The first time the mutants fight an alien invasion group named "Vuk (D'Bari)".
But for Magneto, this is a life and death battle against extraterrestrial beings, even though he was defeated by the strongest boss, at least he protected Jean Gray, who previously thought Jean the mastermind of this problem was Vuk who wanted to take Jean's power.
Michael Fassbender is easily the best aspect of these movies, he plays Magneto PERFECTLY, Marvel, i BEG you, PLEASE bring him back

It's too bad plot would not allow Magneto to really use his full potential. In addition to the Guns firing, he should have also had pieces of metal wrapping around her. Even if he couldn't kill her, he could have had lots of metal bind and try to immobilize her if for no reason than force her to use her telepathic powers away from him. He's in a metal box for crying out loud.

@@sarin.19 It's really a shame that Dark Phoenix is so bad. It had the script potential to make a fantastic movie on the same level as First class and Days of Future Past. The movie had solid character arcs for Magneto (learning forgiveness and realizing Ravens death was an accident by Jean), Professor Xavier (learning that he can't everything, admitting he was wrong to lock away the Phoenix and apologizing to Jean), Beast (same as Magneto), Cyclops (becoming the leader), and Jean (forgiving Charles and embracing her power).

I could really use a standalone Magneto film. The way they display his power in the movies always makes me wish for more. My only issue with it is they never show his max potential. Eg in the comics he can summon a forcefield and can shoot out electromagnetic pulses. Where are those abilities when you need them?
Edit: Forgot to specify that by shield, I mean a magnetic shield. Not the type he used in apocalypse.

its a comic book characters movies, just like their comic counter parts they are ALL JOBBERS. they only win if they needed to win and lose when they meant to lose same as how they display their power as its process. jobbing is a part of their characters.
Micheal Fassbender is top tier. He can get a sense of malevolent, omnipotent power unleashed on weaker vessels and you feel thrilled. Reminds me of Brando as Colonel Kurtz in Apocalypse Now or Shakespeare's Macbeth or Richard the third. Probably Fassbender trained in Shakespeare. Looks like it. Tom Hardy as Bane is another example of a great supervillain. And Heath Ledger as the Joker. Great actors make great supervillains.
The casual toss as if he was saying "Not impressed" while not even looking is what makes him Magneto in this movie. Literally dealing with his opponents mostly on his own, and removing several enemies from the board at once.
It's the same move Wanda pulls in Wandavision as she simply makes the soldiers turn on their boss. Byyyyyeeeeee

Besides Magneto being just badass, I love how Fassbender acts out his powers. The hand motions make it clear and deliberate, but its not flashy and overdone like a lot of actors do nowadays with mind-power characters
To use magneto correctly in this scene is just him able to create a magnetic field so strong to the point she has to use a considerable amount of her telepathic powers to outpower magneto.

@@derekcash3608 Staying true to the source material doesn't necessarily make a film better. There's definitely a higher risk involved if trying to deviate from the comics, but there's also a much more unique identity when producers decide to make something very different

I don't see how she could have done that. Her telekinesis is not going to overpower someone who controls the electromagnetic spectrum and who is standing in the middle of a metal train car. He could have easily generated a magno-field that nullified her attempts
If you look at it, Magneto also has "telekinesis" himself, only he applies electro magnetism force to manipulate or move something. We dont know what force Vuk applies in her "telekinesis" or maybe its like "psychokinesis" (pure mental power) like that of Jean Grey.
Lol just no, his electromagnetism isn’t that strong in the movies like that in the comics. You’re not paying attention if you think Magneto can nullify any attacks like that which you wrongly say!
He only has magnetism in the movie not electromagnetism, basically just telekinesis for metal, except people confuse magnetism as moving metal like a metal bender, he doesn’t move metal, he moves the electromagnetic spectrum of earth to move metal. Jean and Vuk on the other hand, are actually moving objects directly.
To put this into context, he crushed a train car like it was a piece of paper with just his will smh
