The only really thing in ranger difficulty that will kill you are the mutants, that's why I have my weapon 1 & 2 is modded for mutants and Tikhar is for everything else. The only thing I wish the game had ws a x2 or x3 scope

Making a pure anything will be worse than having diversity. Quick hands, even after being nerfed several times, is still an insane perk. The 0 stam builds are a great example. Polearms (including polehammer, polemace) as a weapon type are the most versatile in the game and anyone with decent melee skill can benefit from carrying one. Even without quick hands, it allows an injured brother to retreat to the backline while still contributing. Polearm mastery is definitely something for a hardcore support unit. I put it on brothers with good melee skill and stam/HP but just unworkable melee defense, initiative, resolve. Possible builds are bannerman so they can do damage, sword lancers, or dedicated arena fighters. To make it to late game one does need to find a particularly exceptional famed pole weapon for it to be truly useful, but they're very convenient and fun to play with if you do. Good sword lancers decimate goblins and nomads, polehammers can one shot ancient honor guard, I've never really had any success with polemaces though.

I play this on 1.25% my Dude and it sounds like normal speed to me 😂

I agree with fast adaptation. You just gonna miss anyway, especially in the early game. so why not make those misses a little bit more useful? 2 misses will add 20-30% increase in hit chance. thats huge

Ok....It is kinda simple and I felt like a total dunce when I realized this: You must not only save-scum this game after battles, but also save-scum for the purposes of recruiting. Legit...DO NOT BOTHER try outs. Save scum your recruiting efforts. The brothers will not change in between saves. If you recruit a 3-star melee attack with max values, it will be the same after the save. So do that. This game requires save scumming on all levels.

This is quite literally my exact loadout every playthrough, save for leaving a sight of the Ashot. I try the other weapons but the just aren't worth it compared to this setup. This game just needed more levels idk why they didn't just start releasing chapters to have fun in for $15 a piece with no story and just pure gameplay. Maybe have a couple people from around the office voice some stalkers to talk to around campfires or something. Idk, this game just fell off a cliff after Volga. Hopefully stalker 2 is the best stalker clone. No idea why they spent all that time making this game just to cut it so short and not try to profit off of assets they already created.

My first tournament was a close call, my second was a clean sweep. Thankfully it seems to give consistently high tier rewards, my last one gave a one handed cleaver that was orc cleaver damage with kopesh armor effectiveness.

I just started my BB adventure fairly recently and came up with this by myself. Just because I found legendary 2h flail and didn't know what to do with it :) And under right circumstances it actually can one-shot humanoids 100:0 with one hit. Just delete from the map. From full hp and armor to the body on the floor. It happens quite frequently with human footmen and all weaker human units. Sometimes it can happen with mercenaries too.

Swordmaster is the best background in the game and old doesnt even bother me enough to use the waterskin on him. +10 resolve, -10 fatigue, everything else is entirely irrelevant to a melee fighter, its no downside at all to just let him stay old and save the waterskin for a brother who becomes crippled with terrible injuries. My swordmaster is my mace/dagger duelist, and hes's almost overtaken my flail brute in kills despite joining when the guy already had like 150.

Im in the situation right now on my lone wolf playthrough where I know who I want to replace, but I can't. For example, i have a terrible bowyer with 70 ranged attack at lvl 11, but I cant can him until he makes me a masterwork bow, so until that event pops, I'm stuck with him :/ Worst thing is he's been lvl 6+ for months in game, he just wont do the thing and its more frustrating every battle where my other ranged characters dominate and he misses most of his shots even with high ground. I swapped him into throwing weapons just to have any efficacy at all with him.

Dagger mastery is so good that my qatal dagger build is playing out more like a cross between assassin and berserker. I have a swordmaster as my guy for it, and early game I scored the jackpot, a named qatal dagger with -2 from the max damage rolls on both min and max damage (37 damage minimum, my named normal dagger has a max damage of 40) so with that, ive found going for the stun is a complete waste of time, and he does better just spamming regular attacks, since he can actuslly one shot low tier enemies and his high attack stat means he rarely misses. Instead of the mace I honestly just keep some nets around for when i think a target deserves the deathblow. Same AP requirement and it often lasts long enough that their dead before it breaks.

in my first Team i built, it took me like 150 days of NONSTOP city rotation to find THE FIRST sergeant candidate with more then ONE Resolve star.... "late game" means literally NOTHING, because it something inbetween Day 1 and Day 10.000

The only thing I have to point out, is when you're talking about "projected stats", gifted is objectively a bad take. To put it simply, It doesn't get you anywhere you weren't going already, and you should've already taken Student. With Student, your character will be level 11 by the time you normally would hit level 9, so student is two gifted perks, that refund themselves and let you invest in actual combat perks. I get the early game argument but neeeeeever take gifted on an expensive bro, just give them a polearm and grind them up normally.

The NV scope is useless, it should have been switchable for daylight because it is useless in daylight, how many times do you need a 6X scope in the dark, almost zero.

Is there a way to see what the gun is before you pick it up, twice now I have lost my best gun by picking up a gun just to see what it is and not being able to swap back to my gun. I wish the game could tell you what gun you are using instead of just a bit of a picture of it because a few of them you similar when you are rushing to change guns.

I loved this video. I have to say that I feel like you got lucky with everything falling into place (and it's the easiest possible fight on expert), but its a really cool demonstration of how you make decisions regarding every little thing. What I'd love to see is some sort of tips for the stage of the game where on expert you got some brigands like 3-4 brigands with 3-4 thugs - and you still have shit gear tier-1 spears and maybe a couple of tier 1-2 polearms (I had pitchfork and a hooked blade that I bought in the shop coz I knew I had to ramp my damage to be able to win against anything other than brigand thugs) These fights always catch me off-guard in the beginning of the game coz raider armor makes them all but invincible to my guys, who have 65 armor at best (and one 80 armor I bought at the shop) and the tier-1 spears. The way I see it I need better gear for my guys, but on expert-everthing you don't really get leeway money to buy it from shops (maybe if you grind money from easiest contracts for years, but I feel like the time wasted this way is gonna bite me in the ass in the long run), so I expect to have to farm decent gear from enemies with knives\flails etc, however how do you accomplish that when due to gear difference enemies are so much stronger than you 🤔

Thank you for this one. I really needed it as I thought I understood the surround bonus but I was so wrong (I thought it got cancelled by other guys being in base - like in blood bowl) Just understanding that allowed me to start easily winning fights I was barely losing.

I kinda like the normal attack of whips, atleast with thorned whips, because i can use it (when buffed) to HP kill armored enemies withought destroying their armor, so i have had use of a whip focussed build for the purpose of aquiring better armor from mobs. The attack needs to inflict a minimum of 6 HP dmg to add another 10 HP dammage from bleeding, 20 with cleave. Thorned whip is max 25dmg with 20% direct dammage and 30 armor dammage. So for example 20% of 25 is 5dmg and is not enough to cause a bleed but when the user use both hands its +25% dmg means it can do the 6dmg needed to cause bleed which would add another 20Hp dmg (for 2 turns) with cleave, all the while it would have done only 7.5 damage to the armor. So as long as you can pretty reliably hit atleast 6 HP damage with a whip your actually going to do a lot more HP damage to armored opponents trough help of bleed than damage to armor.

So... I know this is a bit old, but my question isn't like... which noble house do I irritate, or why it might be a good/bad idea. I want to know HOW THE HELL DO I WIN?! That... that would be useful info, thanks.
