Osprey in Northwest Arkansas

On June 8th, 2024 I went to a nature trail maintained by the local Boy Scouts . The trail leads to a lake outside Gentry where a power plant is located. At the cove, many birds like geese, herons and cormorants go to. Also, there are a couple of eagles who roost in the surrounding area. I had seen eagles before but this was my first time seeing an Osprey. I was in the area for an about 2 hours , just waiting for an eagle when I spotted the Osprey at a distance. I also saw double crested cormorants sunning plus a turtle. Patience paid off because the Osprey took flight and came in to snatch a fish. It was fun seeing it fly away with its lunch (it was around 11am ) when I took the photos. This lake is located just west of Gentry, Arkansas and by the nature trail. I have seen Cardinals, Mockingbirds, many different butterflies and other wildlife. Nature and the great outdoors is waiting for you. Go!
