    The trunk lid was formed incorrectly during manufacturing. Cannot be adjusted. The plug in problem, just expand the prongs outward by hand. Should be more snug fitting. The door handle squeak can be solved by try spraying WD -40 inside the handle hinge when the handle pops out to be opened.

      No WD-40 inside something with plastic !!! In some case it will melt parts and the handle will be un-usable. I know, I lent a can to a musician who wanted to put lub in his electric pedals, they where scrap after...

    I sold my Tesla Model S because I needed 13 service visits in 2.5 years, I couldn't take it anymore. I totally understand that service can ruin an otherwise good car. I felt like something was always breaking within a month of my previous repair.

      Oh gosh, that's extensive. Sounds like you had a lemon. Every manufacturers makes some duds, Hyundai has not done a good job of trying to fix theirs. Tesla seems to move quicker on things but I've heard some horror stories there as well.

      I feel that, and unfortunate for my area is that if there is any disassembly needing to be done to the Tesla vehicle. Then the vehicle would have to travel a few hours to another city's center. The Tesla services near me do not work with any mechanical disassembly including removing a seat to replace a sensor underneath. So the car would be shipped just to get the seat removed by other Tesla Techs, then ship the car back to my city for software configuration. Then ship back a few hours to their other center to reinstall the seat, and ship back to my city for completion. It's such a roundabout way for repairing a simple sensor under the seat but the Techs here locally can't do any disassembly themselves and only work on software alone. Takes weeks or months for other repairs to occur in my area, especially when your repairs have to be on a waitlist if they are unable to process you at the time. Telsa repair is not streamlined in all areas and so depending where you live this is a deal breaker to sell the Tesla

      Buying any Tesla is a roll of the dice in terms of will it be good in the long run or not - these cars do not use traditional door latch mechanisms so if you are at all hurt in your car you will never get out of your car in an accident - if there is a fire you are 99% likely dead @@Jeez001

To date, no malfunctions and no fit/finish build quality issues whatsoever. I'll keep posting both the good and the bad. (I haven't tested the 120v outlet under the rear seat yet).

    Thanks for including both the good and the bad. Several weeks ago some "buyback" 2022 Ioniq 5s started showing up for sale in Phoenix area, and I've been searching youtube and the internet trying to understand better what wasn't Hyundai telling me, and trying to understand better what the service experience would be if I bought one. I haven't done the legwork to understand the answers to some key questions (what sort of warranty is associated with the vehicles, whether some of the buybacks are also sneaking onto carvana without being labeled as such, etc.) and the video doesn't solve everything, but I think really helps fill in some gaps along the lines of little things that can go wrong and when the dealer service experience doesn't go well, what does that look like.

    • @CarsJubilee
      @CarsJubilee  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    My ownership experience has been mostly great. I've only had two issues:
    1. The velcro stickers on the carpet behind the back seats came unstuck. Hyundai replaced the carpet and stickers (and the dealership's tech used his foot to prop the driver's door open and pushed dirt into my speaker), and the new ones immediately failed. The dealer didn't offer a second replacement. I think the surface of the carpet back could be roughed up so that a different glue gets better adhesion, but this issue is unresolved.
    2. My charge port door button stopped working. I had to use the key until the part arrived. They disassembled the trunk interior to replace the entire chargeport. The dealership's tech opened my spare tire kit (for some reason?) and left it strewn out in the trunk. They added some dirt to the interior surfaces and returned my car dirtier than it arrived. They gave me a voucher for a carwash.
    The car has been really great to own, except when it comes time to bring it in for service.

      Oh gosh, haha I never mentioned they left dirty grease smudge marks everywhere after they passed my car around the different departments trying to adjust the rear. No offer to clean.

