Whoooohoooo! Started 2 weeks ago after watching your videos. Rain, snow, sun I had it all, but I love this as an outdoor routine. Coming from a cancerjourney, this really helps me on my way to a life after cancer. Thank you guys! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I completed 5k skips today. It took around 45 mins(including the breaks). It's funny, how I started with 100 skips and never thought I would be able to reach this far. This small achievements give immense happiness. Next milestone:- 5k under 30 mins. Thanks for guiding always. Keep motivating, keep inspiring.👍
This video really motivated me to get started. I am 17 years old, my weight is 96 kg (211lb) and my height is around 166cm (5'4). But sometimes I'm so afraid of not getting any result from the jump rope that I do.
As long as you keep doing it, you will get results. No way can a body do this kind of workout consistently and have nothing to show for it. I'm just starting, not to lose weight, but to fend off a sedentary lifestyle. Even if all I get is the endorphins from exercise, my face will show more happiness. Do the thing.
Thanks to Jump Rope Dudes for guiding me through my jumping rope journey. Seeing development in my body by jumping rope for 2 weeks after getting injured because I overworked myself when I first tried it. Now, I do it every other day, and also in calorie deficit. I'm also increasing my intensity each week.
Started five days ago ... a little frustrated by how many stops I have, but I am hopeful that your rope length guide will help, I was over a foot too long.
I am 73 years old and waiting for my jump ropes and mat to come in, I usually rebound and could only do 90 seconds when I first started. I now do 10 minutes twice a day on the rebounder. I hope I can do this, pray for me 😂😂😂. I have not been rebounding lately because I has some problems with re injury of my shoulder. So going to start again after the first.
I started jumping rope with shoes off, and its helping me to go for 150-200 jumps without getting tangled, where as with shoes I average out at around 50-60 jumps before getting tangled
Thank you so much for the work you guys do. Jumping rope has changed my life. I have been jumping rope consistently since the beginning of the year at first I did 5 times a week using the 30 min workouts. It was no surprise I my legs gave in about 2 weeks in. I had extreme shin splits, I took a break for a day or 2 and came back to do 3 times a week. I still felt pain but endured until I got into it again. This week I started using a heavy rope, it's about 2.5 lbs and boy oh boy my arms were on fire. It's the challenge I need because I was getting too comfortable with regular rope.
Perfect. Thanks for this birthday gift. ☺ I've just begun doing the thing about 2 months ago (never tried, even in childhood), but with a bad rope. Now I got a decent one, and I'm starting to have fun with your instructions! Thank you!
Hi guys! Just starting my jump rope journey. When Brandon says we should start out without a rope, how long should that be for? The first day or first week or more? Your videos are very motivating! Keep doing the thing!
I had a baby 10 months ago and only now feel like i have the motivation and energy to get back into shape. I bought a skipping rope today so im so glad i watched this video because i totally would have done the double jumping! 😅
Hi,I am 68 years old.I love to jump rope.I did it before many years and now I want to do it again.I started to do what you suggest and after practice them I jump better and easily.I will continue to follow your videos.Thanks.👍
thanks guys for this !! I just started my rope jumping journey and oups, I didnt know to warm up, I would just start right away for 10 mins... and double jump sometimes haha !! cheers for all the tips :D
Hey guys, thank you for this guide. I am 42 yo newbie and I am ready to start my journey. I am buying a set of crossropes but really not sure which one to pick. My plan was to buy the get strong set along with a 1/2# rope with intention the intention to minimize equipment purchase. Is this a good idea? I might be overthinking the whole thing but I appreciate any feedback.
Its my first time jump roping My feet are bleeding Because the only shoes I have are combat boots so I did it barefoot in my driveway The rope i'm using is like plastic wire so i Is whipped my feet a bunch but I did managed to get 25 jumps in Without whipping myself.
Just ordered my first crossrope! I've been using a high-end rope, but I'm tired of the PVC coated metal cable tangling and tripping me up when trying to do tricks. I can't wait to try these!
@@strixt I'm mixed on them. The quality and material is great. It never gets tangled up when doing cross-overs and stuff like my other one does. I'm mostly unhappy with the lengths and inability to make any sort of micro adjustments (for example cutting the cable to the correct length like most others can do). I got the length recommended for my height which was WAY too long to jump well with. I traded it in for one size smaller, which is workable but still not quite right. For the price of these things they really need to work in a way to adjust the length for a more accurate fit. It's a shame they don't because it's a great rope otherwise.
@@lonewolf1979gmail Awesome, thank you for replying! Sadly, that's been my biggest hesitation in getting the crossrope. I'm right at 6'2 so they say I should do the XL, but the 9' I have right now is only *slightly* short, definitely not 6" too short. My current one is definitely usable, so I guess I'll stick with it until I can find something else. Thank you again for the reply, I really appreciate it!
I started jump rope few days ago. watching your video made me realize i was doing it wrong. I have a terrible knee pain.its so painful to walk the stairs or get up.shall I stop jump rope and do other exercises for awhile? please helpp!! thanks so much!
