Kia/Hyundai killing it. Toyota better get their skates on; lot of catching up to do
It appears the battery is larger now? 77.4 to 84 kWh is there a new range estimate?
Uses 84.0 kWh 4th gen battery / From 77.4kWh to 84.0kWh / RWD: from 458km to 485km / 285mi to 301mi
This shows that Hyundai is really listening to feedback! The seatbelt, rear wiper, and the even the blacked out bezel are all things that people were really complaining about in the pre-refreshed model.
Tell me about it!
I disagree. I like the white bezel but then again my interior is white and I keep the screen on the white/light option.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is gorgeous!
What do you think about the N-Line?

Nicely done. Thank you for being FAST and not wasting our time with slow expectations as so many video bloggers do. We can always rewind a bit if needed. Well done.
I have so much to cover and talk about, like... always 🤣
Great updates , really like them all but the drawer glove box i'm gonna miss it though. Really love your content , it's remarkable it made me want to visit South Korea to see the beautiful streets shown in your POV drive tests❤
Wow, thanks. Korea is definitely unique of its own.
@@CarSceneKorea U R Welcome, Agreed 💯
Great job! Now everything is perfect in this car.
I always liked the Ioniq 5, but never considered it as my next car because of two things - the white bezel and the UI. And those have been corrected in this version, which has moved up the Ioniq 5 to the top of my list.
White bezel is gone as shown, not sure what bothered you with the UI, but it also is "changed" with ccNC.
Same here!
Great review as always. Love the new features, wish my 23 had them.
Still a great car, I wish I had the environment to own and operate an EV 🥲
Now the two-part instrument panel does look high-quality as a whole, when (the frame) changed to black (black color)!.
To Hyundai (👍🏼) for this change.
Good work.👏🏻
👍I mean, I did like that white bezel too, but gotta admit this black bezel makes it much flush and sleek.
This reminds me of the Hyundai Excel in Australia. My mum had the early version with the handbrake lever pushed through a cut in the carpet. A couple of years later mine had a nice centre console with power steering.
Really loving these little upgrades!!
Thanks for sharing! It also reminds me that Hyundai now has something to call history and legacy :)
Thank you for your future revealing videos I wonder for the 2025 USA Ioniq 5 if they will be finally getting a heat pump for the rear wheel drive and will those front air curtains be coming soon also?
Heat pump was available on all IONIQ 5 in Korea, those air curtain is under development, none of HMG cars have it yet.
05:55 What I also see new for the charging port is that they added a transparent filter on the side of the charging pixels which give light to the actual charging port. It's really useful to have the light illuminate the port if it's night-time.
Wow, on point! I sure do hope there's also an option of dimming the charging light for security reasons as I've heard from a few I5 owners.
@@CarSceneKorea
I covered the charge status lights with black tape, as they annoied my neighbour -and lit up my driveway by night ;)
The rear wiper looks so good, like the shape of it, same with the front wipers
nice report !! btw I love the white bezel on the dash (and prefer it over the black)
Looks fantastic!
manual preconditioning is an amazing feature... i wish they can update the current ones though..
Thanks again for the great presentation of the new model. I still have one question: Can you possibly point out the differences between the N-Line of the ioniq 5 and the ioniq 5 N?
There isn't one video focusing on that, but there are a number videos on each models on my channel.
IONIQ 5: Regular model
5 N: Looks like I5 on the outside - of course with some N looks - but completely a different high-performance EV
5 N-Line: Basically regular I5, but has 5 N looks to it :)
@@CarSceneKoreaThanks! 😊 Do you know whether adaptive dampers are also installed in the N-Line, as in the 5 N?
Great presentation. What is the towing capacity of the new model?
No official number on that unfortunately 🥲 Koreans aren't really big with towing stuff, it's hardly ever announced here in Korea, I normally hear it from Hyundai USA first.
That coffee brown interior is lovely.
🥰🥰
Any idea if the battery housing underneath has been reinforced? Here in Canada there’s been complaints about regular road debris destroying the battery pack on the ioniq 5.
Hit a small rock in an ioniq and it’s totaled.
No proven damage to battery unit, only small dent,,,,, it’s only dealer politics, that made all the fuzz !
Is the material in the door, the upper part, similar to the old ioniq5 or hard plastic like the ioniq 6?
