5:04 I needed to hear this. I started last week, and the first day I did 15 minutes of non continuous jumprope. The next day I could barely do two minutes before I was completely out of breath. Day three, and my calves hurt ferociously, but so too did my lower back, I left the jumprope alone. Day four I tried again, but by the fifth jump my back hurt far too much to continue. I want to get more fit, but I also need to listen to what my body is saying.
I get you. I started doing it for 3 or 5 minutes and then rest for a minute then doing it for 20 minutes the first month and actually it worked for me. ✌️ maybe you should start slowly.
Number 5 was me for about a year or two. Tried so hard to get into jump rope and kept battling pain in my left ankle. Taken it much slower this time around and it’s been good so far!
We're the same! I've tried so hard at first because I'm too excited to get into jump ropes. May I know what did you do to lessen the pain on yout ankle? I got a pain in my shin due to jump rope.
Live in the Uk doing 100 skips every day in June for Cancer Research you channel has helped me improve my style and at 64 been a long time since I skipped
No joke! Skipping rope is "the thing" and I be "doing" it. I've got the "get fit" and "get strong" crossrope. I enjoy pyramid workouts using the 1/4lb ×300skips, then a bodyweight exercise, 1/2lb ×200, bw exercise, 1lb ×100, bw exercise, 2lb ×50, bw exercise, and finish each set with a 1 arm farmer walk with a kettle bell. 4× sets of that and I'm good. Usually takes about 45 min. Thanks Jump Rope Dudes!!!! I'm 41 years old and have visible abs for the first time in my life!!!!! Hooray!!!
Great video as always! I started doing the thing about a year ago. Took me a long time to work up to where I was in august. Then, I broke my wrist. After the first couple weeks, I jumped without a rope. By the time I was ready to start twirling a rope again with my wrist, I felt I hadn't lost too much. Fantastic exercise for anyone, any fitness level.
I always do jumprope everyday.. idk it seems addictive. it's like I did not have my workout proper with no jumprope. also that's my cardio only since I stay in house.. so after listening to this, I think twice now. tssk tssk tssk. it may bad
I agree, I started jump rope last week, it became an addiction 🥲. Like, I want to jump rope mostly everytime I can. Today I jumped rope for almost an hour 🤣, but I tried to keep a good amount of rest between my sets.
I got very injured bc of that… i mean, I’ve spent years jumping almost everyday and I have an uretrocele bc of that, and some lessions on my legs… just take care of you 🫠🫠
I started jump roping again on June 2nd, since childhood. I bought a new rope that’s adjustable. But I struggle in the beginning and keep watching these videos, learn something new each time. I’m still not as good as the guys in the videos. But I did get up 90 jumps over time in between the rope hitting my shoes.😣 I think I did decent since I’m in my sixties. But I do wish I can get as smooth as the JRD’s and everyone else In the videos. I take breaks jumping every few days to rest my body.😊
My first time watching a video about jumping rope and surprisingly I got it all right. All from number 1 to 5. Also, I do it right as you advise. I do it every other day (Mon, Wed, Fri). I usually jogging 30 minutes then followed by jumping rope for 2-3 minutes (I'm really new to this exercise so I'd like to take it slow day by day as I gain endurance also I found joy in jumping rope). Thanks for this video, I am more confident now in jumping rope.
Hi, the tips are great. I have started in a few weeks and as you said I injured myself by doing wrong and too much pressure:( but after I saw you video I managed to you it and still feeling comfortable. Thank you.
Not me 3 days ago starting and doing a 30 minutes jump rope workout as my first introduction to the thing. Figure as an athlete even after a period of let's call it "relax" I would easily do it. I can't even walk right now, I'm stretching and trying to make the pain go away but I fear it'll be a long one to resolve. I should've definitely known better but here we are. Do not do this.
I just started doing "jump ropes" yesterday . I was facing the same problem(s). But you tube recommended this video. Today I will try to follow your instructions.
You've come to the right place! Welcome and let me know if you have any questions! Here's a good place to start: th-cam.com/video/kDOGb9C5kp0/w-d-xo.html&pp=gAQBiAQB Keep doing the thing!
The too much too soon really hits. There are some of us including me and maybe a lot that wanna do 30 mins straight away. But if you literally just begin take it step by step. After all this is a lifetime progress.
Yes ... I have to tell myself to start easy. I always get pains from working out and I am the heaviest now I've ever been. Been working out regularly the last month focusing on doing every movement right. I do still get a lower back pain sometimes but at least it's much better than it has been. Anyway, you got this :) Best of luck
Hello! Do you recommend starting with 3 minutes for example and increasing the time by 1 minute or 30 seconds everyday? Or do I have to progress much slower
I find myself usually learning jump rope on my living room carpet, and in hotel room carpets, when I'm taking passengers to varias locations for a few, or several days; ( I drive buses for a charter company ) I have used your matts on my rug, but they tend to move while I'm jumping rope. Does jumping rope on carpet rugs impede my progression in mastering jump rope? My kitchen is too small, and so are the tiled floor aresa in the hotel rooms!
