HAVE BEEN CLAIMED! EVERYTHING IS WORKING!
"so it can track your hopefully human skeleton"
Me, an actual crab: 👁️👄👁️

How have I never heard of these?! And haptic motors inside trackers feels like an obvious idea yet no one's done that before
probably because of the super sensitive sensors ngl
I'm guessing because it was marketed towards motion tracking on the film side of things, not VR.
@@twistedttea Nah the sensors are the same as the slimes. Slimes just have the magnetometers disabled because the magnetic interference is harder to control in a consumer environment, like what Boneless was showing in the video.
@@ijaydubb They should consider at least offering a way to turn the magnetometers back on
OctoSlime has haptic motors
You don't need to care about your magnetic environment in SlimeVR unless you manually turned on the magnetometer in the firmware
Posting a pinned comment regarding this info that I missed out on. My apologies. An update video will be out next week covering the misinformation that I have spread, spoke with many members in the SlimeVR discord about it to make sure my facts are straight.
Edit: Will also be covering the fact that people in SlimeVR's discord have already integrated haptic feedback into the Axis trackers via osc and SlimeVR integration is happening so so so quickly. SlimeVR is such an amazing community.
Another banger video about something I have not heard about that is informative, funny with actual decent editing. You're killing it. Some of my favorite VR videos this year.
"Mental Hospital Grippy Sock Material" I never thought i would hear that to describe wavy silcone i am now gonna call it that for the rest of my life
I use them for mocap and have the double set. With the exception of hub issues, periodically. They actually work very well. I am not a VR person, but am happy with the price for full body tacking. Everything needs some kind of cleanup
Great video! I am hoping to get FBT this year, and videos like these really help. That it has a haptic feedback motor gives Axis trackers a lot more potential than most, and it is great that you and the company are willing to put up the bounty on those two developments. So cool!
Bro said “for your ERP sessions” in capital letters CHILL OUT🗣️😂😂😂😂😂😭😭 but damn good video, goes to show how tracking is almost still in its infancy.
At 1:49, that's a completely different kind of calibration. The one shown with SlimeVR is to calibrate the position on your body, and the calibration shown for the Axis Tracker is so that it knows which way it's facing.
Yeah, but that's mainly for the people that assemble them from scratch.
When you buy them, they should be already calibrated.
@Steam_VR Body position is something that needs to be calibrated for each user, it's not something that can be pre-calibrated. The rotation might also need to be calibrated depending on what type of IMU it's using (mostly magnetic IMUs but also some normal ones).
Will be putting out an update video. Spoke with some kind folks in Slimes server to make sure I include accurate and correct details, as well as showing off what slimes algorithm has done for these. Both bounties have already been complete, absolutely amazed.
So happy to see more choices for FBT! I’m so tired of having either overpriced stuff or janky DIY stuff - finally something in the middle!
Dudeee, finally. Passionate devs!
You've got better content then thrillseeker!
BOUNTIES HAVE BEEN COMPLETE! Less than 2 days. Absolutely amazed by the community.
nice vid as always, youre actually the first person i hear talking about this, so thanks for the info bro
If the Axis trackers are using the same BNO085 IMU as the official Slimes then I'm guessing that the magnetometer simply being enabled is how Axis trackers perform autocorrection. The BNO085 IMU can do autocorrection natively when the magnetometer is enabled, but this is disabled in SlimeVR's default firmware since without a clean magnetic environment you can get a lot of weirdness.
the most legit review of a product.
The fact that you dissected the trackers impresses. So I'll subscribe.
Damn the idea of a bounty is amazing!
$200 to get the haptics working in VRCHAT? I did that for free.
Not me missing a boneless upload for three days straight because youtube notifications suck.
you really must like cars, you even tattooed the word "clutch" on your forearm, awesome
good thing i came across this video, deff gonna have to think bout ordering a set
It makes me so happy to see another Z Fold user in the wild
these videos are always super engaging, even though the price point and my motion sickness means i'll probably never be able to try VR.
