You're awesome! This part of my saw broke a while back and glue doesn't hold for long. This completely fixed it. I didn't have PVC on hand but I drilled out a piece of 1/2" CPVC with a 31/64" bit.
This is PRECISELY what broke on my Craftsman saw. I didn't think I'd put very many miles on it. Disappointing that this piece is so weak. Brilliant fix, sir! Thank you!
I'm glad you posted this, thank you. I was just about to buy this saw but this convinced me not to go cheap, I'll just spend the money and buy a Dewalt. The last thing I want to do is fix my new saw.
I actually broke the bracket that you placed the pvc pipe in (part# 2VPR) and it's discontinued. It's not fixable ... unless I can replace the whole bracket. Let me know if you ever so a source for the hole part. Great video though.
Anyone else's plastic handle leaching some sort of oily substance? My guess is that it's a result of the breakdown of cheap plastic. Y'know, the kind that causes cancer for people in California.
THANK YOU! This will solve a problem I've been dealing with for several years.
Hell yeah Barbara! Good to hear this fixed your problem and thanks for watching.

Thank you for this! I just fixed mine and it's as good as new now!

This worked beautifully!
The one part you removed broke on mine cause someone stepped on the knob. Is there a fix for that or do you know the part's name?