I am not an IONIQ 5 owner, so wasn't able to tell right off the bat, but it did feel quite the same, using those up-cycled materials.
Great changes for the Ioniq 5! Is there any news on the upcoming KIA EV5, if it will have the same features? Any EV5 news at all?
Nothing official from Kia just yet. It will come with most of features shown on this model though.
Hi CarSceneKorea 😊
Maybe I missed it but is there a preconditionning battery button on the Ioniq5 PE like the Kona ev has ?
There's been the preconditioning on the first IONIQ 5, it works with the navigation system when you set the destination to be a charging station - at least here in Korea.
Yes, but that is not very comfy. Button is to prefer.
Thanks for the video! Do you know if the towing capacity has improved for the facelift model? Can you confirm that it will have the Tesla NACS plug for North America as standard in 2025?
More questions! Will this car come with bidirectional charging from the main (Tesla NACS) port for V2G/V2H?
Has the 12v battery drain issue been permanently solved?
No towing numbers by Hyundai yet, I am unaware of the Tesla part.
As for the charging, there is nothing mentioned other than it having the same charging speed despite the upgraded battery capacity.
Do you know if the Ioniq 5 will also get Matrix LED headlights ?
Nope.
Are there still plastic hooks for securing cargo in the boot, or have they gotten more sturdy?
Will check this next.
Let's hope that the heat pump will be significantly quieter. The original one is skrewing the otherwise low sound in winter. Guess we still lack some heating of the flat front to avoid snow and gravel rendering the systems obsolete. I hope that they also sorted out the bad safety belt guidance.
Do you know if North American models are going to get the NACS (Tesla) charging plug?
I have no idea about that.
23 Ioniq 5 SEL owner here. The console switches are welcome, but why at the back rather than the front where they would be easier to see and reach?
Could be because of the wiring⁉My votes goes to the front as well :)
Bjrs hi
Sorry in french
Merci pour ta présentation très intéressante
Tx
Merci beaucoup d'avoir regardé malgré les sous-titres !
Does the Ioniq 5 come with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto? Also when can we expect the car outside of Korea? Great review btw, can't wait for it to be released in Singapore!!
Yes
Yes
Is the Googles Android Auto now fully integrated, so the upcoming AI functions will be available even if it is wirelessly connected to the car?
I wasn't able to check it out myself, but since it comes with ccNC, it should have wireless Andriod Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Will test it and find out during the test drive!
Hello Bro. Thnak you for making these videos for us.I wanna buy a model ioniq 5 advance series has the standart range 58 kwh 2024 version made for Turkey.I hope these changes would be on my new ioniq 5 advance model.I am so excited now after watching this video.Thank you again and waiting new videos from you bro... Good luck for your youtube channel...
Glad you like it! 👍 Thanks for the comment 🇹🇷
Will the USA version get the NACS charge port?
I'd have to toss that question to Hyundai USA 🥲
Are there massage chairs in the new Ioniq 5 or in the Ioniq 5 n-line
Nope, just relaxation mode.
Your wife looks gorgeous in her wedding dress. 😊
And are there any new colours? I saw a new red but what about a more vibrant blue?
Is the Ioniq 6 gonna get that updated infotainment look? or is it just for the new Ioniq 5?
Most likely!
Can you tell me when the new ionic 5 2025 will be available in the UK?
It typically takes about six months to reach other parts of the globe 🥲
Do you know if the Ioniq 5 PE has a pet mode? Thank you.
Will check on my test drive.
@@CarSceneKorea thank you
I can’t find your review on the Kona EV N line for some reason.
Working on the edit now, it was supposed to be the first one, but got delayed due to these IONIQ 5 vids, sry!
@@CarSceneKorea it’s ok, its worth the wait. I see it up now.
Is there any changing for Kia EV6?
Should see quite the similar update as we see with I5.
Really love the way you say Car Scene Korea because it sounds like you are saying Cars in Korea.
Unless I also "pronounce" with spaces, think they sound pretty similar.
Best I can do given English isn't my mother tongue 😅
Is there going to be a Standard Range version? 58kwh Battery?
Wasn't able to get that info yet.
You didn't mention Wireless Android Auto which would be huge so I'm assuming it's still missing?
You forgot to mention the wireless CarPlay, which you covered in your previous video. One remaining item on my wish list is adaptive headlights.