Nope not at all, you can absolutely jump on a carpet. It will cause a bit of a drag just due to the rope hitting a rougher surface, but if you're ok with it - -go for it!
Hello, thanks for your video. Can you tell me where I can find the tutorial for alternate footsteps, please. Regular bounce is mastered but I cannot find alternate footseps in your playlists. Cheers form France
I started doing boxing, the first thing I was given was a rope and asked if I can jump rope. I was like HELL YEAH I CAN. Jump rope dudes taught me. MMA athletes are amazing at jumping rope and I’ve come across it at Muay Thai and general varios sessions in a group fitness class too. It’s a great skill to learn and you can do it anywhere.
Hey dudes! So, I love jump roping, obviously, and while I don't profess to being as good as you guys, I like to think I'm okay. I really want to find ways to get my local community involved. To be honest, yes, I also would like to make money jump roping-but just being able to put something cool on my resume would also be great! What are some of the best ways to do this? Happy Thanksgiving yo! :)
Hey Dan it''s Sam, I was wondering? how can I rotate my wrists and not use my arms, can you tell me where to look up in you tube how to use wrists, when jumping rope please ?
I definitely did too much too soon, went from a mostly sedentary lifestyle to doing jump rope 30 mins a day sometimes even 50 mins, 6 days a week. Now my left ankle is so sore that it feels sprained after each workout and at night time and my left achilles is really sore too. So I've had a rest day today and might even have one tomorrow. Feeling guilty about it but I know if I don't rest I'll really damage myself. And when I do restart jump rope I'll do 20 mins 4 times a week instead.
I have a genuine question. I've recently started doing jump ropes and surprisingly, I was able to do it but... as I was looking thru the "beginners guide" on jump ropes, I noticed that in every video, the rope goes forward and then the person jumps... I on the other hand, is the opposite. The rope goes from behind then I jump to it. My question now is... is the way I'm doing the jump part in doing jump ropes wrong?
Just wondering, right now I’m doing around 3 minutes a day (like 4-5 days in). Should I still take rest days? I’m not really in pain after an hour or two of finishing.
I think you're fine to skip multiple days in a row because it's short sessions! Might i suggest upping to 5 minutes a day and see how it feels? Do the thing!
Hi Guys - Craig from the UK Just starting out and over the past few weeks I think I've done all these mistakes!! Loving the vids, on the beginners 7 day challenge. Great stuff ☺️💲
I need help. I have been jumping rope for awhile now and I have lost over 30 pounds using the heavier ropes. However my form is terrible and I can only do regular bounce.
Hey man this should help with the nutrition: th-cam.com/video/xBQjFCGubNo/w-d-xo.html as far as exercise, watch this: th-cam.com/video/iI1F14fYS68/w-d-xo.html Hope it helps!
I am the beginner, i have just started but i am not able to jump with both legs at a time. Without ropes i can do the same motion easily but as soon as i try to jump through the ropes i see myself keeping with only one leg and it feels not perfect. Can you suggest the jump technique for the beginner because i dont feel confident while jumping with both the legs
check out our beginner playlists: www.youtube.com/@JumpRopeDudes/playlists Lots of great resources for you to employ while practicing (which is the only way).
I test the length first by bringing my ankles up and then swinging it gently and if it doesn’t go beneath my feet it is to short and if it stop before it’s to long
I had such a crazy busy day in work on a 12 hour shift so I just wanted to do a light-ish workout and this was perfect. Thanks again for another great spin. 🚴🏻😊x
So I love your CrossRope I have the 1/4lb and the 1/2 lb and have the correct size thanks to ya'lls chart on the website. I do have an issue though since I am SUPER new "haven't jumped since high school and not saying how long that's been lol!" so I consider myself a newbie. I can jump about 30 secs at a time and then my feet cramp up really bad!! I do the stretches you recommended is there anything else I can do to prevent this from happening as it hurts really bad. I want to jump and lose weight and get healthier. I have good shoes btw. Thanks and love your channel.
Start with that baseline and work your way up. Think of your foot like any other muscle that needs to be worked! Endurance and strength will come with time. Stick with 20-30 sec intervals and work your way up and your foot strength builds!
You are amazing!!!!! I am laughing with pleasure how smart conversation you are creating 🤗💖😉🤗💥🚀 You even predict my follow up question-- that is great!!!! I was looking for some mat The Rope is on its way Looked through the challenge you, guys created Have to see about those “damsels in distress” hahahahaha dumbbells-- I have few bottles 😃😆😇😂🤣😅🧚♀️💥🚀 See you
I completed three months journey last month and loose 5 kg also but after that I stopped jumping rope. now I again start and it's my 14 or 15th day and I am facing a lot of pain in my legs and toes muscles. I am not doing very intense workout, I just do 25 to 35 min basic jump daily and take enough breaks also. I want to know, is there any other way to cure this pain to remain consistent in this journey?