I finally test drove the IONIQ after like a year of waiting for inventory and while I loved the drive and ride quality, we ultimately decided to keep our Model Y. There was a story about totalled Ionic 5s due to road debris on the strikeplate underneath the car resulting in a repair cost of $56K (canadian) and the insurance company deciding to total it. It sounds like even when nothing major goes wrong, Hundai just isn't up to the task of manufacturing and servicing their vehicles. Thanks for the video. Maybe it will prevent others having similar problems.

    • @onlysublime
      @onlysublime 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      well, there is a difference. in the event of possible damage to the battery, Hyundai doesn't try to repair the battery since they don't believe they have a process that can identify bad components. They just replace it with a brand new battery. When you have to replace a battery from say, the Tesla, Tesla will not sell you a completely new battery. They fix your current battery by replacing the bad cells. And these "new" cells are not new but cells scavenged from other recovered batteries. So not only do you retain your current aged battery, you get "new" aged cells that should match the age of your current battery. So while you are paying lower for a Tesla battery, it's not a new battery but a used battery. You are not rolling back the clock to a new battery but you are going forward with the same aged battery.

    • @carbondragon
      @carbondragon 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@onlysublime I don't have a Tesla and know only what I hear from various youTube videos but my understanding is that Tesla doesn't repair YOUR battery. They replace it with a refurbished one and then send yours back to the factory where it gets salvaged to provide later refurbished batteries. And yes this is potentially better but only if they charge you less (and my understanding is that generally they do). But if your battery has a minor problem that might have cost $200 to fix, you'd still get charged quite a bit for that refurbished battery. The super expensive battery is still the achilles heel of EVs and the hundai incidents show that that is true even during the supposed warranty period. I'm glad to have you and your compatriots on youTube be pioneers on this issue so I don't have to.

      I think that's true for Hyundai here in the US, they don't seem to know how. Unless this was truly a manufacturing error where holes weren't lined up? I had several similar but smaller gaps on my Tesla Model Y but the service center fixed all of them easily within 2 days on the first attempt. I assumed Hyundai would be able to handle this but sadly they couldn't.

    I have the liftgate rattle on a 23 Limited. I've been able to fix it with a stack of those little felt pads you put on the bottom of chair legs. I put them right on the corners of the upward facing side of the car, where the liftgate comes down. The gate presses down on them when it closes, compressing them. This keeps the gate from rattling. I'd prefer the dealer fix it but it was driving me nuts so until I can get it in the shop, this does the trick.

    Body panel fit and finish really isn't a dealer warranty issue (unless they have a body shop and made a repair). That's an initial quality issue and is on the factory. I'm sure the dealer tried to fix it, but that is really outside of their normal warranty repair type of work. I get that the panels weren't lined up and that you were disappointed, but I can give you hundreds of examples of production vehicles, from BMW to Cadillac with chronic panel alignment issues from the factory. Really, only Toyota and Honda seem to be able to consistently produce cars with perfect panel alignment and gaps -- for everyone else it's a bit of a crap shoot. Just pointing this out. Rattle and outlet are things that they should have fixed, though. I couldn't hear the squealing handles. But maybe a bit of silicone lubricant sprayed on the handle would help with that.

    • @CarsJubilee
      @CarsJubilee  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ya the dealer really had no chance when it came to fixing the panel issue. I agree this was faulty at the factory level and most other ioniq 5 do not have this issue, that's why I wanted corporate to do something about it.

    I've had issues with Hyundai failing to understand an issue, requiring multiple visits before the repair was successfully accomplished. The root cause was the rear Electric Oil Pump not working at all, allowing rear motor temp raising to 200 degrees f, causing it to stop operating. Since I have an AWD, the front motor kicked in, so was not stranded. Because no DTC was posted for the non responsive EOP, or for the high temp of the rear motor, or the failure of the rear motor to function, Hyundai was unable to recognize an issue existed. Fortunately, after many attempts, my dearler authorized the EOP replacement, which, after a lot of inconvenience, resolved my issue.