I tried focusing on what's directly visible to our eyes on this video. Wireless AA & CarPlay is now available with every car that has ccNC. This IONIQ 5 PE also gets IFS, although it's not the smoothes adaptive headlights that HMG could offer, it's here! I believe it'd be similar to that of Tucson facelift Hyundai gave us, you can check out the glimpse of how the IFS ought to be like here:
Night Test Driving 2025 Hyundai Tucson Facelift - Intelligent Front Light System (IFS)
th-cam.com/video/0OxL3_mrSFg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Ef17bBa_aQMGXlb1
Ahh, yes, you said visible changes, sorry! Will check out the other video, thanks! Do you know if the U.S. model will get NACS on this PE model? Also waiting for better colors than the existing ones, too. Love your videos. Just discovered them via a recommendation from the Ioniq Guy here in the U.S. @@CarSceneKorea
Glad you found me, welcome to the channel :) I'm just a guy in Korea reviewing newly released Korean spec HMG cars. Even if I have any inside intel, I never share it for I only want to focus on delivering what's "real." Not a big fan of spyshots, guesses, rumors, etc. So back to your question, answer to NACS would be up to Hyundai USA 🥲 There is the Ultimate Red Metallic, which is N-Line exclusive though.
Thanks! I was disappointed to hear the Ultimate Red will only be for the N line -- which I do not want. I currently have a red Santa Fe and a red Sonata, so was hoping for a red Ioniq 5 later this year. ☹@@CarSceneKorea
Are there heating, ventilation/cooling in the seats?
It will depend on your trim and region but the highest trims will have heating on 4 seats and cooling in the front row. I think every trim gets front row heating
Yes, with physical buttons on the Universal Island now! 3:24
@@ShadowHolder748 Thanks for sharing :)
Been researching Ioniq 5 recently as it is so attractive. However, came across major reliability issues re: loss of power and even shutdown due to ICCU software. Is this an issue with 2025 model?
The car isn't being delivered yet, so the answer would be no. ICCU is currently undergoing recalls here in Korea, hope that'd solve the issue.
Is there still a 20" and 19" wheel version?
It looks like so far we've seen only the new 20" wheel - could you please look out for 19" if there is one?
There are 19s available, there's none on the display atm it seems like.
20” is the way to go,,,it handles better, and I don’t care about range and efficiency loss ;)
@@steffenjensen9350I prefer the look of 19", and the thicker tire profile is also much nicer on our broken city potholes
Whats about the ICCU Issue, the current Ioniq 5 models have....? Is this issue fixed now with an enhanced ICCU Unit?
I'm just a TH-camr reviewing new cars, sorry can't be much of help on that one.
@@CarSceneKorea ok, but thank you for the nice review of the new facts about the Facelift, well done
By the way, 4 days ago, my ICCU Unit failed also.....🙂....only DC Charging is still possible, AC is broken ;-) Thats the reason, why I asked you the question last month. There is a real issue with this Unit on that platform and maybe you have contacts to or could ask the Hyundai people, if the ICCU has become a major update on that.
@@CarSceneKorea merci
Love the Ioniq 5, I would buy it if a diesel version comes.
Have they updated the USB ports to USB C? It's nice it has wireless charging, but that is problematic in hot climates like the one I live in.
Yep, all changed to type-C indeed.
Thanks. Range 480 km for AWD?
AWD for 450
No official number from Hyundai yet, but given the battery upgrade, it'd be somewhere around +10% increase.
Has the IONIQ5N Matrix LED?
Nope.
What’s the size of the new wheels?
255 / 45 / 20 You can see detailed shot here:
th-cam.com/video/X5K8Ls9QJJ4/w-d-xo.html
What is "Carwash Mode" (7:31)? Any idea?
It was there on latest HMG cars for now, it folds the side mirrors, it shuts all the windows, keeps the flush door handle inside, etc. Getting ready for a perfect car wash mode per se.
@CarSceneKorea My new wish list for Hyundai/ Genesis / HMG:
1) add more custom settings vs default for the reversing camera /360 camera ( 1 press vs double press)...
2) And copy the VERY FANCY camera trickery that Toyota does that allows you to see the terrain under the car ("Panaromic View Monitor" - the front cameras come on when you slow down to a stop, starts painting the road surface under the car for EXACT PRECISE TIRE PLACEMENT).
