Thanks everyone for watching and all the kind words and support! If you want to see how I'm progressing with jump rope, I recently made a video where I learned one of Floyd Mayweather's Jump Rope routines! One of the hardest things I've ever done, but you can watch it here: th-cam.com/video/Uyk-0tjkbD8/w-d-xo.html
I'm 70 years old and started jumping a few months ago. I don't do the endurance jumping but rather do sets of jumping and relaxing to create a high intensity interval training. I feel fantastic and my body craves the workouts which I do every other day. Body fat is at 13% and my leg muscles are ripped. I want to get into weighted rope soon. Loved this video!!
I used to box and naturally jumping rope was always a part of the workout routines. Honestly, there were days when jumping rope was harder than sparring. But when your body is rested and recovered, you can go into a zone that is indescribable. I love jumping and this video has motivated me to get back into it. Thank you.
Jumping rope is definitely my favorite exercise. I typically do 1 minute with 20 seconds of rest, and repeat that 29 times for a total of 30. I used to jump 30 minutes straight, but that got too hard on my feet. That 20 seconds of rest is great for my feet.
I just bought my first speed rope wanting to start my own fitness journey, and then came across your video. I gotta say, your positive attitude is amazing and just inspiring! :) Much love to you guys!
Before lockdown I remember seeing a guy at the gym jumping rope and thinking to myself: "I bet that is more difficult then when I was a kid", come lockdown I take it up and yes, it was WAY more difficult, but that is part of the appeal, the satisfaction as you get better is immense. I remember my first 100, my first complete song, working on cross-overs etc. 19 months later I am still loving it and it's still a core part of my workout. Great video, and well done on progress, mastering those tricks and footwork in 30 days is very impressive!! 👍
Dude, I had the exact same experience as you. Do you also take videos of yourself jumping to try to get the perfect footage of a pro jumper? If your answer is no, then neither do I 🤣
@@Chez114 I did actually take some video, I noticed that I was driving more with one hand, tried to correct it a bit and then... Stopped worrying and got on with enjoying the cardio instead. I am never going to be 'a natural' but I do enjoy it 😀

I started skipping rope for just 10 minutes, at first I was tripping, I didn't have good form. After some days, I built some resistance and I could skip rope for 15 and 20 minutes. My legs became much stronger and I was able to do some tricks after around two months. I recommend having some rest days and also stretching before and after. As you get good, it's a fun exercise.

I would love to see a video on the impact of isometric exercises on strength. Since Brendan works out a lot with weights, it would be interesting to see you measure your PR for a few different lifts before doing 30 days of only isometrics and what it looks like afterwards. Thank you so much for this video! You have given me so much inspiration to do a 30day jump robe challenge. I am currently on day 5 and oh my gosh, I’m having so much fun. I’m improving everyday on technique and learning new moves. Thanks again❤️
My go to cardio is jump rope. It's the best. It is hard at first but as long as you build yourself up incrementally over time you'll be smashing it very quickly. I use the same speed rope and its awesome. Always stretch out before and after, particularly calf muscles. Can't emphasize this enough. It makes a huge difference. I use a tabata timer app which as a beginner was 30 seconds jumping, 15 seconds rest. That built me up to where I now do 3.5min sprints with the rope combined with other HIIT routines and core work melded into a 1hr workout. Jump rope is always the foundation to keeping my heart rate high in between every set. Have never felt so fit and I don't have to leave my house!
Yes. It’s important to temper your enthusiasm and take it in small increments. I learned to stop and stretch after the first 20 skips, then after the next 20, three or four times. Your strength grows during rests, not during challenges, and you don’t get ahead by trying to do too much too soon.
I lost 9 kg in 3 months just by having a strict diet and jumping rope as my exercise everyday, with 1 cheating day each week. Well, I didnt exactly count my workout time per day, but as long as I get 1000 jumps, i'm free to stop 😂 I once in awhile add 500 or another 1000 if I've been in a difficult time or in a mood swing phase. The most important lesson that I've learned throughout the whole process is that an emotional distress could become an unexpected powerful boost during workout and I love it 😂
When I first started with the Crossropes, I looked like someone had put to the whipping post. My legs and arms looked awful, but the worst was when I whipped my back. Sweat soaked t-shirt and that 1/4lb rope whipped me from shoulder to hip across my back. Wow! That hurt! When I started going up through the heavier ropes, I didn’t get whipped as much but my finger looked just like yours. But now, 3 years later, I’m pretty good with them. Good work!
To help those that are still NOT sure even though this is G-d's true method to health and weight lose you DO NOT, repeat do NOT need a jump rope to jump rope.. Crazy right? You will lose a bit of wrist workout and not the best connection between legs to arm But the calorie count is still there.. I travel globally, and do 30 minutes a day with no rope have been for 4 months....SERIOUSLY shows too... Don't delay waiting for your amazon package just start doing it now My personal fav is the Mayweather skip, i can do it 30 minutes strait at this point and no pain or issues
My kickboxing teacher recommended I try jumping rope as a warmup. I gave it a try and woah, it was so much fun! Lovely video that inspires me to jump rope even more!

