I don't understand what supposedly makes Gunpowder so evil in Butcher's eyes? It seems a lot like they just killed him because "guns bad" and it didn't make sense. Like Butcher is this outlaw baddass who loves guns and fucking shit up, but suddenly he hates some dude who is all about guns because guns? Did I miss something Gunpowder did because this comes across as shoehorning in personal politics so the character Butcher is acting out of character?
Nah butcher kills him because thats just what he does, he hates supes, it wasnt anything In particular. Butcher did something similar earlier in the show when he killed that one mind reading supe even tho he helped him
Butcher hates him because he’s a supe. The show even addresses that in later dialogue. “You can’t change what you are.” Butcher killing gunpowder is not something the show looks upon fondly. There’s nothing to imply butcher gives a fuck about what Gunpowder is parodying. Like I’m not going to pretend the satire is well written but Butcher makes no comment on anything beyond the fact Gunpowder is a Superhero working for Vought and as demonstrated he hates them. This is Butcher just being violent because he fucking hates them and is a generally shitty person. There’s nothing specific to gunpowder here.
He wants soldier boy information. Also clearly gunpowder is a murderer, by this scene.
Also butcher is acting as the police agent.
Also, butcher uses force to combat evil murderers, he's the good guy and is acting in defense.
I think it had nothing to do with guns, he killed him because he hates supes more than anything and he is just as much of a psycho as Homelander in some way,

He can figure out how to ricochet a gun, but when he was a boy he couldnt figure out that firing a missile would give away the base hideout

I watched that whole season and had no idea Gunpowder was Sean Patrick Flannery. Also now getting the joke of casting the star of Powder as Gunpowder.
Bro didn't land every shot, but thay ricochet was clean. Guess he's known for tricks and not accuracy
Enough tricks to get that close had butcher’s head been a little further left it most likely would’ve taken him out. Why guys like Bullseye have to be fought close range they are too cracked at a distance
when you realize that Gunpowder came closer to killing Butcher than Homelander ever did....
The writing of this season is such trash