3) use Genesis gv60 toggle buttons for cabin temperature adjustment
- i am not a guy that falls for aesthetics but the hvac controls are beautiful in the Genesis,
- the auto buttons AND RE-CIRCULATE BUTTONS are close together- Yay.
4) I disliked the fan up Fan down buttons getting separate discrete buttons as well, could be a toggle as well,
- but other ppl will start complaining if things start looking asymmetrical.
- So i don't have a solution for that.
5) if you're gonna do the 3 spoke wheel just bring the bottom rim of the steering wheel TOWARDS the driver hands ( eccentric shape )
6) add a second sport key (like Volvo did a while back - it's waterproof, no buttons) measures 5.5x2.5x0.8 cm
- I can rely on it even if my phone / watch battery goes dead
- flat enough to be in a tiny zipper compartment of my wallet.
Food for thought, hope Hyundai would read your comment :)
Does it come with wireless apple carplay?
Gets the ccNC hence yes :)
Yes
As far as I see, it also has the new gauges like the GN7, which are very cool.
Yep, ccNC 6:26
What’s the WLTP range of 5 N?
450 km or 280 miles.
Danke für die tolle Beschreibung 😊und herzliche Grüße aus Deutschland 🇩🇪 Markus
Danke fürs Zuschauen aus Deutschland 🇩🇪 DK
I am not very sure on the digital side view mirrors yet
Seems to be inevitable at one point given automakers are trying very hard to lower every digit of that Cd possible. Apparently those mirrors take up A LOT!
@@CarSceneKorea
Yes and still they mount wider low profile tyres -
It’s more of a marketing stunt ;)
@@steffenjensen9350 Large wheels do play a key role when it comes to customers choosing their cars, so I do get the reason behind them doing it. I usually like 18s and 19s on family cars :)
When do you guess that it will be available in Europe? Will Hyundai keep the price or increase it?
It typically takes about six months to reach other parts of the globe 🥲Korean price remains the same, so fingers crossed! 🤞
Thanks!
It looks great. The improvements I'm looking for are range ⬆ and price ⬇
Assuming I am able to have a heat pump and Android Auto in the US I fully plan on buying this as my first new car. I have only ever purchased used in my life.
It will be a great choice and you will love it!
@@CarSceneKorea I almost purchased the 2024 but stayed away because I wanted native NACS support.
Do you have any opinions on 2WD vs AWD. I have only owned AWD the past 15 years but the additional miles from 2WD has me considering that as an option.
Any new colours?
Ultimate Red Metallic (N-Line exclusive) is the only exterior, a few interior combinations.
simply astounding where Hyundai is in 2024 . long gone are the days of the cheap korean car to now bei4an industry leader .Also i love the graphic animations you use during your presentation very skick editing
Thanks for the comment! We sure are living in the era of modern automotive at its finest :)
Have they improved the efficiency of the car?
Will find out on the test drive!
Will it come to EU?
Sure thing.
Should I take the ioniq 5 2025 or the Genesis GV60?
Same price? I'd go with GV60 if the space isn't much of an issue for you.
@@CarSceneKorea I mean, when I look at your current videos on the ioniq 5 and see the changes, such as the larger battery, then I wonder if and when some of these improvements will come to the GV60. If there aren't any planned for the GV60 in March or by the summer, I would find the ioniq 5 more interesting at the moment. What do you think?
@@knupificationGenesis being the luxury brand, it's quite different from Hyundai. Also, GV60 isn't quite the same category as I5 as you probably know. GV60 PE or facelift is also just around the corner. Unless you absolutely like GV60 a lot, this I5 PE is clearly an upgrade from all latest EVs from HMG out there right at the moment. But it's GV60 for me given it's Genesis and GV60 has plenty of things that I need/look for in an EV already.
What was wrong with the original glove box drawer design of ionic 5?
Nothing, I liked it. Just stating that it's gone 😭
@@CarSceneKorea We never got the drawer type in NA version to begin with.
I own a Model Y and feel that the position of its backup camera is not ideal. I think having the camera positioned higher, like in the IONIQ 5, would provide a clearer rear view.
Indeed..!
