  • Sharon, Jackie and myself took a day trip to historic Leslie Arkansas , a small quaint village off highway 64 between Harrison and Conway Arkansas. Along the way we stopped at Grinders Ferry recreation area on the Buffalo River and on the way back we took highway 74 to Jasper to go to the Ozark Cafe to get a bite to eat. Along the way we stopped at the Hasty recreation area on the Buffalo River. We are hikers and Sharon likes to kayak as well and we were looking for areas along the river for swimming areas, kayaking and trails to hike. Leslie Arkansas is a little historic village with cafes, bakery, antique shops , streets lined with flowers and cafe shops . From Northwest Arkansas we took highway 412 to Harrison and then highway 64 south to Marshall , Tyler Bend recreation area to get information for future hiking trips and then on to Leslie. We walked around, shopped some and then headed back to Springdale, along the way we stopped at Jasper, AR , famous Ozark cafe to eat and shop a little at Bubba’s Buffalo Shop on the square. We started at 7:30am and arrived back at 4:40pm. Great day trip, recommend it.

I made the statement that it was highway 64 when we went on the trip. It is actually highway 65, thanks to my amiga who told me , she was on the trip. I apologize for the error.