I am actually considering getting these. They might not be the best at the moment but their potential is unbelievable.
BABE WAKE UP NEW BONELESS UPLOAD
I'm jealous of your 1897
I ordered mine back in 2021 and finally received the trackers last year. I gave up with the callibration step and thought they're a joke of a company, since it took them so long to deliver, and the whole UX was really devkit like. I'll give it another shot
A bounty is co clever!
Could you please make a follow up video if it works out?
Haptic integration via OSC bounty has already been claimed, slimevr integration currently being worked on. It has been less than a day. Absolutely amazed.
BOUNTIES ARE COMPLETE! Follow up video incoming with some factual correction on my part and to update the community on the progress behind the bounties. Have both haptics and slimevr compatibility working in VRChat right now!
@@BonelessVR That's awesome!
Do you think is practical to keep funding the incentives for the development of these kind of niche features on the VR space?
Maybe crowdsourcing bounties for what's relevant and needed
boneless you ballin
Nice phone. I have one. Also WTF magnetometer app! That is cool
Yes new video!!!!!!
This hardware looks really good, but I need them to just have straight up slimevr support. The setup and hardware looks great here, but slimevr tracking software is just straight up the best solution.
Good news, slimevr support is done! Right now it's just an exe that you launch after launching Axis control and slimevr, works right away as if they were official. True official support will be coming, but as of right now it works so so so well. This community amazes me.
We should be concerned about how sooooo many of products in this space are "backordered" or "Preorder" If you have half a brain, you would of learned by now that your likely not going to receive anything for a longggggggg time, SlimeVR is a perfect example .
huzzah another bonelessvr banger
my desk has metal legs 😅 oh boy
Hell yea lets go new Video sup Boneless
I would like to see an implementation of imus with something like the vive ultimate trackers in a few locations.
Like they are using the phone here.
These are really tempting but I really wish there was a 6 tracker bundle for chest and hips
Saving the community
i noticed the shotgun, we have the same one, nice
Most imu trackers actually do not use magnetometers. Slime for example technically comes with mag sensors, however, they are disabled by default, so the magnetic environment usually doesn't matter for them, and you don't need to do any magnetic calibration. In some cases, mag sensors can counter drift, however, in many environments it causes a lot more drift.
36 seconds in and bros fuckin **FOLDING** am fackin dyin man
Crap, I had no idea about the metal interfering with tracking on IMUs. I haven't bought any full body trackers, I think since I have light houses from my Index I might as well go with Tundra Trackers. I kinda wanted to get them anyway, I just wanted cheap slimes.
A UwU VrChat avatar with a real life arsenal is twice as scary
fr
So do these have the same stomping issue as slime BNO085? since same IMU? (stopps working if you shuffle dance hard for example). OR does axis make sure they dont go brrrr..
Will be testing this tomorrow night as we've got slime support now!
@@BonelessVR nice! share the results will you?
I have a weird question but could if both slime and axis use the same imu boards could they be used together in rhe same application cause i would like to try axis out to supplement my already existing slime setup
Ayeee is that a fellow Pixel Fold user? I fricken love this phone dude
Why are the colors on the top-down camera so muted, but not on the handheld cam?
the code had me rolling LMAO. (SmallPP)
Imagine how good this could be if they integrate Standable when Standable 2.0 comes out
i wouldn't mind them being a little longer to add a bigger battery so we could at least get 8-9 hours on the tracker than it would be a 100% go too over any other IMUs but as it sits today the battery life is a big killer over anything else. because we all know the full body de-gens spend at least 6-8 hours in Vrchat over a play session
HaritoraX IMU's last 20 hours on 1 charge.
Very interesting!
Woah is that boneless merch is see on that phone?!!?111?!1!?1??
wow this was super informative, unfortunately I dont speak this language. But I FEEL like I understand. How does one even start to understand IMU's? magnets are literally magic...