Would be interesting to see comparing with rivian r3
The more the competition, the better it is for us customers :)
It's much larger than the r3 which is about the same length as a Ford fiesta. 👍🏻
@@4literv6 thanks. Good to know. Then, the next question would be how about r2 vs ioniq5.

So not only no NACS port, but the port is still on the wrong side. I also take it this is still E-GMP and not the new IMA platform? So it still has the very poor 400v of not more than 97kw.
E-GMP is capable of 800V with corresponding charger, works just fine in Korea with E-pit.
@@CarSceneKorea That wasn't the question or the point. Unless it's not coming to America.
In North America, the vast majority of chargers are Tesla Superchargers 400v V3's with short cables and the biggest negative keeping Ioniq 5's sales back are it's poor charging on V3's of only 97kw. And with the port on the wrong side, it has to take up 2 pots. If that hasn't been fixed on the new models, that will keep holding its sales down.
So when is Kia going to fix those 2 major issues?
THAT EV9 IS BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL 😍 EV6 IS BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL TO THE IONIQ 5 PV IS BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO BE ❤❤❤
BEAUTIFUL❤❤❤
Your videos ❤
Your comment 😍
I want this car, it is perfek
If the service was better perhaps a option.
But they still lack it.
I watch all your shows. Any word on IONIQ 7, or any other ioniq’s?
KIA has already come up with EV9 and EV5. Why is Hyundai so slow?
Hyundai is undergoing road test with IONIQ 9 - previously considered to be IONIQ 7 - in Korea, you will hear about it more soon.
Was there any news about the Ioniq 6 N line or the N version?
Nothing official, but we know the PE is just around the corner for IONIQ 6 too!
I wish we could get those camera side mirrors in America.
Sure do hope so!
Hmmm, I really hate them,,,, absolute unnessary feature ;)
Not legal in the USA
how much is it to replace the battery cover... lol $60k enjoy
I hope it will not suddenly speed up or stop😬 even many Korean doesn't believe and hate hyundai so how can i decide to buy?
Way too much generalization in a sentence 😉
Love it but EVs need to continue to improve range we need 350-400 options especially people who drive in the winter since winter range drops 30-50%
Will soon see that with next gen eM platform, hopefully.
Hyundai kia genesis get better in terms of engineering reliability build quality the best cars in the world 🌎 by far better than German cars by far love the channel keep up the good work kev from the United Kingdom I have a kia proceed gt line take care look forward to more videos 📹
Thanks Kev 🇬🇧
I love the "updated" color interior (brownish) at least viewing it from a North American perspective.
On point as always 👍
Why hyundai can not learn about BYD LFP or blade battery for cheaper, longer cycle and attainable price? I estimate, if hyundai insist to be with NMC battery means waiting for dead. Tesla has gone to byd battery for their cheaper and reliable car
Wireless Android Auto ??
Yep, available with every car that has ccNC.
Very nice but digital mirrors are absolutely a terrible idea.
The conventional ones will always be there, at least for now.
Nice "improvements." To be honest, however, it does NOT give me "buyer's remorse" with my 2024 model. My digital rear view camera more than compensates for the lack of a rear window wiper. And I MUCH prefer my center console: one of my pet peeves in cars are front-to-back cup holders. The 10.6 extra kWh in the battery will give a welcome boost to range, but I consider most of the other changes simply "bells-and-whistles."
IONIQ 5 came out near perfect I'd say hence this comment. The best part about this PE is that Hyundai kept the price same! :) Envy your I5, wish I could be in the environment to own an EV.
음... 잘보고 가겠습니다
시청해주셔서 감사합니다!
Get one if you want your car to be totalled and charged $60k from your insurance when even the battery cover is damaged. Hyundai is the best for that.
Thanks for the info!
I keep the 2021 version.
If it was petrol powered I’d have one but it’s an EV, so I don’t.
1 reason why you dont want one ioniq 5
in canadan it is a 3 years wait cuz a lot buy them with the 12 k$ incentive from gov and then resel the car to dealer and buy used gas car insted and take back all the money since a near new ionicq 5 with 100 km second hand is not eligible to incentive (12
k ca$) and the price is still high at 50 k CAD$ for a near new but second hand.
So nice arnack!
Purchasing an EV is a bit different to ICE here in Korea as well.
👍👍👍👍👍
Is it still piss easy to steal?
