I love how they finally showed a bit of Drax's strength and why he is the strongest guardian of the team. He is the only one who could go toe to toe for a little bit against someone like Adam Warlock. And before people start about comics, of course Adam should've finished him sooner, but talking purely about the MCU Drax finally got some time to shine to show how powerfull he can be.
Yeah but it's still pretty weak in comparison to the comics... Bro could fight hulk and win... Idk, I like the MCU's version, but I miss the competency they gave the character in the comics. I guess the same could be said for a lot of characters in the MCU, Starlord was charismatic and low key a tactical genius in the comics, Hulk was actually incredibly powerful, Thor wasn't the butt end of every joke... I think they just leaned a bit too hard towards the comedy side of things but at the expense of making their characters seem incompetent.
Blue woman is the strongest i think
@@alexanderangelkov6338 nebula? Nah….
@@ebenserfontein8145 The problem with the comics is that they are just all too powerful, I think for it to translate well to screen, power of most character, whether that be Marvel or DC need to be somewhat scaled down a bit
@@ashm4938 Yeah nah absolutely... Can't have an interesting character if there is no way they can really be hurt... Kind of the reason why Superman started becoming really boring in some of the DC comics due to power scaling. That's why My Adventures With Superman (MAWS) is so good right now, as he is easily the weakest Superman we've seen so far... The difference being, even though he is weak comparatively to other superman versions, he is still a very competent and tightly written character. Yes, he is clumsy, yes he is a goofball at times, but he is taken seriously by the story, and the characters he interacts with. This is so important, because if nobody took him seriously, why should you?
Unfortunately, Marvel doesn't seem to have that for a lot of it's characters. Yes Drax, Thor, Star-Lord and Hulk are a LOT weaker than their comic counterparts, but they are also not written that well either. They are just at the butt end of way too many jokes, making them seem incompetent at best and cowardly at worst.
Star-Lord in the comics for example is a master tactician, and the rightful leader of the Guardians due to his cunning and wit, even though it's hidden behind a charismatic and often arrogant façade. In the MCU however, he is almost exclusively used as comedic relief, degrading the audience's view of his character in order to get a cheap laugh. They want us to basically go "haha look at the funny man, he's so stupid", but want us to care as soon as things start getting serious. It don't work like that chief.
Drax held his own against Adam. He deserves some credit.
*held*
@@Peacemaker2024-A9T in the comics Adam has beaten Thor regularly. And drax is captain marvel level so it’s a shame the movies have powered them down.
@@tomdevlin5412 True
Honestly for someone called Drax the Destroyer, all his fights in the GOTG movies felt really underwhelming. Wolverine's named after basically an overgrown ferret with anger issues and still fights like more of a destroyer than Drax.
@@paciiiimijak Have to agree with you.
Whoever did the close ups did a spectacular job. They don't feel out of place and even give the fights almost an anime feel, especially with Drax and Adam.
Yeah!! I was pumped to see kinda new look to the action. I love that James Gunn continues to evolve visually!
So...does the mcu EVER give drax a win? He was a badass in comics...they did him dirty...
If you make Drax gay and lame, he would get a win. That's the MCU nowadays...
There’s actually a name for this, I don’t recall it correctly. But it describes taking a tough character and let the new bad guy beat him up to establish the villains power. Much like Thanos did with the Hulk.

I love how the arrow couldn't pierce Adam Warlock.... showing not only how tough he was (I mean, that thing could pierce almost anything), but how the guardians are out matched...
But it also shows how raw Adam is.... like, dude is so much above them that their strongest attack couldn't hurt him.... and dude still lost....
"and dude still lost"
Because their strongest attack could hurt him
Buddy, that arrow scene was clearly supposed to be a comical attempt at the guy trying to master the arrow. It literally shows a close up of how little power the arrow hit Adam warlock with. It had the power of a slap, because whatshisname still hasn't learned how to use it.
I'm not saying it would have went straight through if at full power, but this scene is very clearly not it at full power lol
Hmm I'm pretty sure the arrow swayed and only managed to hit him with the butt of it.
The limp arrow shot is still perfect lmfao.