WAIT A SECOND I KNOW THAT FREN
AAAAAAAA THATS WEIIRDDD
Official slimes don't use the magnetometer, so they won't be affected by magnets.
really it just seems to me like the ideal tracker solution is a IMU/inside out optical hybrid that relies on the IMUs for tracking movement, but self corrects itself optically whenever possible to avoid the drifting problems
actually why not use the headset for the self correction? the headset knows where it is at all times and it never loses tracking because well how else do you play vr?
I could be wrong maybe I missed something but why did you have to use owotrack and SlimeVR to use your phone as a hip with just 4 nodes? It looked like it had native support for using a phone as a basestation type hip right?
Their current hip algorithm in steamvr is a bit awful with Axis. Will be doing more testing now that both bounties have been complete!
Hey new to the channel you pulling ou the fucking gun was a flash bang, love the content i subbed.
6:45 bruh lmfao
would have liked to see usb-c instead of a barreljack connector on the charging case
NEW BONELESS UPLOAD. LETS GOOOO
Question, was that handgun a Canik? either way its nice asf
Looks like an H&K VP9 to me
I think your right I was comparing it to something like a Canik METE SFT mostly bc of the indicator thing on the back of the slide
That’s awesome
Guys i need some help im buying my first Vr and i will mostly be playing pcvr should i go for the E4 or the Q3 or somethink else
Just so you know, in the US you CANNOT invalidate a warranty just by opening something. That's a Canada thing
fresh
4 hours of playtime only 😢
i would try do the bounties for some money if they wernt so expensive but oh well
Hell yeah. More people saturating the market for Mocap and SteamVR trackers. Even better they included haptic motors in them. Great for those without phantom sense, like me.
Off topic: what's the avatar your friend is using in the comparison sections/hip bug sections?
yo, shoutout to my pal Reeu
What are these IMUs doing differently to drone flight controllers, that have full six axis sensors along with a microcontroller and all the other stuff needed to control drones, at 4000 hz, in like.. $10?
I mean I guess $750 for 9 works out for like $80 apiece and go to give them some profit but that's still multiple 100% profits and the SINGLE SENSORS for 500 bucks is just obscene heck maybe I should be trying to make one of these just needs power, comms and software
Can you use these dongles with other trackers?
In theory you can, the dongle from what I've seen with other people who have torn them open is just another esp controller that can be flashed for whatever you want
Seems Tahvo has whipped up an OSC router for the haptics
Don't know if they released it though
soooo..... how are they comparing to slimevr. they just seem to be much more expensive for not really all that much back
Pretty sure its due to its haptic feedback compared to slime having none
Bobeless owo clip aquired.
How did you get a trench gun
3:04 sorry but i had to point out the voice crack
Im just wondering, Why cant u just use two on ur lower legs and one on ur hip?
would be interested if I had the time or hardware. VR game dev with no more... or job atm...
Guns!
epic
can i buy it from a store from some eu country?you know, for not paying a currency exange, and deal with tax and inports
Do I have to use a computer?
Is this software available for Linux?
6:45 what now !!!!????
costs $250 for pre-order.
What’s with the guns?
How much is mAm?
based alert
when gun videos?
Until these "professional" businesses can make software that isnt completely shitty and problematic i dont trust any of the trackers that are out.
3:36 Most SlimeVR trackers do not use magnetometers, and hence do not need you to be too overly conscious about magnetic stuff in your play space.
The official BNO trackers for example, do not utilize the magnetometers. Nor does the popular DIY BMI160, 270, and the experimental LSM6DSV IMUs.
owo owo more VR vidz yes pls uwu *nom nom nom nom*
Mental hospital? Bro just finna auto dox like dat?
i love how Americans can seem like the most feminine people in vrchat while still owning multiple guns😂
Honestly I think anything is better than mocopi they are literally the worst trackers on the planet.
:)
First!!! yes finally
I was 1 minute ahead of you
so basically these trackers have almost exactly the same specs as the slimes with the same IMU and same microporcessor just with a shorter battery life and worse software