    Congrats on the continuing health improvement of your baby.
    As far as the issues with your car, the only one I would have had fixed is the peeling paint/trim. The other issues are not worth fixing because they're aren't technically broken. The misaligned trunk would be imperceptible to most people, including you, because I'm sure it was like that when you first purchased it. The electrical outlet issue was because you were using a two prong cable instead of a three. So of course any kind of bump could move it. This happens to me on my regular outlets at home sometimes too. Did you test it with a three prong cable?
    The squeaking handles is not a malfunction either. Has to do with physics and design of the handles but cold freezing Temps are a known problem for those types of handles in general.
    Those kinds of issues are not uncommon on new models. Also, it seems you are somewhat of a perfectionist so take a little more time to be even more super critical when you buy your next car knowing how you are so you can be happy with your purchase.
    Lastly, Hyundai should be commended for rebuying your car. I don't think another car company would have done that based on the relatively inconsequential issues involved.

    • @CarsJubilee
      @CarsJubilee  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks! I get it, everyone has different thresholds for what they want fixed. I just didn't think it would all be this difficult for them.
      I was upset about the trunk because mine was visibly worse than others once I noticed it.
      The outlet fails with three prong as well, every egmp car with the us style outlet has this issue, but not the case for European owners. I think they forgot to quality control check the US market outlet.
      As for squealing handle, my ioniq 5 and gv60 both squealed in the winter and have started to rattle/ratchet the last few months. My gv60 just went in for service and they found my rattling handle was indeed failing. The mechanism was getting stuck. They only replaced one but I've got another one that's begun to rattle/ratchet. Most likely will need all door handles on both cars changed out soon.
      I would agree I probably care more or can find more than the average person. But Tesla which is known for poor quality control has been a much better experience for me. They have zero issues fixing panel gaps or other things whereas Hyundai can't seem to fix anything on the first try.
      I'm happy that they are buying it back 100% haha very appreciative. But my car was in service for over 90 days with repeated visits for the simplest things. Then they scratched my bumper and made my trunk rattle for 6 months and failed miserably in fixing it. There's a chance my car qualifies for lemon law buyback for my state just due to days out of service. That's my guess at this point. Mostly inconsequential issues as you mentioned but that's a lot of hours I spent driving the car back and forth because they couldn't even replace basic window trim on the first try. I'm hopeful others are having better experiences than me.

      @CarsJubilee Understood. But I wouldn't hold out Tesla as a good example of top notch customer service. I have three friends that have had to take in their brand new cars within weeks of buying them. A few years ago they would loan you another Tesla. I've heard now they give you some kind of ride sharing credit/per diem you can use. Not sure how convenient that is over several days or weeks. And even in places like the LA area there aren't many Tesla Service Centers compared to Hyundai dealerships. At least you can shop around for a better Hyundai dealership if you're not getting good customer service.
      I've had Fords, Nissans, Pontiacs, and Toyotas. Toyotas have been far and away the best with Nissan second.
      I almost purchased the first year Ioniq 5 Limited. I put down my $100 but it just took too long and the dealerships I was working with weren't getting the trim and color I wanted. They were also charging over msrp so I canceled my reservation and got my $100 back. Just before that, I happened see the 2023 Prius Prime at the 2022 LA Auto Show that November and was blown away. That day I decided to get one. In March of 2023 I put $500 down to reserve a Prius Prime XSE Premium in blue. Happy to say I got my new car two weeks ago. It's a great car.
      BTW, I had planned to get the Ioniq 5 in white and have some custom decals put on each front door with the number 5 within a circle and have a custom wrap on the hood with a stylized M on it. Sound familiar? I grew up with the Speed Racer Japanese Manga cartoon so I'm a big fam. So my Ioniq 5 was going to be my very own Mach 5. In the last few weeks, I've been thinking seriously to sell mine too. I have some of the issues you listed as well as other issus.
    So the door trim peeling issue exist in my car but it's not as annoying to me as the other 2 issues.
    The first annoying issue is the driving seat not stable. During curves or fast maneuver or even if you hit a road bump, i would feel that the seat d moving as if the vertical and horizontal parts are not tighten well.
    The second issue is related to AC charging. For some reason, my car doesn't charge at the high rated AC (9ish kW). I found that 6kW or so is a good number where it doesn't divert to slower charge speed.

