July 4th 2024 Storms NW Arkansas
After many days of hot weather and no rains, it finally happened on the evening of the 4th of July 2024 over Northwest Arkansas. This short video shows the winds, lightning and thunder of the storms that came by Northwest Arkansas. It ruined many scheduled 4th of July celebrations BUT it did provide a light show of lightning streaks and strikes plus the thunderous sounds of the storms .

On June 8th, 2024 I went to a nature trail maintained by the local Boy Scouts . The trail leads to a lake outside Gentry where a power plant is located. These are some photos/videos of the October - December 2023 hiking trips I made in Northwest Arkansas with our hiking group. We hiked the Kings River trail, Lost Bridge trail, Devils Canyon trail, Spirit Mountain area, High Bank twin falls and other trails in Arkansas. Temps were in the low 30’s to upper 70’s during Autumn and Winter of 2023.
Floating the Buffalo River AR 2024

The March rains had brought in much needed water for the Buffalo River in Arkansas. When that happens, canoeist and kayakers take advantage to go floats at the Buffalo River at the Buffalo National River Park. You can bring your own canoe or kayak. But there are some canoe/kayak rental companies close by the Ponca Low Water Bridge, a popular launching site.

Fern Falls is a short easy 2 mile hike in and out. It is a very scenic trail , the falls and grotto. Fern Fall is just south of Jasper Arkansas on highway 7. There is no parking area , so you have to park off the road by the Byway sign. The trail is just behind the sign. As always , sturdy hiking boots, gloves, hiking poles and water/snacks. Beautiful footage! Seems hiking this area with temps in the high 20°s is ideal. You can enjoy some of the wonderful ice formations without it being unbearably cold.

"You need to look at the schedule when they are going to release water from Beaver Lake"--Bull Shoals Lake dam is where this section of the White River comes out of.

My girlfriend and I are booked to camp there this August (2023). We have been there before and loved the place. I really want to take my 13-year Scottish Border Terrier (Oreo) in for a swim to see if she likes it or not. I am looking forward to the getaway. Thanks for the motivational video.
Good morning. Those are great swimming holes on the Buffalo River. There are others close by, Smith Creek Preserve , south on highway 21 past Boxley Valley. There is a great waterfall and swimming holes. Maybe there will be some rains before you arrive and waters will be flowing . Good luck, might see around. Have FUN.

Did you do the upper section or middle?
Hi, I didn’t go on the float. I was there to help them launch , take some photos and videos. The float leader took some photos while they were floating and let me use them in producing the video. They launch at Steel Creek campground area and went to Kyles Landing. I do hope that helps in answering your question. It is my understanding that is called the Upper Buffalo River

Thank you for sharing. Arkansas is sooo beautiful, but I guess it’s good to “keep it a secret”. I just wish my kids appreciated it enough to come with us! Oh!! The peaceful serenity of God’s gorgeous nature!
Hi, you are welcome. Arkansas is a what we call the “Natural State “. There are so many wonderful trails, vistas , country roads to visit, see and enjoy. Next time you all come to visit give a shout. Maybe if you took some videos and photos of where you go you can share with your kids, get them motivated to go with you , good luck
@@cruzzercruz9279 my kids want to move there every time they go up, but there are inlaws and jobs here. :-( My hubby has been there almost 2 years now, and I'll be joining him officially after Easter with the Grandbabies. We gotta get chickens and start growing some food!

Does Arkansas have a robust Bald Eagle population? So cool..
There are areas where eagles roost. Plus there is a sanctuary place as well . They are also up in Southwest Missouri

Looks like a nice day to be out catching rainbows before it gets hot.
Got there at 7am and it was already 80 degrees. By 9am it was 90. I staying until 9:30-45 then called it a day. Caught 4 nice 13-14 inch trouts, did a catch and release

I'm using a USGS topographic quadrangle. To access spelean sites. Arriving by kayak and hike using predetermined compass bearings. I have technical climbing gear for surface or other vertical issues. I'm happy in not having ice, tidal and volcanic route complications.

I've been in NWA for about 20 years, I've never seen a Golden Eagle here, that's awesome that you caught one on video!
There are many areas in Northwest Arkansas where eagles roost. You might want to drive towards Gravette and Gentry (towards the power plant area, there is a trail , hopefully there will be some eagles). Also in the Buffalo River area there might be some eagles as well. Good luck