When you chilling, but a unexpected event happens.
For the people going "Ugh Adam is too weak" We all have to remember he's in short, a 5 year old and I mean literally. For him. he doesn't know combat that well and doesn't understand much becasuee he's learning and hasn't matured up to his full potential. However he can already rip apart any villain we had so far tbh but My point is, the more we see him in future movies because for him, I'm assuming us seeing Adam Warlock has just begun because it would be terrible to only see him two or one time so back to my point the more we see him the more he's going to grow up into an adult and mature meaning he's going to get stronger, faster, and not hold back and everything we want and everything in the comics that he did, I'm willing to bet right now, he will eventually be able to do in future films. I just wonder how long it takes Adam to age.
The problem too is that people compare all of these characters to their comic counterpart, which over the years have just become insanely overpowered and it wouldnt translate well to screen imo
Besides, Adam has the power to heal himself and regenerate himself into a cocoon, making himself more powerful in the process.
Holy yap please use punctuation
Like Sin from guilty gear. He looks like a grown man but he doesn't know where babies come from 😂
@@ashm4938 right, this pisses me off. They had way more time in the comics to have story than they have in the movies
2:51 Drax Face
This scene gave me chills. Didn’t know who was going to make it.
what he did to groot was just vile 💀
They had him do it to Groot because he could have done it to any of the other characters but Groot is the only immortal one and will recover.
He looks more like homelander's son than homelander's son.
James Gunn elaborated Adam is still “a baby” in this movie. He’s exactly like Vision except WAY way more unaware of his FULL potential and power- I have faith moving forward they’ll truly demonstrate him as the power house he is.
Doesn't James Gunn direct dc movies?
@@randomtuber331 he’s more or less the Kevin Feige of DC at this point but he directed all three of the GOTG films. Moving forward idk if he’ll have a role as a director or give like professional opinions on the Guardians stories in the future but nonetheless I still hope whoever is in charge keeps the same energy and vision Gunn had for the Guardians.
@@viiizzyyyxx7815zack snyder will direct next gotz movies
you know youre a baddass when you fight the LITTLE one at the speed ov light and still only get mild fear yell out ov him and POSSIBLY wake up the leader (back up comic relief)... great!
Spiders!
One bite turned Peter into Spiderman and the other turned Kenny into Adam Warlock!
(Gets impaled through his back)
"That hurts!"
“What a pity”
Nebula with the coldest line
I waited forever for them to bring Adam Warlock into the MCU, and they made him an absolute joke.
He's an absolute beast. He's just literally a baby. Nobody takes babies seriously. He'll get this awesome thing called character development
@joelbibeault1169 Character development from the modern Disney media empire?!? That's pretty funny. The more that monopoly consumes, the lower the quality becomes. Besides, I always figured you should develop a character DURING the movie. I mean, that movie is pretty long, Adam Warlock is a pretty great comic book character, and they spent almost no time developing beyond a punchline. They had plenty of time to get away from the.. "haha, he's newly created and ignorant and doesn't understand stuff".. joke. He has so many powers they didn't even touch upon. He's a telepath. He has a perfect intelligence, meaning he knows everything. He's basically a god.. and they made him a bumbling idiot.
Nebula, from the moment you levitated into scene and commanded “on the ground!” You showed me confidence and fearlessness. Adam did you dirty with his OP-ness
You seriously cut it off before the part where she said pity? ! I expect that part each time I watch this scene
Damn i do need to still watch this. Wish Quill still had his alien dna. Would be OP.
He still has his father's DNA, but since EGO died, he doesn't have access to that power anymore.
That would not help him since he can only access Ego's powers while he is on Ego. He basically blew up the generator for his superpowers back then.
“Who threw this thing at me?….. baby”
Um…. He was trying to a$$a$$inate u, Adam 😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
Adam warlock is one of the most powerful being in the multiverse even going toe to toe with Captain Marvel
Captain Marvel is nowhere near one of the most powerful beings in the multiverse. I don't think there is a single superhero that is regularly.
Kragling is NO Yondu.

Unrelated but that scene reminded me of Rick Grimes Vs The Governor’s fight in season 4 ep. 8
Adam Warlock was menacing. Everyone just didn't take him serious because he acted like a child
Because he was a child
because he is a child
Adam Warlock looks like the kid from a show I saw, called American Gothic. Sherrif Buck sticks in my my mind. And they both had some kind of supernatural power. It was long ago, so I could be wrong. But his face looks similar to that boy's.
Supermans action scenes are gonna be dope if this is a sneak peak of It's going to be with characters with similar power sets
Not gonna lie, the starting part was funny af 😂😂
Juiced groot was a f@#$ing stud. This kinda shows just how formidable the Ronan was from the first movie. He absolutely beat the HELL outta Drax.
I'm so glad the guardians saved each other just in time...five times in a row. Would be nice to something different in these movies for a change.
I seem to recall it not working out for Gamora if that's the kind of thing you're talking about
Idk if you've heard about this movie, it's called Avengers: Infinity War. You should watch it.
It's like they are a team and this is their HQ or something.
I am so sorry, but I can't help but seeing Eustace Scrubb in Adam Warlock and keeping a straight face.
Wow Rocket is tough being able to casually walk away after getting smashed through the building at full speed.
yeah the guardians are all pretty durable:
- quill survived holding the infinity stone
- gamora and nebula are constantly hit by explosions, missiles, etc.
- groot is bulletproof, drax is also bulletproof and he survived a spaceship crash unscathed
- mantis was hit by a meteor and was only knocked out
This Adam would piss himself if he met the real one.
Or the Magus
😭
Well this one is still a baby
He's just his baby version rn. He'll become extremely powerful later.
That makes sense why they introduced Sentry we’re gonna have heavy heavy hitters
they just got the place fixed up
You know the MCU gives construction companies job security
Surprised he got work after the spider biting the nuts scene and don't go chasing waterfalls
In the comics Adam warlock becomes the new living Tribunal when the watchers found him dead.
In the comics adam warlock is a sage, not at all a fighter, who leads the heros against thanos for the infinity stones
Interesting how they just made him a golden, blonde, super strong moron
Nebula really just showed up and said I am iconic and amazing
HomeLander vibes

Eugh the way he snapped mantis’ arm was gross
In the Comics Adam Warlock is basically Superman 🙄 i hated how James Gunn did him.
Blame disney not him....hence why he left
He's explicitly underdeveloped in this universe.

so did he die in movie?
@@GameDevAraz no, he lived and joined the Guardians of The Galaxy
People seriously need to stop comparing Drax and Adam Warlock in this film to their comic counterparts. The comic versions are just way too strong and if they were to put that onto the big screen, then it would just make for a boring movie.
Onore a drax che è veramente forte nonostante non abbia nessun potere ma il coraggio è sempre con lui