    • @CarsJubilee
      @CarsJubilee  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah man sorry to hear that.
      Yes I've had that exact sliding seat issue! Took me 2 tries with them to get it fixed. There is a tsb for Canadian market but not for US. I got my issue escalated after first failed attempt and they sent field service engineer (dealership techs couldn't find any issue) out and he ordered the full replacement that appears to follow Canadian tsb. So I would get the case escalated if you haven't already (request engineer to review) and cite as safety issue. Hopefully they can resolve, mine definitely is fixed now.
      Ah the dreaded overheating while charging issue. Something is overheating, many owners have documented it. Not sure that I've heard the fix has worked. If you need the faster overnight charging times then this will probably be an on going issue for a while until they figure something out.
      Plus with ford and gm adopting Tesla charging hardware, CCS is doomed and means you don't want to keep this long term. I loved my ioniq 5 but I think it was the right time to switch.

    I don’t understand why any car needs to sit for 2 days let alone 2 months at any dealership waiting for service. It’s not like the technicians are spending 1,500 consecutive man hours working on it. What happened to inspect and diagnose in one visit, order parts, and then repair in a separate visit. Cars shouldn’t need to sit at the dealership waiting for service. They should be there long enough to diagnose, and then scheduled for estimated tool-time duration. If it takes longer it takes longer but at least you have your car in between.

That said, thank you for the sacrifice of sharing with through to it video review. The Ioniq 5 was going to be my first EV, until my wife took one look at at and said, "that ugly thing!" With those kind words 😅😂 I never looked back and we purchased our 2023 VW ID.4. Other than my own frustrations with the contrary infotainment system, the experience has been great. Accordingly, I can easily recommend the VW ID.4 for anyone, especially a first time Electric Vehicle owner. We love it. Again, thanks, and God bless 🤓

    If I watched this video without actually going through Hyundai service myself I would think you were exaggerating but unfortunately I've experienced a very similar experience. I've purchased a lot of different cars from Japanese to German and none have been nearly as bad as Hyundai. You use the word "frustrating" and I totally hear you. Delivery issues that were cosmetic were responded to as "car is functional", "it might go away in 6 months", and "it's wear and tear" [for a new car, that term is laughable], and ultimately an utter refusal to correct it to the point of being ghosted.
    In terms of referring you to corporate, the customer shouldn't have to do that...they should do that. An ounce of common sense exercised by the dealer's staff would tell them no customer should have to accept these defects.
    You are very diplomatic in saying that they stepped up to do the right thing. I don't think that was the motivating factor at all. I think their concern was the fact you have a social media presence that could do damage so this was likely damage control vs expected customer service. Personally, I would never advise anyone after my experience to buy a Hyundai as they simply don't stand behind their products.

    • @CarsJubilee
      @CarsJubilee  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ya it's really unfortunate about the servicing, they are making such cool cars and EVs right now but the customer service just isn't there to support their products.
      I've heard that service in other countries is actually pretty good, for whatever reason it's just terrible here in the US. I haven't lost all faith in the brand the US market has a lot of work to do to catch up with servicing.
      It is possible they looked at my small social media presence :) but I think if that was the case they would or should have done something before I went with a lemon law lawyer after I tried for about a year unsuccessfully to have them do something, anything.
      My lawyer and I were very surprised they offered to buyback instead of a small settlement. The buyback saved me probably $15,000-$20,000 in depreciation and sales tax versus a settlement which probably would have gotten me $5,000 back. I feel like that was a gesture of goodwill but who knows haha.

