OMG why is your stash so full of colours you don't like that don't suit you? And why do you keep using mohair knowing you can't stand it?

I've just caught up on your last several videos, which are always a joy to watch. I noticed you keep mentioning difficulty getting a small enough gauge, which is a problem I've also struggled with. I've been working on reducing my needle movements and this has really helped, mostly based on this video from Suzanne Bryan: th-cam.com/video/OoQT5F4lmJc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=s-yladStlXETOkgX. Maybe it will be helpful for you too.

thank you so much for creating this video! I opened a ravelry account almost three years ago, but maybe i'm from a too young generation (not really when i see other fiber artists online), but i find the website to not be too intuitive, and i always get a bit overwhelmed over it. but now i can see all the possibilities that it offers, and i can't wait to start using it properly! i don't know if you have already talked about it, but by chance do you have tips for the forum part? i would love to find groups and participate in conversations around fiber arts, but i'm not really sure how to look for these groups on the website. again, thank you so much! ♡

I would like to thank you for your honesty and vulnerability. And I will really enjoy a podcast where I am not being bombarded by “this is great. I got it for free. And here is a code” I have found as channels grow they all end up like that and I end up stop watching as instead of feeling a connection with a fellow knitter I am being sold. So all that to say - you do you. Most people relate to a “normal” chat vs a movie production. ❤

Feel the same, and I think a lot of people do. Sometimes you have to concentrate on other things that are joyful as well. I came back the 27th of december. I I honestly think I did not miss that much. There is a difference between people that try to make a living with knitting and people that are in for the fun of it. But I think the more proffesional people get, the more boring? That is just my mindset. I like people just talking about their knitting. I try to concentrate on what I want to make, and sometimes it takes time, because I am waiting for the right yarn or the right time. I am not worried a bit about not finishing. All in good time. This christmas I put on a knit I made in spring 2023 and did not wear it till now. I really loved it. Having plans to make another with the yarn I should have made it with. It will be totally different. You do not catch that in You tube or Instagram. You just experience the joy of knitwear in your own life. And that is the fun of it. Well for me off course, everybody is different and that is a good thing too. Hope to see you again, whenever that will be. No worries🙋🏼‍♀️

Your presence is refreshing. I am knitting while watching and don’t really care about a bunch of extras. If it brings you joy to be here and share, I will find joy in listening to you and seeing the pretty things you make. I actually prefer that you aren’t pushing a bunch of stuff to buy and using your stash. And I am about at the time that I tune out of TH-cam and Instagram because I am not a fast knitter and when everyone posts their “I made 100 sweaters this year” videos, it makes me feel sad and inadequate. I learned last year that if I want to continue to love this craft, I have to stop consuming that sort of content. So when I was knitting last night, the 28th of Dec, I came back to your channel and re-watched you. Congratulations on your new home and this season of life is quite rich and fulfilling, but naturally won’t have as much down time and that’s ok. Enjoy your real life and we will all be delighted if it ever brings you joy to share a video of your makes with us.

Don't lower yours standards!!! Just be aware that your standards can not apply to all of the things you value in your life at the same time. That is too much. Sometimes there is room for this and sometimes it is something else. But to me you seem to be a person who knows what comes first. Your future and your happiness are very close to you. The rest is important, of course. But sometimes there are these choises that are inevitable to make. It will be oké, no doubt. Maybe not in the way you could have imagened, but nevetheless it will be oké.

Lovely to see you again! Congratulations on your first house - how exciting!! I appreciate your philosophy about posting and social media influencing. I only watch TH-cam and rarely use Pinterest anymore, but even with podcasts, I do tire a bit of all the advertising. I’ve also recently moved to a new house, which needs a lot of expensive repairs, and am re-starting my career in a new country, which means some financial setbacks for a while… I will remain on my no-buy phase for as long as necessary. I like your question of “is THIS really the project that I want to break my pact for?” Generally, the answer will be no. I own 2 beautiful knitting books, own many patterns, have a library source and have a large stash of somewhat random yarn. I can always find a beautiful project with those resources and consider myself lucky. Enjoy your first Christmas in your new home!😊

Hi Vanissia! I'm a smei new subscriber but I have been binge watching your content over the last month. Congratulations on buying a new house! 🤩It takes a lot of creative energy to find places for all the furniture and decoration. But it's so rewarding too! I usually watch YT videos on my phone and usually I'm also knitting while I'm watching/listening, so I didn't notice any problems with quality. I prefer casual and chatty videos, so I hope that you keep making videos without too much stressing over notes or looks or kamera/sound tech.💚

Yay welcome back! I think the turquoise coloured yarn looks great, not too marled, gives it nice depth. Well done on being so disciplined in not buying yarn! Oh just watched the end of the video. I think this video was great! You're still very detailed and meticulous in your reviews, and I'm sure your followers (like myself) appreciate your candor about patterns and yarn etc. Happy to watch whatever content you do manage to make, I do love your stash busting content though (like your 1-2 skein project round ups) ❤ congrats on the new house!!

I’ll be happy to hear from your knitting life and life whenever you find the time. It’s very relatable to have “life getting in the way”, so no worries about that 🙂. Knitting is not a race. Also thanks for our thoughts on influencing and overconsumption, it resonated with me. Of course podcasting can be a lot of work, so I also understand why some people accept sponsorships, but I try to avoid ads and often skip them.

I'm already doing the Oslo hat with a pattern. Make sure that you make the brim larger. Otherwise, the threefold will be too tight on the head if you want to include a pattern on the outside fold. There's not that much space for a pattern on the rest of the hat, if you do the pattern outside the brim only, so keep that in mind. That is what I have found. Looking forward to what you come up with. 🎉

Lovely to see you back here Vanissia- you were missed! I’m sure we will all be happy to see your videos whenever you have the time and energy to film them. Don’t put any pressure on yourself - none of us want that!! I love seeing whatever you’ve been working on and hearing about what you’ve been up to, and like some others have mentioned it would be fun to hear about ‘new house’ things as well 😊.

I'm glad to see you're back! I agree with others- happy to see you and what you're doing anytime and personally I prefer a laidback and chatty style. Content creators are always talking about their lighting and background etc. but I never even notice that kinda stuff unless it's so bad you can't see what they're holding up or something. Congrats on the new home and good luck with all your house projects!

🎉 glad you were absent for good things in your life and happy to see you pop up again! Honestly the thing you say at the end about “I want it to be like we met up for coffee” is the reason I’ve watched your videos for so long. You do you best. Keep doing it.

🧶🌈❤️ thank you so much for your honesty. And please feel free as you want - I love to watch your videos and don’t need more info and preparation if you don‘t have time or the head (I don‘t know if that’s the right expression, sorry). See you and have a good time
