Just replaced the full carb but it's struggling to start and sometimes when it does start after tweaking, it either surges like the video or does on big continuing surge and then stalls, some help please

Fail of a video. I watched this to find out what was wrong with the mower, not to get lawncare advice. Did not really solve any problems. Brand new oil. Brand new filter. Clear breather hose. Massive oil leaking through filter. Next video please.

why not add a manual choke cable to the replacement carb and adjust the carb by yourself?

Great mower, I race mine in a local competition. I run aftermarket pulley on mine to get it really moving. Also had it dyno tuned. 👍

@dad's workshop... can you look at this and tell me how to remove the #1 screw that is to the right of where you worked? You remove two of the three in the video...but I want to understand what that other screw is and how to remove, clean, and replace it...Thank you for a great video..with wonderful music.

Very helpful video. Thanks a lot. Helped me to resolve exactly the same problem with my relatively new and little used HRN536 with the GCV170 engine. I never had this problem with the old Hondas. Whether this is an ethanol issue or whether the new idle jets are more prone to clogging I don't know. I could not unscrew the idle jet - it was fast, but carb cleaner and ultrasonic cleaning did the trick. Thanks again

Ive a 2019 hrx217 k6vla versamow that is kinda dragging the left rear wheel and when it does roll its making a clacking noise as it goes around. The drive still works fine. It seems ti only be like that when im pushing it without engaging the transmission. At first i thought it was a wheel bearing,so i replaced the left wheel where im hearing the noise. Noise didnt go away obviously. At a glance the gear looks ok,tire sits nice and straight,shaft seems tight. Im really stuck on this one,please help if youve any ideas.

U removed too many components which to a beginner diyer would be too complex. U didn’t have to remove handle for chip director, blade adapter; cover shroud Everything else u did ok

I'm 2 years old using 2 hrn216 to cut 20-33 houses per day and I never had problems and you're going to get me without using it you'd be better hurt tell me you're a bull boy but sling is much better , I use sling because simply the cut is better and it doesn't leave the grass dirty just does a better job with the double blades

Thank you for the video! This has been a big help with my repair. I did have a question. If the bushings in the height adjuster do need to be replaced, what are best practices when installing the new bushings? Do they require any lubricant at all? I wasn’t sure since they are plastic. Also do I just use a hammer to tap it down into the wheel assembly hole?

Good video but NEVER EVER start your mower inside your garage. Honda advise against this in their owners manual. A close friend did this once and now his entire family are dead. From an unrelated tragic car accident, but still you should follow the Honda owners manual.

Honda mowers have been suspect for years. Buy a real mower- Toro. I suppose it is too much to hope for Jacobsen to reenter.

Thanks for the video but that's alot more work than what i want to deal with. Just a question though. I just bought my new mower on May 2nd. I don't even have the initial 5 hours on it yet and the smart drive stopped working. The belt seems way to loose but not broken and the cable looks ok still. Any thoughts before i call the warranty department? I'm not working on a brand new 600 dollar mower. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I went with the Toro Recycler Max. My concern was Honda getting out of the lawn and garden segment and the Toro 5 yr warranty. On sale for $499 with a Lowe’s 10% coupon. My last 190cc Toro GTS lasted 13 yrs. Hopefully this one gives me 10. While my analytical brain said Honda, my gut said Toro.

Wouldn’t work on my Troy Bilt 330 until I found a soft spot on the paper label. I punched a hole in the label to reveal a square hole. Use a screwdriver in the hole to release the hook!

As a lwncare business I'll say it was a game changer for me.i sharpen blades and clean deck twice a week and it cut that time down drastically and took out any doubts of proper angle and what not

That long pause at the beginning told me it was going to be a frustrating watch. Not a lot of helpful information there.

My Honda is 8 months old, and I just stored it for winter with all the right fuel steps, I am very OCD. The thing was surging this spring. I followed all steps from video and still surging with no fix. As it was back together with just the paper air filter removed, I ran the carb cleaner can near the intake port in the small hole on the right as it was running and it cured it. I think the problem is the lack of paper filter fuel filter. On all my old machines, I installed paper filter fuel filter and it would start like a charm come spring. I use the oversized sit down lawm mower MTD ATLAS Style filters. #endrant.

Another possible cause of oil leaking out through the air filter housing is: tipping the mower over on the carburetor side to clean the underside of the mower deck. The crankcase ventilation tube typically connects to the air filter housing and this is where oil can leak out of the crankcase into the air filter housing . Been there, done that. If you do this, suggest removing the spilt oil from the air filter and housing, AND avoid tipping the mower on that side in the future. Keeping carb side up when tipping mower over should eliminate issue. ***Highly suggest running mower completely out of gas and allow engine to cool down before tipping on it's side*** Here's a great video explanation of this: th-cam.com/video/l4NB7MiUEbE/w-d-xo.html

Mine is a Black Eagle lawn mower. I removed the 2 nuts and fuel cap. I have to lift the back of it enough to lift it over the 2 screw threads but it still won't come off. Thinking about my slege hammer for second go??
