Thanks, Jim!
He did a great video
Got my lock replaced. Thank you.....
I have another one to do on our current build.
Worked on my L-77, too. Thanks so much!
I hope it helped!
Thanks for the demonstration, it was very helpful!
Thanks, it saves a lot of money.
Thank you
You're welcome. Thanks for watching
Jim is a no nonsense all business no bullshit kind of guy lol. Like Jim Croce sang about in his song " Bad Leroy Brown"..you don't mess around with Jim lol. He's a good egg as us northern Yankees would say.
He really is a wealth of knowledge
Been looking for this tutorial forever and a day. Jim is a goshdarn lifesaver! 😇
He's the best!
Where do I get a lock can't find any around here in Muskegon mi.
Do you know where to get the lock mine is froze up
@@gerryhekkema5239 Vintage Trailer Supply is where I get mine.
Thanks guys- very little info out there on how to get these old cylinders out. Now I can get on with installing the 2 new cylinders in my '54 Spartan Manor frustration-free!
Thank you for watching.
My l66 doesn’t have the cylinder with the bump out. Mine is a perfect circle.
Is it a Bargman or another brand?
@@RobTheRebuilder it is a bargman
Could you write the name of the place to get the lock. We just brought home a 1969 Sero Scotty Sportsman. Really enjoying your videos.
Vintage Trailer Supply
VTS doesn't have the replacement cylinder for round cylinders though, just the one with the little extra tab. Anyone know where I can get a completely round one? Thanks.
I don't know about those. You might try a FB specific to your camper.
Mr. Rob, the handle on my lock is broke. Can it be welded? Thanks!
Very difficult if not impossible to weld pot metal.
Rob, where dis he get tbe replacement cylinder? I have an original doorknob on my 1969 Scotty Serro Sportsman and I have no idea what to buy.
I also have a side door (that opens to the underbed storage) no key for either. 😡
I called/went to Menards, Lowes and Ace Hardware and NO one has it or any suggestions. Please help! Thanks! Jennifer 😁
Vintage Trailer Supply for lock cylinder.
Ask for mailbox lock from Home Depot for under bed door.
@@RobTheRebuilder Thanks! I definitely want to keep everything original that I can! Your videos are so helpful! I am now a Subscriber! 👍😁
I also have a channel here on youtube, it has very few videos but I'm going to start making ones of the work I'm doing on the Scotty
Thanks Rob!👍 I contacted them and because my camper has an L-100, and they can't source it, they directed me to a guy in Arizona who fixes specialty locks. I talked to him and he seems like a nice, honest guy I'm going to send both of those locks to him today.. thank you for the referral. 😁
I have a '59 Shasta Airflyte with this lock - and the Bergmann looks exactly the same - my key cylinder has already "snapped off" - and comes sliding out with the key.
is there a way to remove the (remaining) portion ofthe key barrel - that must be inside the lock - and replace with a new (old) original key barrel that I have bought?
also I have the orginal barrel - not the "notch" variant that VTS sell
I have not removed that type. So I'm not much help for that one.