I love jumping with the weighted ropes because you build muscle while shedding fat. The speed rope is great for foot work. Jump roping helped me play better in wallball. It’s perfect for speed and raw power! Love this video!

This is great! I've been jumping quite a bit as well lately, but I've never used an actual quality rope. Finally ordered one, and am waiting for its arrival!! 💪💪
Good challenge and good video. Would've been nice if you shown your recovery routine in more detail. I'm actually surprised you didn't suffer any sort of leg pain (i.e. knee/ankle pain, shin splints etc), from day one through to day 30.
I jump rope 6x a week for 41 minutes straight… and it is great cardio but the hard truth is, that your feet and calfs hurt as hell… so you really need to take a break sometimes to rest your feet and calfs

Jump rope dudes channel is insane.
The most important lesson that I've learned throughout the whole process is that an emotional distress could become an unexpected powerful boost during workout and I love it 😂
I love the 'just by having a strict diet' part 😁
I think i do 1000 1200 in 10 to 13 minutes and sometimes i still got some energy left 30minutes seems challenging
Whats your diet?
@@flxalmarezjr I changed my daily rice intake with oatmeal and potato. Sometimes I ate it with soup, a chicken and mostly eith boiled egg.
@@deezyboss3135 Waw thats fast! Whats your secret!
Good work!
The JumpRope dudes in the video!! Amazing!!
Good dudes!!
To help those that are still NOT sure even though this is G-d's true method to health and weight lose
you DO NOT, repeat do NOT need a jump rope to jump rope..
Crazy right? You will lose a bit of wrist workout and not the best connection between legs to arm
But the calorie count is still there..
I travel globally, and do 30 minutes a day with no rope have been for 4 months....SERIOUSLY shows too...
Don't delay waiting for your amazon package just start doing it now
My personal fav is the Mayweather skip, i can do it 30 minutes strait at this point and no pain or issues
Jump rope might be the most fun form of exercise out there. Who else loved jump rope in gym class?
7:38 That montage is killer good 🎉❤
Props to the camera person and the editor 🤠
Good video. Nice footage, story, and narration. Plus training montage. Everything is better with a training montage.
I did a 30 day - 1000 jump challenge last year, but it is highly recommended to get some rest days in to prevent injury
True Story
Yup this is can’t be closer to the truth. I have shin splits galore and I recommend you do it every other 2 days.
@@lamp7746 exactlyy broo me too
@@tresk1793 it sucks man
Dude ... what an awesome journey. Thanks so much.
What a ride! By the end I was cheering out loud. Happy to have found your channel - subscribed😊
11:44 stops skipping: "oh my gosh" and has a fresh T-shirt on.
My kickboxing teacher recommended I try jumping rope as a warmup. I gave it a try and woah, it was so much fun! Lovely video that inspires me to jump rope even more!
It reminds me of when I set goals on the treadmill. Once I’ve accomplished that goal it becomes so much easier almost like I’m not in my head because of my need to meet a goal
Just did my first 1k jump ropes today. The feeling after is tremendously worth it ⭐️
Looks like you are ready to join the Jump Rope Dudes gang! Great job!!!
I started this challenge not too long ago and if I get 2 likes I will be updating my results on this comment here

for context I am 16 5'9 and 150 lbs when starting the challenge
How did it go?
You have gained a subscriber. Top quality crazy footage and awesome motivation. Thanks man you inspired me to try this challenge. Keep it up
I really enjoyed the editing on this one bro. Super seamless. Almost like a professional Spiderman vlog style. Keep up the great work guys
Thank you!!
My one year old really enjoyed this video. I played it for me, but she was fascinated.
I bought a crossrope for my birthday and I absolutely love and enjoy it
Ayyy love to hear it! I’m obsessed.
@@GoalGuys So Am I it's alot of fun and a really good work out
I just bought my first Jump rope and yes I agree, it's so hard but it might be the most fun workout I've ever tried and your video inspired me so much. Thank you for this!
I love jumping with the weighted ropes because you build muscle while shedding fat. The speed rope is great for foot work. Jump roping helped me play better in wallball. It’s perfect for speed and raw power! Love this video!
hold on hold on,did you say Weighted jump rope builds muscle and builds raw power is that true because if it's true imma go to a store right now and buy one
I love this video. Its real, and relatable, and lighthearted... everything I like!
That bruised finger looked like it was about to gangrene and fall off. Ouch! Way to stick with to the end.
😂
This is great! I've been jumping quite a bit as well lately, but I've never used an actual quality rope. Finally ordered one, and am waiting for its arrival!! 💪💪
Good challenge and good video. Would've been nice if you shown your recovery routine in more detail. I'm actually surprised you didn't suffer any sort of leg pain (i.e. knee/ankle pain, shin splints etc), from day one through to day 30.
Amazing video! I cheered for you when you kept going past 2 minutes. You earned it and you deserved the victory.
I jump rope 6x a week for 41 minutes straight… and it is great cardio but the hard truth is, that your feet and calfs hurt as hell… so you really need to take a break sometimes to rest your feet and calfs
