  • It was a cold but sunny day in Northwest Arkansas when we went hiking to Sweden Creek Falls . We had heard that the waterfall was flowing, not much but when there had been dry days you take advantage of any waterfalls flowing in the area. It was a 3.0 mile in and out hike. We definitely got our exercise going down to the falls and up to where the feeder stream starts. Getting to the falls trailhead. From Huntsville Arkansas you go on highway 412 to highway 21. Take a right at highway 21 to Kingston AR. Pass the town square and continue left on highway 21. Go up the mountain and look for “Red Rock and Adventure Park sign” on the right off the road. Go right into the gravel road. Keep going nice and slow until you come to the parking area/trailhead. The trail is clearly marked and just follow it to the Y on the bluff. You can go to the right and explore the bluffs and down to the bottom of the waterfalls, be careful, take your time . You then come back up to the bluff and go on top of the bluff to where the waterfall starts. Have fun and as always: sturdy waters proof boots, hiking poles , gloves , water and snacks .There are NO restroom facilities , Recommend you stop at the Kingston Gas Station , great breakfast and hamburgers, the cleanest restrooms and small dining area to relax before and after hiking . Go hiking and enjoy the great outdoors