    Honestly to me the only issue was the weather stipping issue. The door handle issue is more than likely a component contraction issue, and unless you want them to create a new type of element that doesn't expand/contract due to temps, then it is something you will have to deal with. The body issue was more than likely there when you bought the car and therefore unfixable do the asssembly process, and should have been rejected by you as the purchaser and another unit chosen. Drive time to and from the dealership isn't the fault of the dealership nor yours. Just the way it worked out. Even if all the issues you are claiming are legit, the way the dealer/corporate see them is a non-issue and not worth their time or money to fix, which is why you got the run around. That is going to happen with most dealerships. The rattle is frustrating for certain, but honestly it sounds as if they removed or loosened an impact rubber stopper and that is causing this sound...should be fairly easy to track down and identify. You are actually quite lucky they agreed to a buy back. FYI...I learned this lesson 30+ years ago when buying a car. You are not just buying a car, you are investing into the service department. Whenever I plan on buying a new car, I investigate the unit super carefully (made easier by people such as yourself) AND I talk to customers waiting in the service center about their experience with repairs to their cars and how Service treats them. It is amazing how much information you can get from current owners to help you make the right choice. Good Luck on the next unit!

      Watch my newest Tesla video, they were able to fix all the misaligned panels after purchase. Hyundai surprisingly needs to learn a thing or two from Tesla about panel gap repairs for after sales service.
      In the winter of 2022, there really wasn't an option to find a different car, it was this one or wait 3-4 months probably. And I thought they would be able to fix it.

Especially with these recent cases regarding Hyundai requiring insurance companies to pay 60k to replace the battery on the Ioniq 5 after minor debri contact instead of them checking the battery and maybe doing a refurbished one or maybe just fixing the battery cover. You’re really being rather nitpicky about the tailgate fit, and there’s no way any sane person would have their car in the shop that much for something that is literally so minor. I get that you would like it to be perfect , but it’s not a perfect world. I would rather have the tailgate a little bit out of alignment, than have it rattling all the time. I have a feeling no matter who you buy a car from, you’re going to be complaining about it on the Internet. There’s no such thing as a perfect car, and you might sleep better once you figure that out. Trust me, I’m speaking from experience, because I’m overly OCD about issues on vehicles as well. The window trim would get worse and would look awful. V2L not working ever would be annoying. My sliding seat would get worse over time and could become dangerous etc. I also wouldn't want to pass it all on to the next owner, they deserve better even when they pay for it at used car prices.

      100% agree. I took a risk here and learned the hard way haha.
      At the time of purchase, there were 2 dealerships within 20 minutes that were supposedly in the process of becoming EV certified, that would have saved me a lot of driving time. However, it ended up taking them almost 2 years to get certified and by then Hyundai had already bought my ioniq 5 back as a lemon.
      On the plus side, we have lemon laws to protect us and in my case PA lemon law only takes a very very small deduction for mileage. So while it was a rough experience and very time consuming, we essentially drove the ioniq 5 for free for almost 2 years.

    Congrats on getting rid off the car. Definitely the best outcome. All your complaining wasn’t really making for good clips. The short story is you bought a dud, you bought it at a dealer which you then never went to again and instead used other dealers that weren’t really that interested in you, and finally you made enough noise for Hyundai to buy it back.
    I had two of the same issues with my Ioniq 5 but the story is so different from yours. Back door rattle and internal V2L never working. I didn’t really get worked out about either. It took me a while to notice both problems and I was in no rush to get them fixed. I alerted Hyundai to them and said I would come by some time. Hyundai already readied a replacement V2L for me. When I had an opening and need to be in the area anyhow I called and got an appointment right away. The rep knew immediately how to fix the door rattle (there are adjuster screws for it) and the V2L was replaced in no time. While waiting there was a TV crew visiting to do a program about Hyundai and I got interviewed by chance, and will now appear on TV. So: similar issues, but no aggregation on my part, super treatment by Hyundai, and a bonus by making it onto TV…

      Squeaking door handle means something is not quite right. I would expect over time that that squeaking handle would fail and I definitely would not want to risk it failing when I'm out of warranty down the road in a few years and have to pay out of pocket. 100% would want that fixed asap.
      And actually the same goes for all the other small issues. Trunk hatch according to the dealership and my own photos has continued to move on its own between/after adjustments. What if it gets worse and I have issues opening closing out of warranty? Do I want to live with that rattle for the foreseeable future? Am I okay with paying for a working V2L outlet but not having a functional one?

