Thank you to those who showed up to the premiere! discord.gg/WHNXFahWyz Have you ever ran into someone with a "strange" accessory like this? What was your initial reaction?
It's literally a city. ... Or at this point a country... There are so many people with so many interests, mindsets, and backgrounds. It's always fun to join an instance and hang out with random people. ...That are not at the Blackcat.
Late but adding onto the socialization aspect, those of us with physical disability that struggle to leave the house get a lot out of vr as well. I’m making friends /and/ getting what essentially amounts to physical therapy without worrying about being judged for how long I’m standing/sitting. I’m quite new to the community but it’s been a breath of fresh air for someone with mental and physical health issues. Thank you for your content!
I have the PiShock. It is great fun and hilarious! Question: But Why? Answer: Intimacy. Most of my friends on VRC are on the other side of the planet and that means aside from developing a cripplingly unhealthy sleeping schedule, it also sometimes leaves you wishing you could interact with said friends. But plane tickets are expensive and people have day to day lives and cant have VRC degens sofa surfing them for a few weeks. Sure phantom sense is a thing but its not always guaranteed or possible. Having ways to interact with people physically is just nice and gives connection.
I think they are a real joy honestly. Anything that makes people feel closer together in a healthy, consensual way, love it. I just can't ignore the absurdity of a shock collar being used in a social vr game, it's just so meta haha. I love mine and I love zapping my friends with theirs lmao I'm about to have a VRC degen sofa surfing with me, think I'll come out of this alive?
So was the Episode of Hot Takes where you had the collar as a redeem part of the research I wonder? I hope it was informative, but excellently done video. As some one who was diagnosed with General Anxiety, and not quite SAD (though my therapist stopped short of that for some reason), I can attest to how Vtubing and VRC is a huge help to overcoming it for many of the reasons you said.
That was to get used to the collar and to add some more to Cy’s stream, god it was fun, I hope to be on the next one now that my setup is figured out. Thank you for watching Rei!
Excellent videos, subscribed! My thoughts on VR are that a lot of the experiences are rather mundane. For instance, playing bowling or cooking in VR is not particularly mind-blowing, since these are easily accessible activities in the physical world. In my opinion, developers should prioritize the world aspect and perhaps even consider collaborating with community creators from VRChat, as they have contributed significantly to the medium, often outperforming many developers.
Between work and TH-cam it’s so much easier to just chill with friends in vrc than to waste time driving somewhere to do the same thing I can do at home. I feel your pain!
Pishock, It’s kind of a lot to get it working just in VRC after the eac update. When we control ours we use xsoverlay or OVR to put a window in our view with the websites controls

I thought "SAD" was "Seasonal Affective Disorder"
It is, I hate winter, but in the context of social anxiety SAD is also used. Psychology is weird.