Hey dudes, Last year I had lost nearly 10 kgs by doing jump rope, I could easily do 2500 to 3000 skips daily. But I had some exams so I had stopped it and now when I have started it again I am getting pain in lower right abdomen everytime. I even checked with the doctor and he did some tests and said it could be some muscle pain it may go in a few weeks but 3 months have passed but I still get pain when I jump
The rope you´re using to show length, is easily adjusted, however the Get Lean-set, not so much:( I do use the green rope with a knot (and I don´t like to knot an expensive rope like that) The white rope I just hardly ever use, which is to bad. Now there´s other brands that offers the click-on system AND a way to adjust the rope, I hope CR Will do that pretty soon.

Have you tried doing maybe 7sets of 2mins with 35sec rest in-between sets? 14mins :)
I understand exactly how you feel!

Thanks for the tips... may I please have the link for that jump rope mat?
when beginning, can you do something different ont he rest days? i want to start this, and im riding my bicycle also and can i alternate ?
For sure, also walking or swimming are great low-impact exercises for rest days.
I started jumping rope recently. It's so much fun!! I can do the boxer skip and the shuffle and and crossover 😄😄
I find myself usually learning jump rope on my living room carpet, and in hotel room carpets, when I'm taking passengers to varias locations for a few, or several days; ( I drive buses for a charter company ) I have used your matts on my rug, but they tend to move while I'm jumping rope. Yh I noticed the elbow thing when I started, so to fix that I would make sure that the rope would always keep hitting the floor

Hi Guys - Craig from the UK
Just starting out and over the past few weeks I think I've done all these mistakes!!
Loving the vids, on the beginners 7 day challenge.
Great stuff ☺️💲
The 4th mistake is SOO me!! Just bought myself a jumping rope, hope I'll improve ✨
I need help. I have been jumping rope for awhile now and I have lost over 30 pounds using the heavier ropes. However my form is terrible and I can only do regular bounce.
Hey bro i have chest fat and i want to lose it, what food should i need to eat and how many minutes or hours should i jump rope and exercise?

I test the length first by bringing my ankles up and then swinging it gently and if it doesn’t go beneath my feet it is to short and if it stop before it’s to long
I jumprope just in socks on a mat what’s your thoughts on that thanks
that's cool! (if your feet are strong enough!)
Love the demos ❤
It´s alway a good thing remember this!! Thank you JRD!!
Wwoww...I really like the way you make the mistakes on purpose to demonstrate which is really commendable ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think it's very entertaining when they do that. I laugh out loud sometimes.
Hello
Super helpful ❤🎉
Glad you think so
my rope was way too long and i kept hitting my arms and leaving marks 😂, thank you for this video!!
I have a question are weighted handles good? Are they as good as weighted rope or they are not good at all.
We definitely prefer weighted ropes - check out our favorites here: crossrope.com/jrd6s
I had such a crazy busy day in work on a 12 hour shift so I just wanted to do a light-ish workout and this was perfect. Thanks again for another great spin. 🚴🏻😊x
Hello
@@MohammadAli-vx2bg gag.
How do you have the energy to jump rope after such a day!
You are amazing!!!!! I am laughing with pleasure how smart conversation you are creating 🤗💖😉🤗💥🚀
You even predict my follow up question-- that is great!!!!
I was looking for some mat
The Rope is on its way
Looked through the challenge you, guys created
Have to see about those “damsels in distress” hahahahaha dumbbells-- I have few bottles 😃😆😇😂🤣😅🧚♀️💥🚀
See you
Awesome, I am so glad you enjoyed it! Keep skipping rope and do the thing!
I’ve just started out thanks for the tips
I completed three months journey last month and loose 5 kg also but after that I stopped jumping rope.
now I again start and it's my 14 or 15th day and I am facing a lot of pain in my legs and toes muscles. I am not doing very intense workout, I just do 25 to 35 min basic jump daily and take enough breaks also. I want to know, is there any other way to cure this pain to remain consistent in this journey?
Thanks dear 💕 for great information
Infomercial montage is on point :D
Thank you cuz I had trouble at tha gym an hour ago.
Is it okay if the size of my rope is at my upper chest?
I think i laughed more from the demonstrations than i learned
Which model rope
Epic fails .. literally cracking me up !! 😅🤣 Thanks so much !
Great suggestions for beginners
thank you
Hey dudes,
Last year I had lost nearly 10 kgs by doing jump rope, I could easily do 2500 to 3000 skips daily. But I had some exams so I had stopped it and now when I have started it again I am getting pain in lower right abdomen everytime. I even checked with the doctor and he did some tests and said it could be some muscle pain it may go in a few weeks but 3 months have passed but I still get pain when I jump
Thank you man so much
The rope you´re using to show length, is easily adjusted, however the Get Lean-set, not so much:( I do use the green rope with a knot (and I don´t like to knot an expensive rope like that) The white rope I just hardly ever use, which is to bad. Now there´s other brands that offers the click-on system AND a way to adjust the rope, I hope CR Will do that pretty soon.
the "using arms too much" part is a comedy sketch 😂😂
Thank you!
Which rope using