    This just sums up all the experience with hyundai - nothing actually breaks, but a lot of squeaks and rattles. Dealerships can do warranty only if it is actually broken, forget about misalignment or "something is off" - they will not fix it until it is actually broken. Other than that, a very reliable car. Mine did 205k already and is still on original break pads

    That lift gate alignment thing is a real bummer. I have a similar alignment issue on my GV80, but I don't plan on getting it fixed by the dealer. Because I know they will do more harm than good after wasting countless hours and mounting frustration. I will investigate and see if there is any adjustments I can make myself. The V2L outlet thing doesn't really look like a defect or a design issue. Your charger brick is heavy. It disconnects when there is a jolt, which is kind of expected from the design of the 2-prong charger brick. It's not engineered to stay in place when used inside a moving vehicle. In this case, you could improvise a workaround. For example, you could get a short extension (make one yourself since it's kind of a specialty item) so that the weight of the charger brick is no longer held by the 2 prong outlet.

    • @CarsJubilee
      @CarsJubilee  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah sorry to hear similar issue with the gv80, my gv60 is perfect so it's very strange that your gv80 is like that. I do agree, they will probably do more harm than good.
      The phone charger was one of many different things I've tried. I primarily want to charge my laptop on the go. That has a power brick that sits on the ground and then a 2 foot long 3 prong cable that plugs in so no weight on v2l. That also fails while driving constantly.
      Dealership has tested and replaced it but now they say every v2l on the lot does the same thing. Funny enough all European owners say theirs work perfectly. I assume it was only quality control checked for the Korean/euro receptacle style and then they threw in the US one without checking.

    • @DIYQuad
      @DIYQuad 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@CarsJubileeOh I see, the power brick shown is not the charger for the laptop. If the receptacle can't hold a 3 prong cable without the weight of a power brick, that's indeed a problem!

    Thought you will talk about more serious issues but ok.
    1. Dealerships suck at fixing such small issues because they are incompetent, because they don't want to deal with it or both.
    2. You should take your car to local body shop for trunk adjustment, to local electrician to fix a small bad connection issue with charger, it's clear it only needs a small adjustment or additional fixing to keep a proper contact.
    3. All parts can squeak in clod dry weather so a bit of WD 40 would be a lot easier and cheaper then driving 4 hours for them to tell you they can't replace them.
    4. First try to fix such small things yourself, use your brains as it's usually a lot easier, faster, cheaper and with better results then waiting for dealership to waste hours or days trying to fix small thing they don't want to deal with, they are overpaid for dealing with such things.
    5. If car is new and under warranty you are mistaken if you think stupid dealerships can resolve or must resolve every small thing, just because they are suppose to as many times they are totally incompetent, rigid in their approach and have no ide how to improvise or think out of the box. In other words they work by the book and you can't resolve all the problems with such approach.
    6. Don't expect others or rely on dealership to do every tiny thing for you as you can do it a lot better then they can.

