  • 29 of us from the Hill n Dale hiking group went hiking at Devils Den Trail at Devils Den State Park in Northwest Arkansas. The weather was great, sunny skies and temps around 40 degrees when we started out. We hiked up to the pedestal rocks, ravines and waterfalls. Then we hiked to Fossil Flats area and camping sites. It was a loop of about 4.5 miles. Many memorable photos were taken and selfies as well. We did have to navigate some downed trees because previous storms had caused some havoc in the park. You can reach Devils Den State park off interstate 49 in Northwest Arkansas by Winslow or West Fork exits, look for the park signs. You will need to have sturdy hiking boots and hiking poles to navigate the steep climb and coming down. The trails are clearly marked. There is a visitor center by the trailhead , restrooms and small shop to buy water , sodas etc. plus friendly park personnel to answer any questions you may have. Have fun and remember , plenty of water, snacks and dress for conditions