I’ve noticed that I do a double jump, as a complete beginner and going pretty slow is it best to start of slow and time it so I’m doing one slower jump or try to get the rope going fast enough so There’s no time to double jump
Damn you make it look so easy! I guess it shows how out of shape I am since I get out of breathe after just 30 seconds. I also keep loosing my rhythm and getting the rope tangled on me :/
Im new also but never hurt my knees tho i run every morning, how old r u? Did u stretch, did u try jumping on your 1st try? Dont rush it the 1st thing i did was watch my form then i whip my rope and catch it with my toes first then repeat do this over and over maybe 3 - 5 days just 5 mins then one day when u pick up ur rope ur body already knows ur form then nxt is try jumping lower one skip at a time, dont rush now i can do 5 straight skips 😂
Would it be better to just do the jumps? As in without the rope? Because I just can't jump the rope more than once without stepping on the rope and nothing is really working. I imagine the difference is just the rope? I would still be doing the jumps.
For those people who havent go gym or physical active will need weight rope. Otherwise, speed rope will be alright as u adopt to it other than changing from weight then moving to speed rope makes it more challenging. Just my opinion.

What a great video! I seem to have days when it goes okay then the next it's like spaghetti round my feet. I'm very much at the FRUSTRATED!! phase. 🤬🤬👍
Hi I struggle with sore knees and have a slight scoliosis of the lower spine. I have started my menopause and the weight has crept on. I am 5ft 10 tall and weigh approx 12 stone 😢 I want to start skipping and have watched all your beginner videos. Would you recommend this type of exercise? I am generally fit and have an active life. I work at school all day and have 3 dogs I exercise regularly. I eat healthily etc is skipping okay to do? Thank you 😊
I hope so! Check with your doc because of your scoliosis, and you'll have to start slow. 3-5 minutes at a time, add it to your workout. Once your body adapts you can add more time. patience and practice, you got this! do the thing! 💪🏻
Doesn't help me. I see you guys swing it aise to side to get the move started. I cant find where to learn this and dont always get it off the ground from behind me stationary on the ground. I want to get the initial move started. How?
Hi, thanks for you great video, I want to ask about METs, I tried to find Mets for different skipping speeds but for 120-160 skips is regard as the same in most websites I found, cuz I skip at a pace of around 180/min for an hour so I wanna ask is there anyway to have a more ccurate estimation on the calories I burn for my work out?
Calorie burn varies so much from one person to the next (height, weight, heart rate, rope type, etc). Bring the intensity, and a high calorie burn will follow! We do love the whoop to track our calories burned!
Hey Jump Rope Dudes, got a question. Is eating non large meals 3 times a day a good enough for weight and calories deficit? And There are no snacks involved, just breakfast, lunch and dinner.
They have great beginner work outs on their channel as well, just 10 or 15 minute workouts. As a beginner those are more than enough and will have your calf's burning in a good way, and as you get better you can always transition to a more advanced workout. Everyone is different and it is best to listen to your body, but generally it's best to jump one day then rest 1 or 2 days after then get back to it.
Hi guys!!! Any idea why I have ribcage pain right underneath the breasts and upper left back pain?? I started jumping rope yesterday... No leg knee nor shin pain, but can't understand why my ribcage and upper back hurts. Thanks!
I m biginner I tried skipping after worm up.. 3 days I m jumping only 30 counts.. But problem is that, now my right feet toes is swollen! 😒😱what I have to do.. Please guide me sir
How do people who only use wrist to swing the rope can swing it so fluidly? I keep hitting the back of my head with the rope everytime I only use the wrist 😩😩 clearly “using only the wrist” is easier said than done…can someone help??
Nice video, informative, on point. I started to run like 15 kms, started exercising and recently bought some cheap jump rope. I lost 6 kg over few months as well, cause i went better with food and all that jazz. I guess the most frustrating part is the fact that the rope will get attached to my shirt or something or the fact that i cant do it consistently for now.
(posted this also on another of your vids, just in case). Love your channel; very helpful. Question: I’m a bit past a beginner…not much, but I keep at it. I’m having a problem with the achilles tendon on my left leg. It gets strained by jumping rope (nothing else), and can become painful, which is discouraging. I stretch it for about 20 minutes before jumping, slow methodical stretches, but there’s still an irritation issue. I don’t want to give up jumping because of it. Any advice? thanks so much for your channel! regards;…
You have an imbalance somewhere. You gotta find out what's going on. More mobility and do some youtube searching. Get with a doctor if you need serious help.
Hi.. will jump rope cause hurt or worsen De Quervain's tenosynovitis?Cause after nearly 3 years (short 1 month ) it won't go away. Will it hurt knees too? My knees are crunchy.. too much hard wear and tear on them.. P.S Don't work as a cleaner.... it is not worth ruining your body...
Unfortunately, I can't answer your question, you'll have to get checked out by a doctor to make sure its safe for you to jump rope. If your knees are crunchy, wear supportive shoes and jump on a mat so that you can protect your joints. Hope this helps 🙏🏽

Please answer me honestly. Is jumping weighted rope backwards bad for ur shoulders? Or does it build strength that way too?
They also have a video on this on their channel just search it.
Hi.. will jump rope cause hurt or worsen De Quervain's tenosynovitis?Cause after nearly 3 years (short 1 month ) it won't go away.
Hope this helps 🙏🏽
bro whats that shoe? looks sick!
I couldn't tell ya, this was years ago. Sorry!
I cant spin the rope that quickly!!!
I bought a Jumprope with a plastic protector ate the middle of the rope should i remove it?
I dunno, I don't use that kind of rope