  • @jeffgrimsley6209
    @jeffgrimsley6209 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So I have an Ioniq6, and same comment as with your 5, pretty good overall, but but but, I have the same types of stupid issues too, one that Hyundai finally gave in and fixed, the others may be just QC problems that have no fixes and those I hate and are concerning. Drivers front seat, white interior, started coming
    apart in several locations. Turned major and they finally had to replace it at 10,000 miles. Horn went out at 5,000 miles and they screwed up a spacer between the bumper and the fender taking the bumper off to fix the horn. The ambient light sensors are a nightmare so when you drive on highways with a lot of bridges, the dash and all the other lights of accessories dim on and off continuously, to the point you cant see the dash on most occasions, no way to turn off and keep a constant light intensity. They say no fix, I say BS. It needs a delay. I drive on super smooth roads and a battery tray vibration is starting to develop and seems to be getting worse. Last and is the most irritating, the Electrify America “free chargers”. They are junk, every station you go to,it’s irritating, love the Car but this is why I should have got a Tesla…… TBC

      Oh boy sorry to hear it's been such a rough go with your new ioniq 6.
      Your experience sounds just like mine when i first bought the ioniq 5 and then gv60. No one seemed to know anything about the car or how to service it.
      I just don't get why the service is so poor here. I know for a fact from other owners around the world that service in Europe and their home turf Korea and other parts of Asia are sooo much better. Maybe better training, held to higher standards, I don't know.
      But it's just a shame, great cars being let down by the servicing side.

    I am in CA and had a problem with my 2023 IONIQ 5 SEL cabin FAN! My car was in dealership for 31 days, I got my car back after 31 days and have not had any issues after that, however I filed for Lemon, so Hyundai either has to to give me some money (Cash & Keep) or repurchase the car so I will have a choice to either buy another IONIQ 5 or most likely an IONIQ 6.
    You may file for Lemon if your car has been in dealership for more than 30 days in the first 18 month of your vehicle's ownership. (This is how the Lemon is in CA). You may check your state Lemon law! Your car is a Lemon from what I see in your video!!

      I think if circumstances were different I may have opted to try the ioniq 6 or waited for the EV9. The ID4 and Volvo C40 or XC40 have some pretty good incentives knocking their prices way way down even lower than ioniqs. I probably would have gone with whatever I could get the best deal on.
      The kicker here is our family grew and we are doing a bit of a shuffle with our cars. Ioniq 5 and our gas SUV are going, so I have to replace with something that can handle 6 people and luggage.
      Having already experienced the ioniq 5 I wanted to try something outside of Hyundai group. Plus I still have the GV60.
      I want to see more ioniq 6 on the road, seeing lots of 5s but no 6s so I vote the 6 :)

    On one occasion they repaired my climate compressor and had to remove the dashboard. After the repair the dashboard was scratched and they had to replace it. After they replaced it the wireless charger didn’t work. So they had to replace it as well.

    First I want to admit I am not an EV fan; however, I do own 2 Hyundai ICE vehicles and have had 2 long block engine replacements done by dealerships. I experienced the same back and forth between 1 of the dealerships and corporate and also got burned for part of cost of the rental vehicle I drove while they completed the engine replacement. The Ioniq 5 has had issues relating to minor damage to the skid pan protecting the battery requiring replacement of the entire battery pack. According to recent media reports here in Canada, there have been 2 Ioniq 5's written off by the insurance companies because Hyundai required the entire battery pack to be replaced in both cases at a cost of over $56,000 plus tax. The damage was incurred in everyday driving and in 1 case involved an impact with an object of the road.

The car has been great. I too have had issues in the past that were made worse at the dealership. These days I won't bring any car back to dealer for them to make matters worse. I brought mine in for the 15K service, cost me zero$, and I told them to leave the Bluelink off and only do the minimum service required to maintain my warranty. Like you, I would be upset with the time lost and the damage done! My last vehicle was a Grand Cherokee Summit with 5.7L Hemi. I loved it. Almost 190K mi and the only 100% proper service done was what I did myself. Dealership service always comes with headaches! I am always looking forward to the warranty running out so I can modify the car the way I want. But with all the tech in EV's I will have to see how it is holding up when I get closer to my 100,000mi warranty (upgraded to bumper to bumper coverage). Can't wait to see what you bought this time! Hope you and your family are happier with it! Best wishes!

To me, part of the benefit of buying new is having access to warranty service to fix issues.
